Crufts 2011 - Smooth Haired

Many thanks for the lovely entry. The two open classes were a pleasure to judge with such high quality with many lovely hounds going cardless. Temperaments were all first class.all dogs were in lovely order and all showed so well. Both challenges were a delight with sound free moving hounds in both.my eventual ticket winners were a joy to watch on the move. My only critisicms are that forward shoulders are still creeping in, nails in places needed attention and would have improved feet. Excessive wrinkle is also starting to creep in. type is still quite varied,but size is more uniform. On the plus side the super quality in open dog bodes well for potential sires and the overall quality in bitches especially open bodes well for future broods.size is more uniform. VD (3,1) 1 Both boys were a credit to their owners and in lovely condition. 1 McCarthy's Ch Seatris Laced With Success. 9yr old black and tan shown and presented well. In good hard condition. Nice outline both stacked and on the move.good reach of neck, well placed forehand. Ribbing carried well back. 2 Stanton's Hampdach Hot Topic. 9yr old red looks better on the move. Good shoulder placement, ribbing, hind angulation. Strides out well.

Good hind angulation used on the move. 2 Norton's Matzell Man Of The Moment. Smart red of nice proportions. Nice head and dark eye, good reach of neck, ribbing well back. Well off for bone. Angulated quarters used on the move. Kept outline. 3 Higgins Leveliss This Charming Man. Elegant black and tan with lots to like. Balanced construction. Good forechest, ribbing, kept topline. Moved positively.

PGD (12,5a) 1 Rawson's Rosenket Nostra Damus. Well made all through presented a nice outline stacked and moving. Good reach of neck well placed forehand,well made hindquarters. Moved well. 2 Jones Adnerbs Smooth Criminal. Balanced red boy. Good reach of neck leads to well placed shoulders. Good bone and feet. Well angulated behind. Good honest movement. 3 Jeffery's Carpaccio Summer Class At Andax. Smutty black and tan, nicely put together. Nice head and expression. Good reach of neck, ribbing well back. Moved out well.
