It is over 10 years since I last judged at this show. So, I would like to thank the officers and committee, and all involved for giving me the opportunity of judging here again.
Also I was fortunate to have the expertise of my stewards, who were very well organised ensuring the day ran smoothly.
My first time awarding CC’s in dachshunds was 1993 since then I have judged to breed many times over the years.
I was pleased with the large entry and would like to thank all exhibitors who entered under me, also for the generous applause that made for a lovely atmosphere and enjoyable day.
I found mainly in the lower classes the lack of drive from behind in quite a few exhibits. Most was in lovely shiny condition. At the end I was pleased with my results to see them moving round together, it was very special.

Red baby 9 months with a lot to like Lovely head, enough neck into nicely shaped front, tending to stand and move a little high at the rear today, but moved round with very good pace.

Elegant red youngster, lovely head piece and lengthy neck into balanced body shape, having correct angles both front and back, clean legs and feet. Moved true up and down and in profile keeping a lovely outline.

Smart red young male of good size and type, attractive head, dark eyes, ribbing well back. Sound rear quarters with good width, moved round with good drive from behind, close to one.

Close up to one, pleasing head, dark eyes good front and forechest – ribbing well back, true parallel movement would have liked to see more drive when moving away.

I understand that this has given him his crown. Well done.

Quality youngster, not the head of one, but correctly balanced in body, ribbing, topline and sound quarters. Preferred the more positive movement of one.

Strong letdown hindquarters, moved freely with excellent drive, looked lovely in profile. RCC.

B/T 9 years. Different type to one, more on the leg. Has a strong head carried well on lengthy neck, good all round body shape, movement was a little racey, but handled to perfection.

What a little cracker! Almost 2yrs, lovely type and size and seeing her first move, I just thought wow! Just loved her. Lovely feminine head, right amount of neck into super front angles. Ribbing, quarters, everything fits, topline, underline, her movement was sound and free flowing, lovely picture in profile, just had to award her top honours. BCC and BOB.

Also a lovely bitch, I have liked her from the ringside and wasn’t disappointed on going over her, super head, neck and body shape, so sound on the move, true across and back, looked lovely moving in profile. RCC.
