SMOOTH HAIRED
I was surprised and disappointed at the bad temperaments in some of the exhibits, so much so I felt I had no choice but to with hold prizes on three young males who I felt I could not assess adequately.
MPD. (1). 1. Withheld.
PD. (4). 1. Eales and Tite’s, Lauralee Roll of Honour via Rijobeau. Upstanding red dog. Lovely head and eye. Good forechest, shoulders a bit upright. Good ribbing. Nicely angulated quarters. Needs to tidy up in rear movement. 2. Oxley’s, Lauralee the Real Thing at Owlery. Nice head and neck. Good top and underline. Good ribbing, balanced quarters. Shoulders a little forward and short in upper arm. Good bone and feet. Sound on the move. 3. Punter’s, Welcumen Kiss me Quick.
JD. (2). 1. Cooper’s, Sontag Simon Le Bone. Lovely head and eye, good ear set. Excellent neck and good layback of shoulder. Excellent ribbing. Would prefer shorter hocks. Sound on the move. 2. Withheld.
YD. (1). 1. Withheld.
PGD. (2). 1. Dent’s, Lauralee Dylan Thomas von Dachstein. Good head and neck, shoulders a little upright in angulation. Good ribbing. Fair quarters. Steady temperament. Movement a little erratic. 2. Withheld.
LD. (5). 1. Lusk’s, Cedavoch Celebdil. CC and BOB. Very nicely constructed male. Nice head, dark eye. Good neck and shoulder placement. Excellent ribbing, well angulated and balanced quarters. Prominent forechest, excellent bone and feet. Absolutely sound and free movement. 2. Girven’s, Marictur Mansfield. Different type from winner, but a nice dog nevertheless. Lovely head and eye. Long reachy neck, shoulder angulation slightly more upright. Long ribbing, balanced quarters. Sound and true on the move. 3. Melbourne’, Sunhaze St John of Melriding.
OD. (5). 1. McNaughton’s, Aust Ch/Ch. Nicholyev the Hobbit (Imp). Very impressive red dog. Good head and eye. Good shoulder placement, prominent forechest. Would prefer more length in upper arm. Excellent ribbing, well angulated rear. Sound on the move. RCC. 2. Rawson’s, Twyhill Forceful Freddy by Rosenket. Lovely head, good eye shape. Good neck and shoulders. Good bone, good length of rib. Well balanced rear. Just moving a little close on the day. 3. Hunt’s, Ch. D’Arisca Class Distinction at Carpaccio JW.
PB. (1). 1. Dunseith’s, Dubreys Pride of Our Alley. Happy puppy. Nice head and expression. Shoulder a little upright, good forechest, fair ribbing. Balanced quarters. Sound and happy on the move. BP.
JB. (5). 1. Norton’s, Matzell Melua. Very nice bitch who pressed hard for top honours. Beautiful head and eye. EXcellent layback of shoulder. Prominent forechest, excellent ribbing. Good bone and feet. Would have preferred more length on second thigh. Moved well when she settled into the job. 2. Rawson and Walkley’s, Churchoak Chit Chat with Rosenket. Sweet head, good shoulder placement. Good forechest and length of ribbing. Balanced quarters. Lovely outline when stacked but appeared to hunch her topline on the move. 3. Dalgety’s, Thundergay Surely Charmed.
YB. (3). 1. Rawson and Walkley’s, Churchoak Hot Gossip About Risenket. Chocolate of nice quality. Very well balanced in angulation at both ends. Nice head and eye. Well laid shoulders. Good top and underline. Very good outline which she held on the move. 2. Dalgety’s, Thundergay Beguild Again. Another nice quality bitch, unlucky to meet winner. Similar remarks apply but this girl was moving a little narrow coming towards me on the day. 3. Cooper’s, Sontag Tina Peaches.
PGB. (6). 1. Dalgety’s, Thundergay Bohemienn. Very nicely constructed bitch of good quality. Nice head. Good neck and shoulder. Good topline and underline. Well balanced quarters. Would prefer more height through the shoulder. Sound mover, though a little close behind. 2. Rawson’s, Rosenket Diamonds-r-Forever. Another nicely constructed bitch from this kennel. Similar remarks apply to the winner but I just felt this girl lost outline slightly on the move on the day which made my decision for me. 3. Norton’s, Tendrow Mono Maid for Matzell.
LB. (4). 1. McNaughton’s, Cedenoch Aarwen. Red bitch of very correct construction. Head a little strong for me but I forgave this as she is so well put together. Excellent neck and shoulder. Prominent forechest, ribbing long, beautiful quarters. Moved soundly with plenty of width fore and aft. RCC. 2. Hunt’s, Carpaccio Tanzanite JW. Very elegant b/t of different type to winner. Lovely head and neck, good shoulders. Good forechest and ribbing. Would prefer shorter hocks. Moved soundly. 3. Rawson’s, Rosenket Enchanted Evening.
OB. (4). 1. Rawson’s, Laurtom First Edition from Sunhaze. Lovely head, good reach of neck. Good placement and angulation in shoulders. Good bone and feet. Long ribbing. Beautifully balanced quarters. Movement absolutely sound with correct extension fore and aft. Was happy to award her the CC, her sound. 2. Dalgety’s, Ch. Thundergay Lady be Good. 3. Turner’s, Ch. Marictur Miss Midnight.
