LONG HAIRED

I would like to express my thanks to the Bournemouth Committee and the exhibitors for their understanding as I had had a stay in hospital due to an injury to my leg a week prior to the show and my movement was a little laboured. I still find some exhibits far to large and heavy and in my opinion way over the standard, this detracts from the elegance that I like in this breed.

PD
(3) 1 Mitchell’s Classic Legacy. A gorgeous shaded red baby of just 7 months with everything in the right place. Elegant head and good lines throughout. Excellent neck and shoulders, very good ribbing going well back. Strong topline and hindquarters which he used so freely. This was his first show and yet I awarded him the Reserve CC and BP. Must have a very bright future. 2 Dare’s Darsoms Zupremo. Another promising youngster of 10 months, many of the same attributes. Lovely to go over, but a little heavier though- out which meant he rolled a little in front movement. Excellent ribs and topline and put down in super condition as was the winner. 3 Chapman’s Zarcrest Gollee Be Gosh. Sweet youngster, not quite as tight though- out and rose up a little in the rear.

JD
(2) 1 Marsh’s Marshwick Silver Star. Silver dapple of excellent construction and proportions. Very nice head and good shoulders. Excellent topline. Nice tight feet. Sound on the move. Sadly he did not move out as freely in the challenge. 2. Vine’s Bokra Espionage. Nice shaded red, not as tight in elbow Lovely head and he has a very good coat. Glamorous dog, but a bit too heavy and close to ground for me.

ND
(1) 1 Johnson’s Marshwick Masterpiece. Clear red with a nice outline. Little bit short in upper arm and neck and a tad broad in skull for my taste. Good coat and moved quite freely.

PGD
(5) 1 Eldridge & Swann’s Metadale Mogonhoff. A very nice shaded red who won this class on overall construction and free movement, Good head and lovely neck. Nice and tight in front and excellent ribbing going well back. 2 Burke & Manston’s Marshwick Moon Music for Bonavoir. A very nice clear red with a good front assembly and good feet not quite the ribbing of 1. Moved out well, not as firm coming towards me as the winner. 3 Marsh’s Marshwick Blackcloud.

LD
(5) A good class of dogs here but my first two were of excellent type and construction. Both black and tan it was a difficult decision. 1 Cross and Burke’s Logetta Black Velvet. Lovely head on this boy with excellent neck and shoulders. Nice and tight in elbow and well ribbed. He retained his topline on a smooth journey round the ring. 2 Sutton’s Damai Master Benedict Sh CM. I judged this dog as a youngster and loved him then. He has retained his good outline standing and he has a lovely head and good front. Strong hindquarters as did my winner, he just did not quite retain his topline on the move. These two must have a bright future. 3 Clarke’s Hilmar Harvest Gold.

OD
(5) 1 Oxley’s Ch Owlery Valentine JW Sh. CM. I have judged this dog before and awarded him his 2nd CC. I fail to see why the exhibitor chose to enter under me again, but we are there to judge the dogs in front of us, and obviously I liked him 2 years ago and he did not disappoint today. He has a good head and neck and tight feet. Very well made black and tan, with good keel and ribbing, correct for size and a very free mover. CC. 2 Mitchell’s Ch Bronia Patriarch another good dog from this kennel. Unlucky to meet 1 today. Red with a lovely head and good front feet and keel. He is two years old and I felt in body he was slightly immature. Excellent construction and topline, Good hindquarters. Very full of himself on the move so a bit unsettled. 3. Geeson’s CH. Abydachs Oh What a Night JW.

PB
(6) Lovely class of super babies. First 3 especially. 1 Dare’s Darsoms Zensation, so aptly named! Clear red Super head , neck, feet and shoulders, plenty of keel and well ribbed and correct for size, lovely type. Moved with great drive using her hindquarters well. Challenged hard for reserve CC . Must have a good future. 2 Holdsworth’s Bonavoir Sugar Plum lovely black and tan baby, another one who surely must have a bright future. Nice head and neck. Moved true, Excellent ribbing and good topline. Lovely for size. 3 Burke and Manston’s Bonavoir Classical Touch Litter sister to 2.

JB
(2) 1 Mitchell’s Bronia Devil Woman 12 month red lady, with great style. Good front and feet. Good neck, feet and topline. Well ribbed, good for size. Free on the move.

PGB
(3) 1 Jordan’s Marshwick Black Sunshine for Resurgan Black and tan with a lovely head and the darkest of eyes. Good front and keel Nice outline, tight feet and elbows. Moved very well using her hindquarters strongly. 2 Mitchell’s Bronia Chassis at Imirika red bitch of good proportions. Retained her outline well on the move. Nice head, would prefer a little more neck. Moved well. 3 McGill’s Resurgam Diamonds Forever.

LB
(7) Best class of the day. 1. Dare’s Loxbar Rubi Muri Darsoms. This young black and tan lady headed this lovely class with some to spare. Beautiful to go over, just my type. Correct for size with marvellous head and darkest of eyes with a melting expression. Front and shoulders superb. Good keel, tight feet and ribs go well back. Retained her topline throughout. Very feminine but houndy as well. Shown to perfection which gave her her first well deserved CC and BOB. I shall watch her progress with interest. 2 Sutton’s Damai Miss Sophie. Another beautifully made young lady. Super outline and good mover, not quite the elegance in head and neck of my winner, but apart from that a lovely bitch. One to watch. 3 Le Page’s Neropa Jetblack Jute Avec Thelepes. Black and tan looked lovely standing, not quite the free movement of 1 and 2.

OB
(3) 1 Surrell’s Bokra Jazz. Very well made shaded red, totally tight throughout. Lovely head and eye. Super keel and front. Nice tight feet. Ribs go well back and she has a good topline. Reserve CC. 2 Mitchell’s Ch Bronia Pastiche. Lovely clear red bitch, Nice head, eyes could be a little darker. She is finer throughout. Liked her front, keel and feet. She is longer caste and perhaps could have a slightly longer rib. Very good behind and super mover. 3 Oxley’s Ir. Ch Owlery Czarina.
