SMOOTH: My first championship appointment in this breed. A rather mixed entry but I was very pleased with my main winners. A few places may have been lost on handling. Hounds overstretched, and so losing thier toplines, and not all had the most confident of temperaments.
PD. (1). 1. Graham’s, Gameron Rubeus Hagrid. Promising b/t baby that would benifit from ring training. Lovely neck and forehand assembly. Good extension fore and aft. Loin needs to strengthen at present.
JD. (2). 1. Wolege’s, Matzell Moritz. B/t youngster in gleaming coat and condition. Moved soundly but lacking drive. Head could be a touch more masculine. Good bone and ribbing. Kept his topline on the move.
PGD. (5). 1. Norris’s, Criscan Finagle. CC. Masculine b/t, attractive head and expression. Well shaped eye, touch throaty. Loved the way his neck just flowed into his shoulders. Excellent forehand. Good ribbing and well defined keel. Balanced outline with good fore and hind angulation. Moved and freely in profile. 2. Hey’s, Quiske Classic Impact. Another smart b/t, again good ribbing and keel. Free easy mover, not quite as positive in topline as first. 3. McCarthy’s, Seatris Seeking Success.
LD. (2). 1. Hosegood’s, Lauralee Tiger Woods. T’Soff at Hydax. RCC. Quality well balanced b/t. Appealing head, correct eye and leathers. Good keel and ribbing, strong loin. Balanced top and underlines. Lovely width of quarters. Just felt the CC winner was a shade smoother over the shoulders. 2. Hey’s, Quiske Certain Justice. B/t, lovely neck and forehand. Good return of upper arm. Close up but not the width of quarters of first, although well used on the move.
OD. (4). 1. Pams’, Hydanthe Sea Sharp. Red who won here on overall balance. Good forehand, ribbing and keel. Drops off a touch over the croup. Free easy mover. 2. Hosegood’s, Lauralee Welsh Guard at Hydax. Masculine b/t, lovely head and expression. Good topline held on the move. Touch heavy now over the shoulders. 3. Wolage’s, Ch. Matzell Marmaduke.
PB. (4). 1. Marsh’s, Marshwick Magic Charm. BP. Attractive b/t, sweet feminine head. Won here on her free easy movement and well held topline. Good keel and ribbing for age, very promising. 2. Pams’, Hydanthe Sea Princess. Sweet feminine red. Appealing head, well shaped eye. Very good forehand and rear angulation. Touch longer in loin than first. Topline needs to settle. 3. Van der Merwe’s, Queensrook Leading Lady.
JB. (6). Best class overall of the day, the first three could change places anytime. 1. Thompson’s, Spengretta Shooting Star. RCC. Super b/t, beautifully handled to show off her virtues. Sweet head, dark well shaped eye. Adequate neck into good forehand. Lovely ribbing and keel, looked a picture on the move, very promising. 2. Parris’s, Rosenket a Sea Champion of Hydanthe. Another lovely b/t. Close up to first. Similar comments apply. Touch longer in loin than winner. Moved with extension and drive. 3. Armstrong’s, Lauralee Inspiration.
PGB. (5). Very difficult class of varying types. 1. Graham’s, Fuzaketa Actasis at Gameron. Choc of balanced shape, nice head and expression. Good neck and keel. Falls away a touch over croup. 2. Jesse’s, Rill Favourite. Shaded red, typy bitch. Shade long in loin which affects her topline. Sweet head, good fore and hind angulation. 3. Mitchell and McGrath’s, Lauralee Intrigue.
LB. (2). 1. McCarthy’s, Roleta Plays the Aces with Seatris. Smart b/t, lovely shape and outline. Well held topline. Good forehand and width of quarters. In the challenge not quite the freedom of movement of the winners.
OB. (2). 1.
Hunt’s, Carpaccio Diamond Eclipse. CC and BOB. This quality bitch for me stood
away for type and balance. Handled to perfection. Never put a foot wrong. Loved
her as a pup, she’s even better now fully mature. Lovely overall balance and
shape. Excellent head and expression. Good keel, super topline and ribbing.
Excells in length of upper arm and second thigh allowing her to move with
freedom and drive. I understand this her forth CC, she is worthy of many more.
2. Cooper’s, Sontag Silly Season. Another quality b/t. Excelled in strong
hindquarters. Best of heads and expression. Excellent bone and substance.
Unlucky to meet first in such stunning form.
