Smooth-haired: My  first time judging this variety, I was very pleasantly surprised at the  excellent temperaments of all of the exhibits, there was a great variety of  sizes, some of them being overlarge for my taste. Care needs to be taken with  dentition, I was surprised to find quite a few incorrect level bites, the top  teeth should overlap the bottom teeth to give the correct scissor bite, not  meet edge to edge. Thank you to the exhibitors for entering their dogs, a super  entry. PD(1) 1 Coxon's Bensarka Incognito. Red, very happy temperament,  kept his tail high on the move, good length of ribs and correct hind  angulation, just a bit too heavy in front spoiling overall balance. JD(4,  1) 1 Cox, Cobo-Pinto & Fellows' Ralines Dark Knight. Good size black and tan, excellent masculine  head with nice eye and expression, well angulated throughout, moved well  keeping a good topline, just needs to tighten in front. 2 Macdonald's Bensarka  Cosmopolitan, BPD and BP. Red, this was a lovely puppy, that moved out well,  preferred the hind angulation of first, needs time to mature. 3 Starkey's  Carpacio Jasper From Hamoura. PGD(7, 4) 1 Ellis' Tealby Red Between The  Lines. Red, a super overall picture in profile, good head, eye and overall  expression, good length of ribbing, correctly angulated front and rear, moved  out keeping a level topline and was true going forward and coming back. 2  Wand's Leveliss Rakish Paddy. Red, larger size than first, super correct length  of neck, well angulated throughout, moved sound, just preferred the small size  of first. 3 Wilkinson's Hampdach Dark Knight. LD(9, 1) 1 Norton's Matzell  Man Of The Moment. Red. He certainly was the man of the moment today, he was a  super picture of a Dachshund on the stack, excellent body condition. He had  elegance with his lovely head carriage, correct eye and expression, well  balanced throughout, well placed shoulders, good tight elbows, neat feet and  correct length of ribbing, excellent topline and underline and he moved so  soundly with enthusiasm. Well deserved DCC and BOB. 2 Tite's Rijobeau Hot On Ya  Heels, B/T, good houndy head and nice eye shape and expression, good front and  well angulated throughout, tail carriage a little high, just preferred smaller  size of first. 3 Trafford's Dabrenhof Nadal. OD (9, 1) This was a super  class in terms of quality, difficult decisions made. 1 Macdonald's Bensarka  Phoenix Sun. Red, a lovely overall picture presented, superb head, eye and  expression, correctly angulated throughout, good length of neck into correct  shoulder placement, moved sound and true keeping a good topline. RCC. 2 Hunt's  Ch Cwmdarhian Hogans Hero At Carpaccio JW. B/t, very masculine with good head  and expression, good front construction and shoulder placement, correct length  of ribbing, well angulated throughout, unfortunately not very settled in his  movement today. Preferred the smaller size of first. Seago & Gibbard's  Amlida Dramatiker. MPB(1) 1 Hunt's Carpaccio Cognac Diamond Choc. 7  months, a lovely youngster, feminine head with really sweet expression but  retaining the houndy look. Well made throughout, nice size, well angulated,  good front and length of ribbing, moved  soundly. PB(3) 1 Macdonald's  Bensarka Cheeky Vimto. Red, very  elegant puppy, good houndy head with nice expression, good front, nice length  of neck into well placed shoulders with tight elbows and nice feet, good hind  angulation, moved soundly. 2 Bethel's Hampdach One Way Or Another. B/t, another  lovely puppy, all as first, difficult decision but just preferred size of  first. 3 Burke & Manston's Bonavoir Testa Rossa. JB(8, 2) 1 Norton's  Matzell Maid In Time. Red, lovely feminine head with correct eye and sweet  expression. Well angulated throughout, so balanced, well placed shoulders, good  length of ribbing, good front, tight  elbows, good feet, kept good topline on the move. 2 Chauhan's Honey Crisp. Red,  Good head and expression, nice length of neck into well placed shoulders, well  angulated throughout, nice tight elbows, moved soundly, little bit too low to  ground for me. 3 Kerry's Ralines Pretty Woman At Kireton. PGB(10, 3) 1  Chauhan's Sapphire Dazzle. B/t, nice overall picture, good head and expression,  nice length of neck into correct shoulders, tight elbows, good feet, good  length of ribbing, well angulated throughout, moved soundly keeping a good  topline. 2 Lockett-Walters & Walters' Ralines Dirty Dancin. Choc, very smart looking girl,  good head and expression, good shoulder placement, correct angulation, good  front and length of ribbing, little  unsettled today. 3 Hunt's Carpaccio Black Pearl. LB(7, 3) 1 Tite's  Rijobeau Done N Dusted. B/t, good head,  correct eye shape and placement giving a lovely expression, excellent reach of  neck in to correct shoulders, good length of rib, giving an excellent topline,  nicely angulated, moved soundly. 2 Dalgetty's Thundergay Delta Dawn. Very  feminine head and expression, nicely made throughout, excellent movement  keeping a good topline, smaller size than first. 3 Ellis' Tealby Tittle Tattle. OB(8, 2) As with the dogs, the Open Class was fabulous, some lovely  bitches, difficult decisions. 1 Norton's Ch Matzell Mildred. Red, another beautiful  example from this kennel. Excellent head  and expression, correct eye set, good length of neck flowing into correctly  placed shoulders, nice tight elbows and good tight feet, excellent front and  good length of rib giving a fabulous topline, well angulated throughout and in  great body condition, this bitch moved out absolutely sound BCC. 2 Turner's  Marictur Moulin Rouge. Red, another super bitch,, good reach of neck, well  placed shoulders, well constructed front with tight elbows and tidy feet. Well  angulated throughout, moved soundly, just preferred head of first. RCC. 3  Coxon's Bensarka Golden Garter.
