Appreciated the turnout for my first CCs for this variety, which was an additional CC breed here for 2019 with a 400 per cent increased entry. Forty-three of the original 53 exhibits made it for our 8.30 start. I found the breed in good order with some great competition.
MPD (1) 1 Johnson's Africandawns Myles Long. 7 mth old b/t, long, conical head, almond, oblique eye, good moderate proportions, well formed front, excellent backline, good bone and feet, excellent rump, good angles, flat coat, absolutely sound and secure on the move, broad enough in skull and prefer a little more neck, a promising pup who helped me "get my eye in".
PD (2) 1 Mitchell's Bronia D'artagnan. 11 mths, lovely head of balanced refinement with its gradual taper and minimal stop, good neck and forehand, well ribbed back, correct backline and croup, good clearance, excellent quarters gave drive, a stylish youngster and worthy son of the great Ch Lotario. BPD. 2 Chapman's Africandawns Just N Time For Melminds. 9 mths, a little heavier headed and narrower fronted, minimum stop, oblique eye, excellent body proportions, well ribbed back, excellent clearance, muscled tump put to good use on the move.
JD (6, 1) 1 Marks' Labbadax Lewisville Texas. 17 mths, choc full of such classic type, structure and quality lines as to grab my immediate attention and hold it throughout, clean head with barely a stop and taper, so well ribbed back with strong loin, beautifully moulded front with full oval thorax, good neck and backline into a long muscled croup, quality coat, gave me reach and drive with a "necky" outline to take the DCC (his second) and BOB. 2 Johnson & Cross' Africandawns Night Trooper. 15 mths, good head with uniform taper, good eye shape, good neck and back line, ground clearance, well ribbed, good rear, quality body lines, just less "finished" overall. 3 Metcalfe-Bilgin's Metadale Monterey Jack.
PGD (6) 1 Marks' Labbadax Latimer Kansas. 17 mths, litter brother to JD and BOB, in many ways a mirror image, quality coated, stylish, lovely head and eye, good angulation fore and aft, well ribbed back, muscled rear with breadth to give drive, narrower fronted, will be moving up the ranks to challenge the best too. 2 Burke & Manston's Bonavoir Beau Geste. 19 mths, heavier headed as lacks some taper and a bit stuffy in neck, scores in his sound structure as he is so well built and muscled with good clearance, moved with balanced positivity as a result. 3 Lewis' Trixhund Paddington Bear ShCM.
LD (3, 1) 1 Rodrigues' Darsoms Zydexta. Rising 3 yrs, combines breed specific type with quality body lines, long head with taper, oblique eye, well built front assembly, good clearance, good bone and feet, good neck and backline, bit long through loin, well muscled rump, good jacket, moved with ease and drive, worth a title. 2 Chapman's Melminds Zsylvester. 6 yrs, less quality in head having deeper stop less good in construction with a markedly narrow front, not in his best form or best jacket.
OD (4, 1) 1 McNaughton's Ch Cedavoch The Alchemist. 4 yrs, bred in the purple, and it shows; lacked coat that drew attention to his terrific outline and overall "correct" conformation, uniformly tapered, conical head, glorious dark oblique almond eye, superior long arched neck, superb and secure forehand and forechest, well ribbed, bit light over loin, well muscled rear, good clearance, superb profile action with an easily produced balanced reach and drive. Res DCC. 2 Garlick's Ranglewood Arashi. Rising 5 yrs, half brother, also bred in the purple. Long head with taper, minimal stop, excellent eye, fabulous front construction so as to fill the hand, good bone, has clearance, well ribbed back into a short loin, so truly "solid" to go over, muscled rear gave drive, expected him to be titled. 3 Lewis' Trixhund Euphoria JW ShCM.
VD (1) 1 Roberts' Ch Swansford Warrador. 7 yrs and one handsome chap, long conical head, prefer a bit more taper through its length, eye bold enough, his strength is in his outstanding structure with fabulous front construction that was so secure to handle, muscled, well ribbed, strong loin, ground clearance, correct croup with rounded rump, good bone and feet, freely balanced mover. BVD and would have been BVIB had it been declared.
