I was very happy to be invited to judge at this prestigious show in Builth Wells. It was exciting to see the extent of the show ground full of caravans and campers on the Thursday evening when we arrived. We enjoyed the drive up from Bristol and it was interesting to see the Welsh mountains and countryside looking so fresh and green. It is my first time awarding CCs in the UK and I must thank the show committee for their hospitality and of course for the opportunity to be part of their very well run Show. The two ring stewards were efficient and kept all the ring procedures running smoothly. The Long-Haired Dachshunds were very well presented and were well able to move round the ample ring with ease. Exhibits were well balanced and of a correct size and mostly fit for function. Temperaments were excellent all the dogs were very confident on the table. There was a good entry of 45 exhibits. 

 
vet D (1) 1 Mitchell's Ch Bronia Lotario - JW 8 year old dog in excellent condition with a lovely coat of correct texture. Good head, reach of neck and prominent forechest. Topline strong on the move. Correct feet with good reach and drive. Complete bite and good dark eye. Pleasing size and overall a well balanced dog. Best Veteran on the first day. Reserve Dog CC. PD (2) 1 Garlick's Ranglewood Harvest Song. A lovely 10 month old black and tan dog of good size, with an excellent head and good dark points. Correct bite. Carried his topline strongly on the move with very good reach and drive. In very good overall condition. Best Puppy in Breed. 2 Dare's Swansford Lionellador Darsoms. A strong 9 month old shaded red dog with an impressive head. He is well up to the size with correct coat, good bite and dark eye. He generally moved well and I would like to see more reach in foreleg. 

 
JD (3) 1 Dare's Darsoms Zybrox. A very attractive 17 month old shaded red dog with excellent body in good condition. Correct bite, good head and dark points. He carried his topline well on the move with very good reach and drive. Excellent forechest. 2 Duchesne's Darsoms Zyjosh of Scandell - Litter brother to No1. Lovely outline, shaded red dog. Moved well with good reach and drive. Good topline and tailset. Quite hard work for his handler today. 3 Lewis's Trixhund Opium 

 
PGD (4) 1 Burke, Manston & Mesdames's Wardax Indian Summer Bonavoir - 21 month old shaded red dog. Impressive dog with lovely dark points, correct bite and good eye shape. Topline carried well on the move. Strong bone with excellent coat condition. 2 Brearley's Labbadax Eyecatchin Shadow at Xanadax - 4 year old black and tan dog with a very attractive outline. Strong bone and body, good topline and tailset. Correct bite and good dark eye. Moved true with drive. 3 Duchesne's Darsoms Zamba of Scandell 

 
LD (3) 1 Chapman's Melminds Zsylvester. 4 and a half year old shaded red dog with strong bone and body. Moved very true, holding his topline on the move. Quality coat with good dark points and eye shape. Very well animated in the ring. 2 Geeson's Abydachs Seize The Night - 3 year old dog with lovely outline. Correct bite and lovely shaped head with good dark points, quality forechest. Would like to see stronger rear drive on the move. 3rd Garlick's Ranglewood Arashi 

 
OD (6) 1 Mitchell's Bronia True Legacy. An attractive 21 month old shaded red dog with excellent outline and good strong forechest. Moved really well, holding his topline on the move. Correct bite, excellent dark points and eye shape. A very true mover today. Excellent bone, body and coat. BOB and Dog CC. 2nd McNaughton's Ch Cedovoch The Alchemist, An eye catcher on the move. A lovely shaded red dog with excellent topline and tail set, moved true with good reach of neck and quality dark points. Strong feet and legs with good bone and body. 3 Hutton's Trixhund Euphoria SW Sh CM 

 
VB (2) 1 Eve's Dachslur Diamond Fancy Free at Sundayshill - 8 year old shaded red bitch in very good overall condition. Excellent movement. Correct bite and good dark points. Good size with lovely feathering. Pleasing to watch her move today. 2 Fricker's Village Storm at Dachslur, 10 year old shaded red bitch with a lovely temperament. Would like to see more reach and drive on the movement. Topline loose today. 

 
MPB (2) 1 Lewis's Trixhund Black Opium, Attractive 8 month old black and tan bitch, well up to size. Correct bite. Excellent temperament. A good steady mover holding her topline and steady on the move. Strong bone and body with excellent potential. 2 Geeson's Abydachs Kumala - Pretty 6 month old shaded red bitch with a good outline and lovely dark points. Rear movement needs to settle. She needs to develop confidence and ring practice. 

 
PB (2) 1 Mitchell's Bronia Supernatural - A very attractive 9 month old shaded red puppy bitch with an excellent outline and strong forechest. Good length of fore limb and she holds her topline well on the move. Correct bite and good dark points. 2 Boyle & Wren's Zarcrest Ava Gardner. A very feminine 8 month old shaded red bitch with good length of foreleg. She holds her topline well on the move. Needs to develop her confidence on the move with more rear drive. A little shy today. 

 
JB (4) 1 Eve's Sundayshill Hermoine - 14 month old shaded red bitch with an elegant outline. Excellent head and reach of neck. Correct bite with good dark eye and pigmentation. Moved well, holding her topline on the move. Correct tailset with lovely feathering. Good bone and correct feet. 2 Dare's Darsoms Zeunice.17 month old attractive red bitch with good head and reach of neck. Holds her topline well on the move. Excellent tailset. Preferred the movement of 1st. 3rd Hutton's Dachalune Abella
