I would very much like to thank the committee and officers of West of England Dachshund Association for giving me the opportunity to award my first set of CC’s in Dachshunds. Also thank you Ann Jeffery for stewarding and keeping everything under control.

Standard Long Dachshunds

Minor Puppy Dog (1)

1.      Lacey’s ABYDEZI SHADES OF GLORY. 9 month shaded red puppy. Masculine balanced head with good eye. Good length of neck and reasonable shoulder, but would prefer more return of upper arm. Rear angulation balanced front but would prefer more extension and drive. Maintained his topline on the move. Nicely presented. Pleased to award BPD.

Junior Dog (1)

1.      Vincent’s SWANSFORD PADRACIADOR AT GAINSCROFT. 12 month black and tan youngster. Lovely coat. Slightly broad in head, with dark eye and correct scissor bite. Would prefer more angulation to front and rear construction. Good prosternum, reasonable ribbing and keel. Maintained his topline on the move.

Post Graduate (3.2)

1.      Vincent’s BREEZELYN LONG AWAITED BY GAINSCROFT. Red 2 year old with masculine head, good eye. Reasonable length of neck, good prosternum, length to keel and ribbing. Maintained his topline on the move. Rear angulation better than front.

Limit Dog (4.1)

1.      Pike & Carter’s BREEZELYN LOVE YOU LONG TIME. Well-presented red 2 year old. Nicely balanced head and eye, good length of neck into good shoulder placement. Reasonable length to upper arm. Good ribbing and keel and excellent angulation at rear. Maintained his topline and strode out well with forward extension and rear drive. Nicely balanced movement. Moved well in the challenge and pleased to award RDCC.

2.      Fricker’s SUNDAYSHILL THEODORE AT BORZDAC. Another well presented 2 year old shaded red. Masculine head with lovely dark eye. Slightly more compact dog than my 1st. Would have preferred slightly more front extension. Good ribbing and length to keel. Maintained his topline and had good rear movement and drive.

Open Dog (4.0)

1.      Garlick’s RANGLEWOOD ARASHI. Elegant shaded red gent who moved so well for his 11 years. Houndy, masculine correctly balanced head, good eye and dentition. Lovely length to neck which flowed into excellent shoulder and return of upper arm, good length to ribbing and keel. Completely balanced in front and rear angulation. He maintained his topline and moved out with forward extension and rear drive. Best movement of all the males on the day. Delighted to award him DCC and to hear that this was his 3rd, although surprised he wasn’t already made up!

2.      Lewis’s TRIXHUND TEN FROM LEN. Silver dapple who was presented at his best. A more compact type to my 1st who moved out well with good rear extension. On the day didn’t match my 1st for front confirmation and extension. Good masculine head with dark eye. Good ribbing and keel and rear angulation. Maintained his topline on the move.

Veteran Dog/Bitch (1)

1.      Wedge’s FAULKSFOLLIE MISS MINAVER AT DOLANS. Feminine shaded red 7 year old who moved with grace. Lovely balanced head and good eye and correct dentition. Good length to neck and front angulation. Would prefer slightly more rear drive. Pleased to award BVIB as awarded from the Veteran Class only. Delighted to see her go RBVIS.

Puppy Bitch (1)

1.      Garlick’s RANGLEWOOD ANDROMEDA. Very promising 9 month puppy with everything in the right place. Feminine balanced head with dark eye and correct dentition. Good length of neck into well placed shoulders and good return of upper arm. Good length of ribbing and keel into short strong loin. Maintained topline with balanced rear drive and front extension. Pleased to award RCC & BPIB and delighted she went BPIS.

Junior Bitch (1)

1.      Curteis-Lateo’s SWANSFORD PRIYANKADORA. Shaded red 1 year old. Nicely turned out with feminine head, reasonable neck. Maintained her topline on the move. Would prefer slightly more angulation to front and rear construction. Slightly long in loin. Front movement better than rear.

Yearling Bitch (2.1)

1.      Curteis-Lateo’s SWANSFORD PRIYANKADORA.

Post Graduate Bitch (4.1)

1.      Lacey’s ABYDEZI NORTHERN LIGHTS. Elegant nicely presented 1 year old shaded red with feminine head and lovely dark eye. Reasonable front angulation and good rear angulation. Maintained her topline and moved out with drive. Won on her movement.

2.      Dunhill’s KINDEACE BROWN EYED GIRL AT GELLIJAM. Slightly more compact hound with good front construction. Good ribbing and keel. Just preferred the head of my 1st. Maintained her topline but not quite as balanced overall in movement.

Limit Bitch (5)

1.      Burley & Way’s  SWANSFORD ALMADORA. Nicely proportioned 3 year old shaded red. Sound construction and balance throughout with good shoulder placement and return of upper arm, good length to ribbing and keel. Maintained her topline and strode out well with drive and extension.

2.      Sainsbury’s DRYMOOR MARRON GLACE AT BOSCILLA. Preferred the head of this exhibit to 1st, but not quite such balanced movement. Lovely feminine balanced head with good eye. Good length to neck into reasonable frontal angulation. Lovely rear angulation giving good rear drive. Maintained her topline on the move.

Open Bitch (5.1)

1.      Geeson’s ABYDACHS HOT PATOOTIE JW. Lovely shaded red, presented beautifully with correct head and eye. Good length to neck with correct shoulder placement and good return of upper arm. Good length to ribbing and keel and rear construction equally as good which lead to well-balanced movement with both front extension and rear drive. Pleased to award BCC & BOB, and delighted to see her achieve RBIS.

2.      Lewis’s TRIXHUND ONE QUEEN. Another presented beautifully. Black and tan 19 month old with a lovely head and dark eye. Nicely balanced outline with good length of neck but not quite the front angulation of my 1st . Prominent prosternum with good length to ribbing and keel, maintained her topline  and moved out well from well angulated rear quarters.
