LONG HAIRED
It is a number of years since I last judged this breed. Then I found that hindquarters needed the attention of serious breeders. On this occasion I found that many of the exhibits were able to hold a pose & used their hindquarters to advantage.
The problems I found this time were very short ribbing & extreme, upright shoulder blades.
Presentation & handling was of the highest standard. All of the exhibits were happy & had very good temperaments.
Thank you for the wonderful entry & the sporting acceptance of the awards.
VD (5) 1 Oxley’s Ir Ch Larkhund Latest Destroyer at Owlery, 9 years b/t, in immaculate coat & condition, handled well; 2 Negus’ Shardaroba Midnight Sun at Tarramist, almost 10 years, lovely head. Not in same coat or condition as 1; 3 Cook & Rhodes’ Bournder Emerald Star, worthy exhibit, sired by 1. PD (5,1a) 1 Geeson’s Abydachs Iconic, shaded/r, well balanced, of correct size, movement true; 2 Mitchell’s Bronia Classic Legacy, loved the head on this baby, in gleaming condition & well handled. Would prefer a better angulated shoulder blade; 3 Oxley’s Owlery Lewis, left the ring before I could take notes. JD (3) 1 Burke & Manston’s Bonavoir Solomons Seal, glamorous golden red, very male exhibit; 2 Paskins’ Kindeace Laird of Lochloy, b/t with qualities which were difficult to assess. Handler & dog need to spend time together in a constructive way; 3 Chapman’s Zarcrest Gollee Begosh, small, presented & handled. PGD (16,2) I found this a very hard class to judge. 1 Halsall’s Brynalyn Count The Dream for Kiddles, shaded/r who was sound both ways; 2 Rees’ Loxbar Master Mercantor at Aquarelle, b/t, well filled front; 3 Vine’s Bokra Espionage, shaded/r, in good coat. LD (12,2) 1 Roberts’ Bronia Major Blink Swansford, I turned around from assessing a previous exhibit to look at the next one on the table & my immediate reaction was ‘at last a dog with a neck’. Deep mahogany/r, correct straight coat, flowing topline, young fresh & up for it. CC; 2 Dunbar’s Bronia Fernando, well presented exhibit, strong topline; 3 Sutton’s Damai Master Benedict, b/t, used his hindquarters to advantage. OD (14,1) 1 McFaul’s Ch/Ir/Int Ch Darsoms Zwagerson, shaded/r of impressive type, in immaculate condition & handled to perfection. RCC; 2 Geeson’s Ch Abydachs On What A Night, very worthy, sound exhibit, different type to 1. The connection between handler & dog is a pleasure to watch; 3 Mitchell’s Ch Bronia Patriarch, smart well handed exhibit. GCD (3) 1 B Count The Dream for K; 2 Rees’ Phaeland North Light at Aquarelle, smart exhibit who also demonstrated his involvement with the scheme; 3 Hutton’s Owlery Majestic of Dachalune.
VB (2) Watched as both of these lovely bitches came into the ring & it was such a pleasure to see just how well they looked. 1 Mitchell’s Ch Darsoms Zophisticate of Bronia, such a beautiful type, her outline is still perfect as was her movement. I gave her the CC & BOB last time I judged the breed; 2 Sutton’s Dolan Cupid Golden Dawn at Damai, different type to 1 & also very worthy, in immaculate condition. PB (3) 1 Mitchell’s Bronia Dream Legacy, b/t, happy & full of joy, good forechest, lovely head. BP; 2 Callow’s Metadale Miranda, lovely type bitch of correct size, very sound on the move. I think she also loves her food; 3 Metcalfe’s Metadale My Oh My, small & very feminine baby, shown & handled well. JB (4) 1 Dare’s Darsoms Zensation, golden/r, very sound & of correct size; 2 Holdsworth’s Bonavoir Sugar Plum at Potogold, elegant b/t, in glorious condition; 3 Duchesne’s Bonavoir Golden Maze by Scandell. PGB (16,3) Both of the PG classes were difficult to judge. 1 Garlick’s Ranglewood Evelyn, b/t, built on clean lines, good forechest, level topline, used her hindquarters to advantage. Sired by a dog I gave a CC to last time I judged; 2 Negus’ Tarramist Ophelia, clean outline, not so outgoing as 1; 3 Roberts’ Swansford Philkadora, different type altogether. Taller than the 2 above. LB (14,1) 1 Dare’s Loxbar Rubi Muri Darsoms, very regal bitch, noble head carriage, sound on the move, really loved her type. In the challenge she relaxed & it affected her topline; 2 Geeson’s Abydachs Intrigue, different type & as all were from this line, very honest sound exhibit; 3 McNaughton’s Bronia Fascination. OB (8,1) 1 McFaul’s Ch/Ir Ch Dachville Perfect Blend, very well known bitch who has impressed so many judges in her career. This is not surprising, her construction is totally correct, her movement from any angle reflects the construction, very feminine & her flat correct coat hides nothing. CC & BOB; 2 Geeson’s Abydachs Hot Summer Nights, sound flowing movement, the results of careful & well planned outcrossing, something that I admire. RCC; 3 Dare’s Fragglerock Rosy Martini at Darsoms. GCB (2) 1 Dimon’s Laraine Diamond Lassie for Dimerlin, s/r, happy individual; 2 Dimon’s Laraine Truly Faye for Dimerlin, b/t, responsive & happy individual.
