LONG HAIRED
A lovely entry, thank you. All the dogs were well presented, such a pity we couldn’t be outside in the sunshine. Mouths were good and in general I was impressed with their good feet. Tail carriage was good also underlines. Fronts were variable but I was surprised by the difference in hindquarters, some long second thighs and some high at the hock, both of which I found tended to restrict hind action. What really surprised me however, was how big they have become. I suppose it’s easy for size to increase when there is no height restriction and standard are not weighed, but I would bet that there were few under 26 pounds. Some plump rather than well muscled. Another thing that seems to be happening, in my own main breed as well (Afghans) is that ribcages are getting shorter. This and also short neck do tend to spoil overall balance. I personally prefer less rather than more coat. The bitches nearly all moved with more enthusiasm than the dogs.
MPD. (4). 1. Burke and Manston’s, Bonavoir Celtic Bard. Well balanced b/t. Strong bone without overdoing it. Good head and coat and sound movement. 2. Jordan and Nightingale’s, Rodima Kirman. Red. Good balanced angles keel and ribbing. Not as refined in head as winner. Nor as confident. 3. Thompson’s, Metadale Made to Order for Oleanca.
PD. (3). 1. Mitchell’s, Bronia Monte Cristo. Nice shaped all over though needs a little more length to ribcage. Sound collected movement. Not over coated. Pleasant head and good feet. 2. Geeson’s, Abydachs Rocks my World. Another red. Larger than winner and again not as confident. Well balanced but preferred front assembly of winner. 3. Alford’s, Fragglerock Guard of Honour at Deeseedax.
JD. (3). 1. Negus’s, Shardaroba Rigel by Tarramist. Shaded red. Pleasing head in good balance with body. Good keel and fore and aft angles. Not too much coat. 2. Grimes’s, Mondricia Mr Ed. Free moving b/t. Longer on the leg and longer in ribcage. Needing a little more time to mature. 3. Chapman’s, Melminsd Master Copy.
PGD. (5). 1. Cooper and Steadman’s, Alex’s Favourite with Merrygarth. Good sized red. Pushed hard for RCC. Well balanced head to body. Good keel and front. Balanced fore and aft. Nice coat and sound movement. 2. Page’s, Chipperfield Brigadier. Smaller lighter red. Good keel, front and topline. Pleasing dog. 3. Andrews’, Black Crystal at Isanhurst.
LD. (6). 1. Megus’s, Shardaroba Midnight Sun at Tarramist. Well mad shaded red. Won this class on his outlook. Head held proudly and moved with enthusiasm but without flying his tail. 2. Boyle’s, Briandolf Hi Fault at Zarcest. Pale red in lovely bloom. Good size and right amount of coat and excellent topline. Just didn’t carry himself as well as winner. 3. Cooper and Steadman’s, Darsoma Zuave at Merygarth JW.
OD. (4). 1. Robert’s, Ch. Swansford Henrikador. CC and BOB. This boy moved as if her really had somewhere to go. Sound as well. Shaded red with excellent neck. All over balanced and well made. A pleasure to go over. 2. Burke and Manston’s, Ch. Bonavoir Seven Sisters. Another dog a pleasure to go over. In super bloom with excellent all over lines. RCC.
MPB. (4). 1. Adamson and Phillips’, Larkhund Uptown Girl. Red. Much more the size I expect from a Minor Puppy. All over pleasing and went with great drive and purpose. Still needs to tighten in front. 2. Barrow’;s, Frankanwen Hi-Babe. Slightly larger paler red who also needs to tighten in front. Pleasing shape but not quite the drive of winner. 3. Jordan’s, Rodima Golden Dreams.
PB. (4). 1. Perry and Burfitt’s, Fragglerock Guardian Angel. Red. Obviously enjoying her day. Sound. Good coat, front and keel. Balanced head. 2. Geeson’s, Abydachs Dare to Dream. B/t. Heavier but in great condition. Pleasing all over. 3. Mitchell’s, Bronia Marionette.
JB. (5). 1. Burke and Hanston’s, Loggeta La Scarlla from Bonavoir. Red. Lovely balance of head, neck and body. Good coat, front and hind end. Moved soundly once into her stride. 2. Grimes’, Mondricia Regal Holly. B/t. In good body. Not quite the purpose of movement of winner. 3. Newport’s, Dark Enchantress at Rodima.
PGB. (9). 1. Robert’s, Swansford Vivadora. RCC. Dark red of excellent size. Making a complete picture with no exaggerations. Lovely front and hind end. Good coat and moved well. 2. Plevin’s, Morali Caol Ila. Paler red. Another very nice bitch. Slightly larger. Good topline front and body proportions. Not too much coat. 3. Perry and Burfitt’s, Swansford Tinkadora with Fragglerock.
LB. (3). 1. Clarke’s, Tekalhaus Krugerrand. On her own but not disgraced. Houndy head, good outline. Better hindquarters than fore. Carrying a bit too much weight.
OB. (3). 1. Mitchell’s, Ch. Darsoms Zophisticate of Bronia. CC. Shaded pale red. Smashing bitch. Lovely balance of head, neck and body. Good keel and front with maturing back end. Pretty head and lovely outline. Close decision for BOB. 2. Roberts’, Swansford Kiadora. Smaller red with not quite the balance of head and neck to body. Good coat and moved with oomph.
