I would like to thank the society for inviting me to judge one of my favourite breeds, and of course the exhibitors for giving me the opportunity to evaluate their dogs. I thoroughly enjoyed my day, made all the easier by my two excellent stewards who kept my ring organised making my task so much easier, thank you. I was delighted with my final winners, watching them parade around the ring, all great examples of the breed today. Jd (1)
1 Hannah-Mitchell’s Dachyclan Lachlan at Bronia (imp. Aus.) What a great start to the day I absolutely loved this you male, stunning appearance he set the bench mark for the day, sleek body and coat, my hands just flowed over him, from his perfect well balanced conical shaped head, dark almond shaped eyes, elegant neck flowing into well laid back shoulders, correct angulation to forequarters, with prominent pro sternum, oval chest so well supported by strong upper arm, firm body well ribbed, and strong rear quarters giving the required drive from rear, he flows around the ring with complete ease. Thought he could have been my winner today, but just lost out in maturity to winner for overall body and substance. res CC. Pgd (5) 1 Paskins Kindeace Hit the Road Jack, confident 14 month male, masculine head with dark almond shaped eyes, strong tapering muzzle good underjaw, he is muscular, with plenty of body and substance, firm neck and shoulder, level topline with strong rear drive, shows to advantage on the move displying strong reach and drive, keeping level topline with ample ground clearance.
2 Vincent’s Breezelyn Long Awaited by Gainscroft, an elegant, confident red male with long silky coat, super conical shaped head, well balanced with dark almond shaped eyes, and good pigmentation, he is pleasing to handle on table with good forechest, would like tighter elbow which showed when he just lost out to winner who I felt was better in front movement on the day, but otherwise covered ground well. 3 Carter’s Breezelyn Long Way to go to Logetta LD (4) 1 Sloan, Dunbar &McNaughton’s Cedavoch Dark Magic, compact 3 year old black & tan male, well balanced, with ample substance, lovely conical shaped head, well balanced, with dark almond shaped eyes. He has a strong neck, set into well laid shoulders, with required forechest, covers the ground well on the move. 2 Taylor &Hilton’s Delsaux Across the Universe, two year old male, with conical shaped head, dark almond shaped eyes,, balanced muzzle to skull, a slightly heavier dog and not the confidence of winner, moved out well. 3 Paskins Kindeace You Wear it Well OD (3,1)) 1 Geesons Ch Abydachs Return of the Night, a solid, well muscled male, alert and attentive at all times, no denying his ability to work if required, masculine head, so well balanced, dark almond shaped eyes, strong jaw and bite, muscular neck, set into well laid back shoulders, well ribbed with deep oval chest so well supported by strong well boned legs. His topline is firm and level, strong muscular rear quarters give required driving action from the rear. He is a real showman on the move, head held high, from strong neck through to level topline, his muscular rear quarters power him around the ring. Pleased to award Dog CC and Best of Breed, and delighted to see him later short listed in a strong Hound Group, well done. 2 Paskins Cedavoch it’s Taboo at Kindeace, 5 year old dog, moving with ease around the ring, unlucky to meet winner, he has a balanced conical shaped head with strong muzzle, dark almond shaped eyes, moderate neck set into well laid shoulders, level topline, moved out well. VD (4) 1 Hirst’s Ranglewood Lantana at Kejana, a lovely class to judge, chose this 10 year old Black and Tan who holds his age well, still with good dentition, masculine conical shaped head with dark almond shaped eye, firm well sprung body, short loin and well muscled rear quarters, excels on the move still keeping his level topline and tail carriage. 