Critique for The Houndshow 2018 ,Longhaired Dachshunds Mrs V Phillips

I would like to thank the Houndshow Committee for inviting me to judge at their prestigious show and thank the exhibitors for giving me a lovely entry ,I thoroughly enjoyed my day once again thank you.

1^st------Wedge’s Peverleigh Autumn Louis at Dolans

Red dog of 10 months,Well up for size,classic conical head with a strong muzzle ,correct ear set and dark oval eye.

HE has a good reach of neck running on to well placed shoulders,adequate upper arm with elbows neatly tucked in.

Good length of keel and ribbing nicely sprung.Tight feet.He is in good coat and body condition.Moved out with ease around the ring using his powerful rear keeping a good topline .I was pleased to see he was awarded RBPIS well done.

2^nd—Metcalfe-Bilgin

---Metadale Monterey Jack

Handsome boy shorter coupled than 1 and not quite the elegance through his neck and shoulders .He has a good front assembly,prominent prosturnum and good return of upper arm.Ribbing is well sprung and adequate return of stifle.Tight feet.Moved out well around the ring keeping his topline and is very sound fore and aft.

1^st----Dare’s Darsoms Zocratees

This dog just out of puppy flows from the top of his head right through to the tip of his tail.He has a super front assembly with good depth and length of keel,long ribbing,superb upper arm with a rear to match his front.He is in excellent coat and body condition.He moved out with verve around the ring showing a lovely outline.RCC

2^nd—Hutton’s Abbilis Theoden by Dachalune

This boy has a superb masculine head ,not quite the elegance of 1. Good forechest,reasonable angulation front and rear.In good body and coat condition.Felt that he was better in ribbing and keel than 3.moved out around the ring keeping a a good topline.

3^rd—Burke &Manston’s Bonavoir Beau Geste

1^st---Brearley’s Labbadax Eyecatchin Shadow at Xanadax

Classic conical head and dark eye.Reasonable length of neck running down to well laid shoulders ,good forechest ,ribbing and keel .Angulated rear.Provided a pleasing outline when moving around the ring,keeping his topline and was parallel fore and aft

2^nd---Cole’s Pennywise of Derry

This boy is a shorter boxier type than 1 ,not the layback of shoulder that 1 has nor the length or spring of ribbing but was nicely presented .Good head and expression, He has good feet coat and body condition and i am sure with more confidence he will present a more relaxed picture.

Three totally different types in this classs

1^st—Booth’s Romeo Rude To Abbalongdat

Taller stationed dog,super conical head and dark eye. Smooth run through from the top of his head through his shoulders to his topline.front angulation matched his rear.tight feet.A very sound mover which won him the class.

2^nd---Street’s Ranglewood Lawsonia

Heavier dog than 1 .classic head and dark eye.Has plenty of covering and not overdone in coat.stood and moved holding his topline and keeping a good outline.

2^nd---Cooper’s Mr McGregor

This boy was so full of himself,very handsome and would have scored full marks for his zest for life and so enjoyed being out with his handler(keep on doing what you are doing with him)He is well made and good to go over.Everything is in the right place,I just preferred the more classic outline of 1 on the day.

1^st—Dare’s Ch Swansford Lionellador Darsoms

Another superbly presented dog from this kennel.Very masculine ,super expression,exels in neck and shoulders and front assembly,keel and ribbing.So good to go over.Just flows around the ring using his strong well muscled hind quarters.It was a pleasure to award him the CC and BOB today.

2^nd---Johnson’s Africadawns Night Lement

Another lovely dog .has all the attributes with good clean lines,presented in excellent coat and condition and moved around the ring so soundly presenting a very pleasing picture overall.

Darsoms Zethro

Loved this 7 year old dog,beautiful head with strong muzzle and underjaw.Clean flowing lines from the top of his head through his shoulders to his topline.He has a prominent forechest and good length of keel and ribbing.Loved the way he stood all four square for his handler and moved around the ring with verve.

2^nd—Mitchell’s Ch Bronia Lotario

Very handsome champion ,super head and expression with dark almond eye.Good width and depth throughout.Keel carried well back,excellent spring and length of ribbing running into angulated hindquarters which he used to his advantage on the move keeping a superb outline still.It was a pleasure to go over him ,thank you.

1^st—Metcalfe-Bilgin—Metadale Moana

Very attractive baby ,lovely head and expression.Lovely to go over ,still very roly poly but has good lay of shoulder with long ribbing and short loin.Tight feet.Good angulation front and rear.moved around the ring showing a good topline and very sound fore and aft.

