DACHSHUND - SMOOTH HAIRED

A nice entry awaited me with some lovely Dachshunds to go over. I was particularly impressed with ribbing and depth of keel, which was evident in the majority. Heads and fronts also pretty good. This is certainly a lovely variety of the Dachshund breed.

PD(5) 1 Hunt's Cwmdarhian Hogan'hero At Carpaccio. Promising young dog of correct size. Particularly liked his movement which was steady and true, covering the ground with driving action, balanced outline with excellent front assembly, topline and ribbing, sound quarters with low hock, lovely pup. BP. 2 Rijobeau Hot On Ya Heels. Another extremely nice pup, a shade shorter than first, very exhuberant temperament which slightly knocked him off balance on the move, stacked looked super and has quality, good pro-sternum, keel and ribbing, well shaped head, lovely expression.

JD(3) 1 Norton's Matzell Man Of The Moment. Lovely red with balanced outline, excellent length of neck, level topline, good depth of rib, super bend of stifle and low hocks, moved true fore and aft. 2 Jesse &Jordan's  Rill Scaramouche. Litter brother to third and fairly similar. I felt that this boy had slightly better shoulder placement, thus moving better in front. Both brothers good in head and eye, ribbing and hindquarters. 3 Marsh &Rill's Black Prince With Marshwick. P

GD(4) 1 Jones' Adnerbs Smooth Criminal. Have admired this chap before and not disappointed on going over him, however, he doesn't want to get any lower to ground, lovely head and expression, well placed shoulders, good pro-sternum, topline and ribbing, correct size, good depth, moved smoothly with drive. A quality dog. 2 Higgins' Leveliss This Charming Man. Taller but well balanced, good reach of neck, firm topline, good forehand and ribs, well turned stifle, moved true fore and aft. 3 Jeffrey's Carpaccio Summer Class At Andax ShCM.

LD(6, 1) Nice class. 1 Ellis' Tealby Another Rumour In Red. Super red boy, full of quality, moving freely covering the ground, correct size with masculine head, lovely expression, long neck, good shoulder and upper arm placement, deep ribbing carried back, level topline, well turned stifles, balanced throughout, loved him. Pleased to award him his third CC. Congratulations. 2 McNaughton's Cedavoch Born To Boogie. Another lovely boy, has balance and style, good head and eye shape, good reach of neck and pro-sternum, excellent ribbing, level topline, good hind angulation, moved with drive, close up to first in many ways and only beaten by a really beautiful male. Res CC. 3 Macdonald's Bensarka Phoenix Sun.

OD(5) 1 Bethel's Rus Grand Ch &Bel Ch Hampdach Famous Rumourz. Quite a masculine dog with good overall balance, good depth of body, ribbing carried back, level topline, good bend of stifle, liked his steady true movement. 2Tite's Ch Rijobeau Caught Red Handed. Quality dog with super head and expression, well placed shoulders, good depth and balance throughout, unfortunately his handler had another dog in this class, trying to handle both made them too unsettled with regard to movement, however, I really liked this young male, hence his second place. 3 Hunt's Ch Lauralee Living Daylights At Carpaccio.

PB(4, 1) 1 Tite's Rijobeau Done N Dusted. Another nice exhibit from this kennel, lovely b/t with super temperament, excellent front assembly, good depth of rib, sound quarters, balanced outline, moving true and like her brother in puppy dog, very exhuberant. 2 Bethel's Hampdach Copperhead Rose. Pretty red in a finer mould, very feminine, good forehand and ribbing, level topline, well bent stifles, just a little erratic on the move but a promising baby. 3 Davies' Undeg Humble Miss Ruby.

JB(3) 1 Lovick-Gibbs' Roleta Gameron Wright To Reply. Attractive red with good depth and balance, lovely head and expression, deep keel with good pro-sternum and ribbing, firm topline, well turned stifles, moved well. 2 Riseborough's Matzell Maid Specially. B/t with good reach of neck, nice forehand with level topline, in good condition with glossy coat. 3 Davies' Undeg Humble Miss Ruby.

PGB(4, 1) 1 Higgins' Leveliss What She Said. This girl had the best movement in the class, attractive head, kind eye, good front assembly and ribbing, level topline moving true fore and aft. 2 Goodacre &Goodacre's Pickardach Maggie Mae. Balanced outline with good length, prominent sternum, ribs carried back, moved well in front, a little erratic behind. 3 Gowlett's Silandajo Scarletina Girl At Minalsa.

LB(4) Nice class. 1 Turner's Marictur Moulin Rouge. Sound, honest bitch with no exaggeration, correct size, excellent front assembly with good shoulders and upper arm, depth of rib and firm, level topline, balanced outline and ease of movement which was true fore and aft, overall a very nice girl. 2 Ellis' Tealby Tittle Tattle. Lovely type, feminine bitch, good reach of neck, leading into well placed shoulders, good pro-sternum and ribbing, well turned stifles, well balanced and moving true, close up to first, litter sister to dog CC, and many of his qualities. 3 Cooper's Hacienda Lo N Behold Its Sontag (Imp).

OB(9) Super class with lovely girls going cardless. 1 Norton's Ch Matzell Mildred. Beautiful red, so well made, gorgeous head and expression, reachy neck flowing into well laid shoulders, excellent front and sternum, ribbing carried back, well bent stifles, strong level topline, full of quality, just the right size, moving true fore and aft, just loved her. CC and BOB. 2 Armstrong's Ch Lauralee Peeping Fawn. Another lovely red girl in a slightly larger mould, beautiful head, long neck, excellent forehand, good length and depth of body, super quarters, quality and balanced all through, excellent movement.
