LEEDS 2002 Dachshund (Smooth Haired) Judge: Mrs J M Westren
|
This was a very good entry and I had some excellent dogs to judge. The heat affected some more than others and another day places could change.
PD (2). 1 Burke and Manston’s Hampdach Total Eclipse at Bonavoir. V nice p, quite mature, typical head and expression, good neck length fitting into well laid shoulders, prominent fore chest with good depth, level top line, super quarters with well bent stifles; 2 Phillip’s Jessingale Crackerjack of Tendrow. V similar to the first but not as good in fore chest.
JD (5). 1 Rawson’s Twyhill Forceful Freddy for Rosenket. Liked this youngster for his overall balance, will surely be a champion soon, well schooled and showed with maturity; 2 Burrell’s Sontag Sea Breeze. Similar to first but a shade bigger all round and not as good in sternum, super showman; 3 Dent’s Phaeland Szar Dachsein.
OD (2). 1 Cooper’s Ch Sontag Savour The Flavour JW. A d of quality, all male without being coarse in any way, liked his outline both stood and on the move where he kept a level top line at all times, feeling the heat a bit and had to be content with BD; 2 McNaughton’s Cedavoch Rainman. Another excellent d who tended to loose his top line when stood, but still deserved RBD.
PB (1). 1 Punter’s Kiddles First Choice for Welcumen. Lovely pb, scored heavily in type, her size and shape were spot on, moved with drive from super quarters with well bent stifles, BP.
JB (4). 1 Rawson’s Twyhill Back To The Future with Rosenket. I see is litter sister to my JD winner and very similar, they would make a very good brace, I liked her just as much as her brother, very promising; 2 Cooper’s Sontag See Fit. I also liked this b but she has a bit more maturing to do but when she does will trouble the best; 3 Garlick’s Ranglewood Nocturn.
PGB (4). 1 S See Fit; 2 Burke and Manston’s Bonavoir Kildalky Dancer. Close up to the first, has everything was there, I was just splitting hairs; 3 Pogson’s Rivock Refuge from the Storm.
OB (5). 1 Hunt’s Carpaccio Diamond Eclipse, I was surprised this b isn’t a champion, has everything and more, she didn’t seem to feel the heat and out showed the d for BOB; 2 Rawson’s Ch Rosenket Xtra Spirit. Loved this b also but on the day (which was very hot) the winner coped better; 3 Turner’s Marictur Morgan La Fay.