2^nd---Nicholson’s Africadawns Night Tipsey at Betsymira

Slightly longer cast bitch ,very attractive head ,not quite the lay back of shoulder and rear angles as 1 but was handled beautifully in super body and coat condition.She moved out around the ring showing a very pleasing outline.

1^st---Burke &Manston’s Bonavoir Ermitrude

Beautiful bitch ,houndy but feminine,Super front assembly with excellent upper arm with really tight elbows.Keel and ribbing set right back with good let down in the rear.She is in Excellent body and coat condition.

Looked lovely moving around the ring in profile holding her outline using her strong short hocks and very parallel for and aft.RCC

2^nd –Geeson’s Abydachs Kumala

Once again another bitch in excellent body and coat condition ,hasnt quite got the forechest and upper arm of 1 but has a lovely head ,strong underjaw and expression.She is elegant in neck ,has super legs and tight feet.Her keel and ribbing is of good length and rear angulation matches her front.She was very positive on the move keeping a good outline in profile and parallel fore and aft.

3^rd---Wedge’s Faulksfollie Miss Minaver at Dolans.

1^st—Fossets Brydax Coco Mademoiselle

Very attractive bitch,super head with the darkest of eyes.Taller stationed,balanced angles front and rear with good depth and width all through .Not overdone in coat and in good body condition .Very sound moving showing off her very elegant lines with good hind drive.I believe she went BSBIS too well done.

2^nd—Cole’s Andromeda Galaxy

Nicely made bitch very balanced ,lovely head and expression ,balanced throughout ,Good front and nicely angulated rear ,well covered body and good coat condition.Just needs to gain more confidence to complete the overall picture.

1^st----Cross’s Glasvey Double Trouble For Logetta

I really liked this bitch for her overall balance and size,she just flows under your hands,in superb coat and body condition.Correct head and eye and lovely expression.Her neck flows on to superbly placed shoulders and she has a prominent prosturnum,good upper arm and tight elbows.Oval all through with good length of ribbing and keel.Her hind angulation matches her front .She moved out beautifully around the ring using her strong hocks and keeping a lovely outline.I was very pleased to award her the CC (her first) well done.

2^nd---Clarke’s Tekelhaus Diamond life

Slightly taller stationed than 1 but also good to go over,very elegant in head and neck flowing on to well placed shoulders and a good topline.Excellent feet and ribbing and keel of good length.good body covering and not overdone in coat.Her rear is in balance with her front which showed in her overall movement in profile and coming and going.

3^rd—Booth’s Raphaele Rude to Abbalongdat

Metcalfe-Bilgin’s –Metadale Midsummer Dream

-----Loved this bitch for overall shape and balance.

Classic head and lovely expression,darkest of eyes,she has a good flow from the top of her head running down to correctly placed shoulders.She has an oval front with good upper arm and elbows tucked in.Good length of ribbing and keel and a short loin.She has good hind angulation which showed in her extended movement around the ring displaying a pleasing outline.

2^nd---Geeson’s Abydachs Miraval

Another lovely bitch with the most beautiful head and good underjaw She is very elegant through her neck and shoulders running on to a good topline.In excellent body and coat condition.Good legs and tight feet.Just felt that no 1 had slightly better length of keell and upper arm.She moved out around the ring with purpose and verve.

3^rd Johnson’s Africadawns night wizard.

1^st—Dare’s Darsoms Eunice

Beautiful head and expression on this bitch ,elegant neck flowing on to very well laid shoulders.Oval prominent forechest with good upper arm and tight elbows.She has long ribbing that is well sprung and of good depth,anda good length of keel,short loin.In good body condition and coat which isnt overdone allowing one to see all her attributes on the move in which she excelled ,looking so good in profile.

2^nd—Robert’s Ch Swansford Gemmadora

Another top class girl with superb head and earset and lovely expression.She excelled in front assembly ,with super shoulders and long riibbing and keel and short loin.she has really tight elbows and feet,and strong hindquarters.It was a very close decision but just preferred no 1’s effortless movement today.

3^rd---Geeson’s Ch Abydachs Giving off Sparks.

Paskin’s Ch Abydachs Summer Dream at Kindeace

Elegant headed red of 8 years.Liked her size ,nicely put together .Good length and depth throughout and not overdone in coat.Has balanced angles front and rear and actually looks so much better on the move than stacked showing off good reach and drive and topline.
