My first time awarding CCs to Standard Longs, I appreciated the entry & the sportsmanship of the exhibitors. Quality was good and I could have signed a CC for several bitches.
Puppy Dog Entries: 2 Absentees: 1 1st) Kenzduo Quartz Bright (Mrs A Kay) 10-month-old B/T dog who hopefully has finished growing. Houndy in head, enough neck and firm in topline. Neat underline and when he got going went with a fairly sound action away and back & used himself well in profile. A promising youngster.
Junior Dog Entries: 1 Absentees: 0 1st) Swansford Prestonador (Mr D Roberts), shaded red dog of 15 months, and he presents a very impressive picture standing. Elegant and shapely, his head is good for balance and strength, and he does have a good expression. Good ribbing & firm topline, with nice hammy hindquarters. In well-muscled condition, sound on the move if a touch wide in front, but a most impressive dog from all angles.
Graduate Dog Entries: 2 Absentees: 0 1st) Trixhund Allo Allo (Mr D M Lewis), silver dapple and tan dog at the top end of puppy. Enough strength to his head & an intelligent expression coming from his well-shaped eyes. Could do with a touch more angulation in front, but his ribbing is good, and he holds his topline standing and moving. Impressive and sound in profile, which is where he edged this win over 2. Best Puppy Dog. 2nd) Dolan Tears of A Clown (Mr M Wedge) shaded red dog of over 2 years, a touch rangier than the winner & not quite the strength of skull I thought; accurate up and back but I thought he could have used himself a touch more in profile. Well-handled and presented.
Post Graduate Dog Entries: 1 Absentees: 0 1st) Trixhund Allo Allo (Mr D M Lewis) repeat of Graduate Dog.
Limit Dog Entries: 4 Absentees: 0 1st) Cedavoch Dark Magic (L Mcnaughton), striking B/T dog in full bloom, loved his head and eye; excellent proportions and strength but not in any way coarse; enough front & good keel; good ribbing and he stands on good legs and feet, Firm topline, neat underline and presented in first class order. I liked him a lot and he moved with ease and freedom, just not quite putting it all in when it mattered but I was delighted to award him the RDCC, to the Open Dog, who turned out to be his sire. 2nd) Gainscroft Dark Destroyer (Miss S L Vincent) shaded red dog approaching his second birthday, who is finer than the winner, but won his place over 3 here on his carriage and style going around. Ribs could extend a touch further back and he could have a mite more neck, but he is a generally sound and typical dog, presented and handled well. 3rd) Dolan Johnny Be Good (Mr M Wedge)
Open Dog Entries: 6 Absentees: 1 1st Place) Ch Swansford Gabrieldor (Mr D Roberts), shaded red dog in full coat & really looking the part, eyecatching from across the ring & the sun made him look marvellous; much to admire about him, correct head and eye, super expression with intelligence and a touch of mischief! Good front, super ribbing & good angulation in the rear. Uses himself very well on the move and is both accurate and sound. At the zenith of maturity, an exciting dog to judge. Presented and handled in first class order, CC & BOB and later Group 4. 2nd) Ch Abydachs Return of The Night (Miss E H Geeson), sired by the winner this shaded red dog is bred in the purple; from a similar mould as his sire but perhaps a touch shorter; excellent head and expression; firm front & balanced angles throughout. Well ribbed & holds his topline well standing and moving; in first class order and gave a good account of himself. It was between him & the LD for the RDCC, I just preferred the shape of the LD standing in the final assessment. 3rd) Metadale Monterey Jack (Mrs S J Metcalfe-Bilgin), completed a trio of very nice males.
Veteran Dog Entries: 2 Absentees: 0 1st) Ranglewood Arashi (Miss E A Garlick), shaded red dog of over 9 years & still in fit, hard condition. Retains elegance through his head and is masculine but not overdone. Good forehand and keel; firm topline and neat underline and is sound and free on the move. A little out of coat but a lovely chap. I see he is the sire of 2nd here. 2nd) Ranglewood Lantana at Kejana (Miss & Mrs N E & J A Hirst) B/T dog just over 8 years, scores for head and eye, but is heavier in type than his father through the body; and not quite so free on the move. He does have a nice outline standing; and was presented in first class order.
Special Beginners Dog Entries: 1 Absentees: 0 1st) Kenzduo Quartz Bright (Mrs A Kay), repeat of Puppy Dog.
Minor Puppy Bitch Entries: 1 Absentees: 0 1st) Tarramist Starlight (ai) (Mr I & Mrs L A Negus), very nice shaded red at her first show I believe, lots to like about her, head and expression are good & she is well made in front, with good width & keel; her topline is firm but she can lose it at the moment on the move, due to a little extra puppy fat (which is nice to see!). Sound and free on the move and one who will do well, I am sure.
