BEST OF BREED: ARMSTRONG'S LAURALEE PEEPING FAWN
SMOOTH-HAIRED
It is always a pleasure to judge your own breed now we are not a
numerically strong breed, but we certainly make up for it in quality.
PD(2) Interesting class with lots to like about both exhibits. It was
splitting hairs between first and second. 1 Higgins’ Leveliss This Charming Man.
Immature black and tan dog, lovely to go over, masculine head, well arched neck,
level topline that he keeps at all times, covers the ground well. Best PD. 2
Tite’s Rijobeau Caught Red Handed. Red of larger type, pleasing to go over,
correct head, neck and front, well muscled hindquarters, moved out well today. I
preferred the front movement of winner but I am sure they will change places
another day.
JD (1) 1 Locick-Gibbs’ Tealby Pride N Prejudice Now Roleta.
Black and tan of taller type, excellent prosternum, moved ok, but for me I would
like a darker eye to finish the picture.
PGD(1) 1 Furber’s Gameron Smart Choice To Dorysa. Black and tan that
has improved with age, pleasing head, neck and front, moved ok.
LD (2) 1 Chambers’ Rijobeau I Swear Ya Honour At Viewmoor. Smart red
who has come on in leaps and bounds, but today was giving the handler a hard
time, masculine head with correct almond eye, well constructed front, moved out
with style and purpose, pressed hard for the RCC. 2 Ellis’ Tealby Another Rumour
In Red. Red of heavier type to winner, needs to carry less weight which would
make him less heavy in the front and the shoulders, well sprung rib, moved ok,
but I preferred outline of first on the move.
OD (3) 1 McNaughton’s Cedavoch Honour Bound. Black and tan of smaller
type, pleasing head, well arched neck, well placed shoulders, excellent spring
of rib, keeps a good outline on the move, well angulated hindquarters, moved
with style and purpose, pleased to award him the CC. His third, congratulations.
2 Armstrong’s Ch Lauralee Lloyd George. Old favourite of mine, so much has been
written about him, a true stallion, moved and showed well, sympathetically
handled to get the best out of him. RCC. 3 Dalgety’s Thundergay Archduke.
PB (2) 1 Higgins’ Leveliss What She Said. Litter sister to the
puppy dog winner. Lovely to go over, nice head, neck and front, moves out well,
keeping a classic outline at all times, but needs time to settle to finish the
picture. 2 Furber’s Roleta Constant Reminder To Dorysa. Very immature baby who
needs time to settle, different type to the winner, preferred the front assembly
of first, moved out ok but when she is relaxed you will be able to see the best
in her.
JB(1) 1 Williams’ Rijobeau Innet Tu Winnit By Cwmdarhian. Smart
red who is maturing nicely, pleasing head and expression, well filled front,
correct shoulder, excellent topline, well angulated hindquarters, moved out well
covering the ground with ease, pleased to award her the RCC and BP, shows a
promising future.
PGB(3) 1 Dalgety’s Thundergay My Fair Lady. Smart black and tan
carrying far too much weight, correct head, well arched neck, well placed
shoulders, well angulated hindquarters, moved out well. 2 Elis’ Tealby Tittle
Tattle. Black and tan of longer type than first, scores well in all departments,
keeps a nice outline at all times, moved out well.
LB(2) 1 Dalgety’s Thundergay Magdalena. Heavy set black and tan, nice
head, well arched neck, moved out well keeping a good outline, needs to loose
some weight to finish the picture. 2 McNaughton’s Cedavoch Altariel. Different
type to winner, has a lot of nice attributes with a lovely outgoing temperament
but I preferred the front construction of the winner.
OB (3) A class with 3 gleaming reds, all of different types
which I am sure will change place another day. 1 Armstrong’s Lauralee Peeping
Fawn. This is the third time I have judged this young lady and she never
disappoints you on handling her. Gorgeous head and expression, well arched neck,
correct well filled front, well placed shoulders, excellent spring of rib, well
angulated hindquarters that give thrust on the move, moves with verve and style,
keeping a classic outline at all times, she could not be denied the CC, her
third and BOB. Congratulations, looked a picture in the Group. 2 McNaughton’s
Cedavoch I Love To Boogie. Red, different type to winner, pleasing head, well
filled front, correct shoulders, moved out wel, would like to see her carrying a
little less weight, but her underline spoilt the final picture. 3 Locick-Gibbs’
Roleta Keepin Up Appirances.
