The observations that I wrote about in the Dachshund Club handbook, had not changed, with hind movement being the main criticism. However there are good virtues that should be continued to be built on, for it to remain a strong & active breed. Most dogs were presented well & in good coat. Condition overall was excellent.
PD (2) 1 Roberts’ Swansford Kestador, a well constructed young dog, with a promising future, & quality stamped through him. Good shaped head, dark eye, super shoulder placement & good depth of brisket. Good bone with adequate ribbing, kept his topline at all times. A well balanced dog. BP; 2 Dunbar’s Daamistico Kamali, nicely constructed young dog. Correct head, eye & reach of neck into good shoulders. Moved well. JD (4,1a) 1 Cooper, Steadman & Hendron’s Bronia Mr Mcgregor, a nicely constructed dog. He has no outstanding faults. Moves round the ring with drive & determination, excellent well presented coat, keeping his topline at all times; 2 Dare & Guy’s Darsoms Zobama, a very nice head & length of neck. Tight well kept feet. Correct type coat. Moved soundly; 2 Cook & Rhodes’ Abydachs Rides The Storm to Bournder, a nicely constructed dog. He has no outstanding faults & is a pleasure to judge. Moves round the ring with drive & determination, keeping his topline at all times; 3 Hutton’s River Rumpus through Dachalune.OD (5) I can understand why these two dogs have had such a successful career. There is little to dislike on either & little to separate them. Both in super condition & a privilege to go over. I have little to add to their critique that others before me haven’t passed comment on. 1 Boyle’s Ch Zarcrest Hugo Boss, well constructed dog with no obvious faults. Good front & rear movement. Tight shoulders & good ribbing. Nice dark eye good reach of neck. CC; 2 Mitchell’s Ch Bronia Mr Pepys, a sound overall compact dog, sound movement. Lovely forechest onto tight well presented feet. Good depth of ribbing. RCC; 3 Hutton’s Rolo Rascal over Dachalune. VD (2) 1 Sutton’s Sh Ch Damai Master Benedict, a dog I have seen from the ringside many times. He is overall a credit to the breed with sound & correctly built front assembly. Good head, reach of neck depth of ribbing.
