SMOOTH HAIRED
I enjoyed my first time awarding CCs to the variety & was pleased to see such excellent temperaments, especially in the youngsters.
PD (2) 1 Bethel’s Hampdach Pyrrus, top quality 10 months red with balanced head, elegant neck, firm topline & such a confident mover, going soundly up & down & covering the ground with ease, excellent bone & in lovely nick, his style & carriage took him through to the RCC; 2 McNaughton’s Cedavoch Born To Boogie, another top flight red but at just 6 months more at the roly-poly stage. Lovely head & eye, has great potential. JD (2) 1 Rawson’s Rosenket Kaptain Kirk, quality b/t with great presence & lots of style, pleasing head, well developed keel, nicely boned & bodied. Tends to stand a little cow hocked & needs to control his tail; 2 Jones’ Matzell Megson with Indizak, smaller framed b/t, good head & eye, not the topline of 1 & tends to be very choppy in his hid movement. PGD (3) 1 Gatheral Graham’s Phaeland Sheriffs Deputy, very well made red, sound & well bodied, quality head, good bone & rib, excellent construction all through. Just needs to carry himself with a little more style, then can make up; 2 Higgins’ Matzell Midnight Harbour for Leveliss, shorter ribbed than 1 & so cuts up in underline & not as firm in hock. Elegant head, good overall make & shape, topline could be more relaxed; 3 Starkey’s Carpaccio Top Of The Class at Hamoura. LD (6) 1 McNaughton’s Cedavoch Galadrim, sound unexaggerated b/t of good overall type & shape but needs more spring of rib & could be firmer in hock. Makes a very pleasing picture when stacked; 2 Tite & Eales’ Lauralee The X Factor, very stylish b/t, necky with well developed keel, coat not at its best & his hind movement is rather choppy. Well ribbed, very striking outline; 3 Wolage’s Matzell Milord. OD (8) 1 Cooper’s Ch Sontag Simon Le Bone, b/t whose great presence & style will always catch the eye, beautiful head & eye, elegant neck, firmest of toplines & good bone & rib, moved soundly & steadily to take the CC, just lost out to the bitch in croup, but a handsome dog of intense quality; 2 Oxley’s Lauralee The Real Thing at Owlery, sound & well bodied b/t with excellent bone & rib. Not quite the neck & bearing of 1 but a very good Dachshund; 3 Armstrong’s Ch Lauralee Lloyd George.
PB (7) 1 Mitchell’s Cedavoch Lets Boogie with Bronia, 6 months red of top quality, lovely head & eye, good neck & keel, flowing outline with everything in the right place. Not quite the confidence of her sister who won Junior & beat her for the RCC but a certain ch; 2 Rawson’s Churchoak Some Like It Hot at Rosenket, 10 months choc/tan & obviously more finished, quality head, not quite the topline or length of second thigh of 1 but very well bodied & a sound & happy mover; 3 Turner’s Marictur Moulin Rouge. JB (4) 1 McNaughton’s Cedavoch I Love To Boogie, confident 6 months red out of the top drawer, lovely head & eye, clean neck, well filled in front, good bone & feet & so well ribbed, excellent topline & well let down behind. RCC & BP. A star of the future I am sure; 2 Morton’s Matzell Marlies, b/t not quite so well finished through the loin but has a classy head & good basic construction. Rather erratic on the move, needs to settle; 3 Rawson’s Rosenket Krystal Singer. PGB (3) 1 McNaughton’s Cedavoch Altariel, well balanced, sound & unexaggerated b/t, feminine & good size & shape; 2 Cooper’s Sontag Celia Fate, another b/t of quality, well balanced with lovely head & eye. A little elbowy & not so well let down behind as 1; 3 Hinwood’s Longmel Sparkler. LB (6) 1 Hunt’s Carpaccio Precious Pearl, b/t feminine & of excellent size & shape, elegant outline, balanced head, good overall package; 2 Mitchell’s Dubrey’s Dora The Explora, red, not quite the neck of 1 & stronger in skull. Excellent overall balance & in lovely nick; 3 Otter & Wilson’s Come Dancing. OB (7) 1 Norton’s Ch Matzell Maid Of Honour, red of excellent size & shape & has a look of class, feminine yet typical head, clean neck, firm topline, very well condition & balanced throughout, moved steadily & with style. CC & BOB & G2 under Zena Thorn Andrews; 2 Bethel’s Ch Hampdach Alinga, another quality red who went around with style. Preferred underline of 1, but she has excellent overall balance & so much type; 3 Melbourne’s Lauralee Take That to Melriding.