2 Pike & Carters Ch. Zarcrest George Clooney, hard to believe this male is a veteran, I judged him as a younger dog and feel now he is at his best, super outline, conical shaped head, dark almond shaped eyes, strong muscular neck set into well laid shoulders, shown in super coat, long and silky, without being over done, he moves out with reach and drive, should have a promising veteran career ahead of him. 3 Garlicks Ranglewood Arashi SPECIAL BEGINNERS D (3) 1 O’Neil’s Ranglewood Finlaggan at Donnadach, placed last in an earlier PG class, this dog came into his own here, he seemed to gain in confidence and really motored around the ring, he has a sturdy body with good forechest, he has a masculine head, conical in shape with dark almond shaped eyes. 2 Heaps Ranglewood Katrine, loved this bitch, but so lacking in confidence on the day. She is feminine all through, well balanced head and muzzle, gently tapering with dark almond shaped eyes, set on elegant neck, well laid shoulders and level topline. I hope she gains her confidence as could do well in the future 3 Foley’s Logettawynn Bymyles at Clavennae Pb (2) 1 Dare’s Darsoms Zyrhona, a close decision between these two, liked the size profile and angulation of this bitch, firm well ribbed body with good forechest. Needs to improve her ring attitude as at times reluctant to move out, but once she does, she exhibits the reach and drive required. Best Puppy 2 Reid’s Swansford Daphnedora at Maudaxi, close up to first, pleasing conical shaped head, well balanced muzzle to skull, dark almond shaped eye, elegant neck, flowing into well constructed forequarters, firm body well ribbed, with short loin and strong rear quarters. Still very much a puppy, carry a little extra weight, which showed in her movement as she was closer coming and going than I would have preferred. Sure this will rectify itself as she matures, a really promising bitch. Jb (6) 1 Pike & Carter’s Breezelyn Longing for Love, two elegant bitches, I chose this bitch as my winner, sleek in outline from the tip of nose to end of tail. Her head is well balanced gently tapering giving required conical shape, dark almond shaped eye, elegant neck, set into well laid shoulders with ample forechest, level topline with correct tail carriage, Strong driving rear action gained her this place. 2nd McNaughton’s Cedavoch As if by Magic, again a promising bitch, just not as settled on the move today. Compactly made, yet still with the required length and depth of rib. Feminine head, well balanced with dark almond shaped eye and good pigmentation. 3 Reid’s Cavallibrook One Final Kiss at Maudaxi PGB (5) 1 Geesons The Marquis Mansions Atlantic C at Abydachs (imp) mature 2 year old Black and Tan bitch, handled well to display her qualities. Balanced conical shaped head, dark almond shaped eye, moderate neck, leading to good forechest, firm topline to compact well ribbed body with short firm loin, firm rear quarters, moved out well to take the class 2 Garlicks Ranglewood Heilen, close up,to winner, this bitch is a moderate size and has a touch more elegance about her, just not as willing to comply with her handler on the day making her difficult to assess on the table, well constructed she comes into her own on the move, where her strong rear quarters give the required drive from rear and well constructed forequarters the forward reach, giving a flowing movement which is a pleasure to see. 3 West’s Aurora Rude for Kendalldax (imp. Lux) LB (4) 1 Paget & Carroll’s Cavallibrook Final Say at Marvale, loved this two year old Black and Tan, I see she is sister to winner, elegant well balanced conical shaped head, dark almond shaped eye, strong reachy neck, leading into well constructed body, laid back shoulders well constructed forequarters oval chest well supported, firm level, topline leading to strong muscular rear quarters which give driving action on the move Reserve CC 2 Garlicks Kyrenia Queens Request with Ranglewood, compact two year old shaded red bitch, a pleasure to handle on table, she has a feminine conical shaped head, elegant neck, leading to well constructed forequarters, prominent sternum, firm topline leading to muscular rear quarters, moved out well 3 Geesons Abydachs Hot Patootie OB (3,1) 1 Hannah-Mitchell’s Ch. Cavallibrook Final Fling Bronia, loved this two year old red bitch, she is a picture of elegance on a muscular body, your hands just flow from her feminine balanced conical head, dark almond shaped eyes, well set ears, firm neck set into well laid shoulders, well supported oval chest, ribbed well back to short strong loin and muscular rear quarters, she excels on the move exhibiting reach and drive, delighted to judge her and award her the Bitch CC.
2 McNaughton’s Ch. Blithe Spirit, a quality exhibit I have previously awarded Best puppy & Res CC to, good to see she has reached her early potential. She is a well constructed 3 year old bitch, who has obviously matured since I last judged her, she now has a firm well muscled compact body, strong loin with muscular well constructed rear quarters, she moved out well with purpose, just couldn’t match the free flowing style of the winner, but still a bitch worthy of her title.
