Dachshund ( Smooth Haired)
Judge : Claire Bethel
I would like to express my thanks to the exhibitors for their entries and their patience. I had some lovely dogs to go over. Hope you had as good a day as I did.
SMOOTH-HAIRED: P (2) 1 Dalgety’s Thundergay at a Glance. 9 months old black and tan bitch. Nice all overm she still needs to develop and tighten in front. Lovely head and eyes, good reach of neck, good length of ribbing. Lost topline slightly on the move. Nice hindquarters and moved well. Best Puppy.
J (1) 1 Cooper’s Sontag See Fit. Black and tan 13 month old bitch. Nice head and correct almond shaped eyes. Lovely reach of neck, still needs to tighten in shoulders and develop her front. Good ribbing, carried well back, level topline on the move. I’d like more turn of stifle. Good movement and showed well.
G (2) 1 Dalgety’s Thundergay Lady Be Good. Litter sister to the puppy. Very similar and more settled in movement. Black and tan, 9 month old bitch, very nice to go over, again needs to tighten in shoulders, time on their side. Lovely head and reach of neck, good ribbing carried well back. Kept her topline on movement, good hindquarters and drive. Should do well. Res Best Bitch.
L (3) 1 Cooper’s Sontag Single Minded. Black and tan bitch. Very elegant. Nice head and eyes, lovely reach of neck, tight shoulders and well developed front. Well sprung ribbing carried back. Kept topline on the move, good hind action. Best Bitch. 2 Turner’s MaricturMorgan La Fay. Black and tan bitch, similar to the winner. Lost topline slightly on the move, but still nice to go over. Nice head and eyes, good reach of neck. I’d like more prominent prosternum, good length of ribbing and moved well. 3 Aldridge’s Thundergay Delilah at Daxmuir.
OD (1) 1 McNaughton’s Cedavoch Rainman. Black and tan dog, took time to come together. Good strong head and correct almond shaped eyes. Good reach of neck, full oval front and keel. Carried a little weight which made him look loaded around his shoulders. Well sprung ribbing carried well back. Nice muscled hindquarters. Moved well. Best Dog and Best of Breed.
OB (1) 1 McNaighton’s Ch Cedavoch Wintertime. Black and tan bitch, litter sister to dog in the previous class. Lovely to go over, nice head and eyes, lovely reach of neck. Again, the same applies about the weight around the shoulders. Full front and well developed keel. Good length of ribbing, lovely hindquarters. Kept her topline on the move. A quality bitch.
