HOUNDSHOW 2003 Dachshund (Smooth Haired) Judge: Mrs P A Hancock
I would like to thank the committee for this invitation to judge and also for their hospitality. Many thanks also to all the exhibitors for a super entry. The overall quality of exhibits were good, but not outstanding. The main cause for concern in my opinion, were exhibits being overweight, especially in bitches. Many with very feminine heads with loaded weight on the shoulders and bodies, making it very difficult to see in some cases where the ribcage ended. Thus totally overshadowing quality and movement. This cost a lot of exhibitors on the day dearly in their placings. With the cost of entries as high as they are these days, surely it is in out interest to present out exhibits in tip top condition. So as not to spoil our chances of winning. Having said that, I was pleased with my principle winners, and elated that I managed to give both my CC winners their crowns on the day. PD. (6). 1.