MPB (7, 4) 1 Miller & Ryan's Bronia Final Fantasy At Cavallibrook (ai). All but 9 mths, super quality through tapered conical head with oblique almond eye, arch to neck, super structure, loved her lack of exaggeration and compact form, ideal proportions, good neck and backline, well ribbed, sound and free moving, flat coat, has an exciting future. BPIB. 2 Johnson & Cross' Wardax Angelica. 7 mths, half sister to second in PD, loveda her. So feminine, long, conical head, narrower through muzzle, beautifully formed front with prominent breastbone, well ribbed with good underline, well rounded rear, sound with drive, another with an assured future. 3 Paskin's Bronia Final Kiss At Kindeace.
PB (3, 2) 1 Lewis' Trixhund Hi De Hi. 10 mths, good type and proportions, refined in head as befits her sex, well constructed front, well angulated, well ribbed, good bone and feet, just needs to mature on along these same lines. JB (4) 1 McNaughton's Cedavoch Sweetest Taboo. 15 mths, super youngster, fabulous head, excellent forehand, good neck and backline, well ribbed back, ideal body proportions, absolutely sound with a flowing stride from excellent angles to give a look of elegance, should be hitting the high spots this show season as she matures. 2 Marks' Labbadax La Fayette Georgia. 17 mths to complete the sibling trio, quality, lovely long head with taper, good eye, beautifully constructed forehand, good clearance, could not match the elegance and a touch long, but only a teenager. 3 T Hi De Hi. PGB (5 1) 1 Burke & Manston's Bonavoir Ermintrude. 19 mths, litter sister to second in PGD, very typy, good head properties, excellent shape and style to give an impressive outline that flowed, absolutely sound with drive from muscled rear, will be readily moving up through the ranks. 2 Garlick's Ranglewood Trick Or Treat. 2 yrs b/t daughter of second in OD, long head with taper, good eye, well constructede and muscled, good coat, needs no more condition as has adverse effect on ground clearance, sound moving as her structure suggested. 3 Wedge's Faulksfollie Miss Minaver At Dolans.
LB (7, 2) 1 Garlick's Ranglewood Laurel. Three and a half yrs, half sister of second in PGD, very typical, long tapered head, well constructed front, well angulated throughout, good backline, well ribbed, good bone and feet, well coated, moved out true with style. 2 Johnson & Cross' Africandawns Night Wizzard. Rising 3 yrs, full sister of second in JD, long head, good eye and ear, rather finely drawn in muzzle, beautifully filled in front, good neck and backline, sound, not able to match the winners style. 3 Paskin's Territoriya Lubvi Vesna At Kindeace (Imp).
OB (6) 1 McNaughton's Ch Cedavoch Circe. 3 yrs, long, conical, tapered head with lovely eye, excellent forehand, prominent breastbone, long neck, well ribbed back, short loin, excellent proportions throughout, good clearance, classy and feminine, came into her own on the move with her long, flowing stride with balance and drive. BCC. 2 Geeson's Abydachs Miraval. Rising 2 yrs, super b in immaculate coat and condition, uniformly tapered, clean cut head, excellent eye and ear, minimum stop, good neck and backline, arch to neck, correct height to length ratio, good clearance, full broad rear to give drive, good tail carriage, not quite the length of ribbing but of obvious Ch quality who pulled out all the stops in the challenge. Res BCC. 3 Roberts' Darsoms Zardonnay Swansford.
VB (2) 1 Marks' Ch Labbadax Belladonna. 7 yrs dam of the BOB that came as no surprise, such refined, feminine quality in head, excellent angles, well ribbed back with long neck to give super outline on the move as she flowed along on good bone and feet. BVIB. 2 Paskin's Ch Abydachs Summer Dream At Kindeace ShCM. Eight and a half yrs, most lovely head with good eye and ear, taper and minimal stop, good neck and backline, beautifully muscled rear gave drive, not as well ribbed back and heavier built over the shoulders.