Puppy Bitch Entries: 3 Absentees: 1 1st) Abydachs Hot Patootie (Mrs J F Geeson), two nice bitches here, this one a shaded red and almost a year old; I notice a granddaughter of both the BOB and BV winners, a good combination of both with all the essentials to reach the top. In first class order, liked her head and eye, feminine throughout and her expression was most inquisitive! Balanced angulation fore and aft and on the move, she went with a free, easy and accurate action. Still with ample time to firm up & continue her winning ways. A very nice puppy. BPIB. 2nd) Ranglewood Heilen (Miss E A Garlick) I also admired this almost year-old bitch for her elegance; such an expressive head & so interested in everything, there is little to dislike about her either as to go over she is so well made and each part fitting neatly into the next. In excellent coat and condition, very free and true on the move and with a touch more confidence will keep doing well.
Junior Bitch Entries: 5 Absentees: 1 1st) Kyrenia Queens Request with Ranglewood (Miss E A Garlick), shaded red another granddaughter of BV, just over a year old and with a lot to like. Correct head and eye, good strength to muzzle & she was well made in front. Firm topline, neat underline and well muscled throughout. Her shape standing won her this class. 2nd) The Marquis Mansion's Atlantic C to Abydachs (Imp Nld) (Miss E H Geeson), well-marked 10-monthold B/T bitch of a different stamp to the winner but with a lot going for her. She shares many of the same qualities and is admirable for head and eye; enough neck & quit firm in topline. On the move she was free and easy, but I just preferred the outline and static balance of the winner. 3rd) Swansford Aquadora (Mr D Roberts)
Yearling Bitch Entries: 2 Absentees: 0 1st) Swansford Patriciadora (Mr A Whitfield-Roberts) 15-month-old smart shaded red bitch with a very crisp outline standing. Feminine head and expression; fair front but could have more return of upperarm which showed on the move; good in rear & in profile when she used herself, she was impressive. 2nd) Beauty Long at Clavennae (Ms C A Foley) silver dapple and tan approaching her second birthday; a touch taller than the winner and not so feminine in head; but she is sound on the move and uses herself well. Well presented and handled.
Graduate Bitch Entries: 4 Absentees: 1 1st) Loggeta Wynn by Myles at Clavennae (Ms C A Foley) shaded red just approaching her third birthday; very useful sort & in good form today; correct head and eye, keen expression, firm front & enough ribbing; strong topline & uses herself all the time on the move going with a good, free and easy stride. 2nd) Trixhund Madness (Mr D M Lewis), shaded red bitch of 15 months or thereabouts and I thought initially she would be the winner on the first go around; much to admire about her and generally a typy, sound moving bitch. Good head and eye, not quite the shoulders of the winner, firm topline and good hammy quarters. Coming back into coat & looked well. 3rd) Dolan SummerTime Blues (Mr M Wedge)
Post Graduate Bitch Entries: 5 Absentees: 1 1st Place 5038 - Trixhund Madness (Mr D M Lewis), repeat of 2nd in Graduate Bitch. 2nd) Faulksfollie Lady Gemima (Miss S G Wood), B/T bitch just over five years; good head and eye, could perhaps have a touch more strength, fair shoulders & front, topline better standing than moving; goes with a good, easy action & is stylish in profile. 3rd) Brysdax Skyfall (Mr A & Mrs L A Fossett)
Limit Bitch Entries: 5 Absentees: 0 1st Place) Ranglewood Islay (Miss E A Garlick), shaded red 2.5-year-old bitch and didn’t instantly catch my eye in this class; however to go over she is quite admirable and each part fits neatly into the next. Her head and eye are good, feminine expression & good strength throughout; well made front and good keel, firm topline which she held all the time, and in really fit condition. Used herself well on the move & standing she is very impressive. Well deserved RCC. 2nd) Ranglewood Titania at Suecaseus (Mrs S Cheese), almost four-year-old shaded red with a lot to like, she is very pretty but retains strength; nicely balanced angles & was in good fit condition. Not quite the freedom on the move as the winner but a very nice bitch and deserved her 2nd here. Well presented and handled. 3rd) Tekalhaus Our Girl from Drymoor (Miss C Butler)
Open Bitch Entries: 6 Absentees: 0 Nice class, right the way down the line. 1st) Metadale Margarita (Mrs S J Metcalfe-Bilgin), 4.5-year-old shaded red and not a big bitch, so she doesn’t instantly ‘hit’ you; however to go over she is beautiful, I loved her head and eye, super expression, excellent front & keel; well ribbed back, firm topline and well-muscled hindquarters. Sound and free on the move and really lovely in profile; could perhaps have a touch more coat for ideal; but well deserved the BCC which I was delighted to hear was her 3rd & now her title. 2nd) Darsoms Zendra (Mrs C Dare), 3-year-old shaded red in full bloom, imposing standing and lots to like about her, perhaps not so feminine in head as the winner, good to go over, well made front, enough chest & neat elbows; firm topline and tidy underline, stands on good legs and feet and is free and easy on the move. I thought she could have put a little more in when challenging for RCC. 3rd) Abydachs Fire in Her Soul (Miss E H Geeson), completed a trio of lovely girls.
Special Beginners Bitch Entries: 2 Absentees: 1 1st) Africandawns Heidi Clare at Suecaseus (Mrs S Cheese), B/T of just over 5 years, in lovely condition; liked her head and eye, well made throughout and a lovely type; on the move she is impressive and sound; presented and handled in first class order, BSB in Breed.
