would like to thank the
officers and committee for inviting me to judge. I have been lucky to judge at
this show before and is a favourite of mine With it's lovely Christmas
atmosphere.
I have to say presentation on the whole was good but there are a lot of curly
coats creeping in. Teeth on the whole were clean. Pigmentation was certainly
not good light nails light noses .....
I feel the glamour puss of dachshunds is certainly hitting the skids. Quality
was very poor front assembly was disappointing in a majority of the exhibits.
Angulated and well placed shoulders were virtually non existent. I was pleased
with my principal winners but I do hope some careful choice of stud dogs is used
to advantage as I personally feel that if this breed were to carry on in this
state I can not see any future for this breed.
Puppy Dog
1st DARE Mrs C Swansford Gasperdor Darsoms, Smart Black and Tan of super quality
masculine head and arrogant expression. Correct front assembly well placed
shoulders . Excellent ribbing carried well back super hindquarters keeps a good
outline .pressed very hard for the CC please to award RDCC and BP
2nd CROSS Mr L J Loggeta Trouble In Texas, immature baby pleasing head
pleasing outline but needs to tighten up on the move to finish the picture.
Junior Dog
1st DARE Mrs C Larkhund Black Panther Darsoms (IKC) Quality Black and Tan who I
have admired from the ringside. And wow did he not disappoint me. Your hands
flow over this exhibit. He is so elegant masculine head super well filled front
with excellent shoulders . He has a well arched neck well sprung ribs fabulous
quarters which give thrust on the move . He move out with style and purpose. Had
no hesitation in awarding him Cc and Bob I was delighted this made him up. He
was handled to perfection to get the best out of him .
Post Grad Dog
1st JOHNSON, Mr T L & CROSS Mr L J Africandawns Myles Long, Black and Tan for me
I would like a more refined head. He is compact in type but I would like more
neck which would give a more elegant outline . Moved out well covering the
ground.
Limit Dog.
This was a Very difficult class to judge.
1st JOHNSON, Mr T L & CROSS Mr L J Africandawns Night Trooper, red who for me I
found to be too tall for his length which made him look unbalanced. He needs to
carry more weight he lacks elegance as he moved around with his tail flying like
a flag pole .
2nd GARLICK Miss E A Ranglewood Harvest Song, longer type to winner for me would
like a better head piece he has a well filled front but lacks length of stride
on the move.
Open Dog
1st BENNETT Mr J G Shardaroba's Country File, smart red but for me I found him
on the large size. He is all male he has a super head well filled front .
Presented in good coat. Moved out well keeping a good outline at all times.
2nd GARLICK Miss E A Ranglewood Arashi, smaller type to the winner he has
everything in the right place but I found he lacked drive on the move.
Veteran Dog.
1st COOK, Mrs I A & RHODES Mrs P M Abydachs Rides The Storm To
Bournder, smart red presented to perfection. Very elegant boy .
Masculine head without coarseness . Well filled front keeps a good outline
excellent feet. Considered for the Rcc but I thought the youngsters today had
the edge. Best Veteran.
2nd BORSUK Mrs M & Mr D Ir Ch Badamtam's Via Baltica At Follypaws
(Fin Imp, Black and Tan of different type to winner he was enjoying his
day out. He was presented in good order but today I preferred the movement of
winner

in type that this breeder produces. She won this class on her elegant movement.

hindquarters that just make her glide around the ring . She has a lovely outline
and I had no hesitation in awarding her the CC congratulations to owners and
handler.
