Thank you for the opportunity to judge your dogs, and to the Longhaired Dachshund Club for the invite. To be critical, a lot of the dogs were not at their best on the move today, maybe some mats can be source to give everyone a level pegging.
All were presented in lovely condition, Felt their was a lot of shorter ears than I would like.
Temperaments were excellent.
I was thrilled with my winners, and to watch them go BIS, BPIS & BVIS in show respectively, Well done.

11 Years Dark Shaded red, lovely outline standing and moving, nice head and eye shape, well constructed all round, Moved out soundly, just preferred the bitch for type. His retirement show I was`told after, Happy retirement, well deserved
2nd: METCALFE-BILGIN Metadale Monterey Jack
Another lovely red male, like his head and eye shape, loved his spring in rib and well covered, coat beautifully presented, but he just didn’t not want to put it all in today on the move, and although sound felt the floor affected him more than 1st. A very close decision.

Lovely head and dark eye. Would like a little more to him, he is a lovely shape and moved soundly and holds a lovely topline both standing and moving. Good feet.
2nd: O'NEIL Ranglewood Pheonix at Donnadach
Black & Tan Boy, Good well sprung and length of ribbing, nice length to body, good head and eye shape, moves well both front and back, nice outline both standing and moving, just preferred the 1st on the move on the day.
Junior Dog (2)
Difficult choice between these two boys, both should do well and make up
1st: ROBERTS Swansford Padawanador
classical head and dark eye. Super presented coat, lovely shape standing and on the move, correct front construction, grand coat and condition. Lovely standing with correct front and hind angulation with good feet. Strongly considered him for top honours but felt just needed a little more maturity.
2nd: MCNAUGHTON Cedavoch Circeo
Very little to choose between these two, another with a classical head and lovely dark eye, moved soundly and with elegance, just preferred the overall outline of the 1st.

2-year-old, lovely outline, less coat than most, but this showed his lovely outline attractive head with lovely eyes and good ears. Lovely head carriage when moving which was free and active.
2nd: VINCENT Gainscroft Dashing Dudley
Another nice male, smaller in size, but he has lovely balance and outline. Good in front with a nice lay of shoulder. Maintains a lovely outline on the move, but would like him to move out with more verve.

A red dog as
a young male I gave the RCC to the last time I judged the breed, and WOW how he
has really come on, Loved everything about him, stunning in profile standing and
on the move. lovely head and eye shape, super presented coat which shone like
glass, super length and spring of ribbing, loved his front construction and
lovely hindquarters, which he really used on the day, showing extension which
many lacked. Thrilled to give him the CC, BOB and then watch him go Best in
Show.
2nd: GEESON Ch Abydach Return of the Night
Another nice male, Shaded red, lovely head, expression and eye shape, very elegant in stance, Moves out soundly with a excellent topline but not the extension on the move as the 1st. RCC

8 Years, Lovely shaded red bitch, mother of my BOB winning, and he has taken many of her virtues, she has a pretty head, lovely ears, lovely front construction, super ribbing. Lovely rear angulation which she can certainly use another with lovely extension and strongly considered her for top honours today.

Beautiful red bitch, felt was a little affected by the floor where she was a little hesitate.
Loved her overall balance and shape, lovely head, correct ears and expression. Moved well with a super outline but felt was a little affected by the floor where she was a little hesitate.
On another day or floor, could certainly have been a different outcome.
Yearling Bitch (3,1)

Super red bitch, liked everything about her, beautifull head, super outline, a very strong willed bitch and she did try her hardest to swing it, but with her strong handling put in a excellent performance with her super movement with super extension, in the challenge to take the 2nd CC. Pleased to be told I had given her mother the CC the last time I judged.
In the BOB of challenge she felt she had done enough and the dog was on top form.
2nd: PARTRIDGE Pettigans Viva La Vida by Riveroyal

Very nice
red bitch, everything in the right place, another good mover from this kennel, a
little stuffy in neck, and could benefit with a little less weight. Good feet.
2nd: VINCENT Breezelyn A Long Story at Gainscroft
Loved this black and tan bitch, Beautiful shape standing, loved her front construction, enough neck, super hindquarters, which sad to say she wasn’t using today, just needs that bit more oomph, on a different surface could have been a different outcome.

A bitch I have long admired, lovely expression and eye shape and correct ears. Correct length of neck into well placed shoulders. correct ground clearance and a lovely size, moves out well with style, but today was a little hesitate on the floor, I have seen this bitch fly on the move and today unfortunately she wasn’t want to do that, a strong contender for top honours.
