PD 1 Excellmagic Wonderful Way.
Fault judging is, in my opinion, one of the deadly sins to major on the bad
rather on the good often leads to mediocrity being rewarded when real quality
overlooked. In this class I was faced with something of a conundrum, the winner
is a superb example of the breed but his tail set is a little high and this
combined with a cheerful outgoing character (not easily found in this variety)
resulted in a high carriage on the move. He won the class with something to
spare and when it came to the challenge his many qualities gave him sufficient
edge of his competition that even at this level I felt him more than worthy and
therefore was delighted to give him the CC at what I believe was his first
outing. This is the first brindle smooth I've seen, I gather he is an import. I
hope that breeders take advantage of this lovely youngster, not only for his
lovely type, soundness and balance, but for his lovely character. Smart and
elegant with a super conical head with good foreface and a correct eye. Super
front assembly with such excellent shoulders and upper arm giving him superior
reach on the move, good for chest and sufficient ground clearance to give him
unimpeded free stylish movement. A long ribcage, correct underline and a perfect
topline both standing and on the move. Well shaped rear angles and no
inclination to be cow hocked, he as super drive and no inclination to 'tummy
tapping' a fault I hate. Excellent for bone and feet, all round a super
prospect. 2 Rosenket Star Strider At Chikaka. Chocolate with substance and
superb head properties, super forechest. well ribbed, rounded croup with well
muscled quarters, super quality youngster. 3 Sontag Silvan Sorcerer. JD
1 Cedavoch Sanquhar. Smart red youngster with elegant neck and strong solid
topline which he holds well on the move, excellent for chest, good feet and
bone, really gorgeous head and expression, super eye shape, good underline,
shown in super condition. PGD 1 Phaeland Star Double. Black and
tan, nice for type, good in outline, excellent rounded rear with correct set on
of tail and therefore correctly carried, good in neck with a solid topline.
Today was unsettled and needs to gain confidence. LD 1 Matzell
Man Of The Moment. Light red with excellent moderate conformation throughout.
There are one or two exhibits in the breed that exhibit a tendency towards the
extreme when the overly long creates extra length of loin and lowness to the
ground which can affect freedom of movement. This male with his excellent
conformation and moderation could be a tremendous asset in this area. He is
beautifully balanced with an excellent front assembly and stands over well boned
legs rather than sinking between them, elbows
therefore fit neatly against an excellent ribcage. Attractive head and
expression. moderate rear angles. Holds a good topline, sound. Res CC. 2
Cedavoch Strachur. Very attractive dark red, super neck and strong topline, very
good return of upper arm, good underline, good in bone and feet, very sound on
the move. 3 Tiesel Colonel Mustard. OD 1 Ch Cwmdarhian Hogans
Hero At Carpaccio. Excellent outline, nothing exaggerated, attractive
expression, prominent forechest and standing well over his front, moderate
angulation in the rear, sound quality dog lacking in sparkle here today. 2
Matzell Man Of The Match. Very smart red, excellent head and expression, good
length of rib, good forechest, well proportioned, another of super quality who
was lacking the drive on the move today. 3 Ch Phaeland Screw Driver. PB
What a lovely quality class. 1 Carpaccio Herhsey Kisses. Chocolate, feminine,
superb on the move with excellent carriage, maintaining her lovely outline and
moving with such ease and freedom, all of this not only correct but so
attractive to observe, a picture of moderation throughout, she is well
constructed has super ribbing and a short loin, a real top quality hound. Res CC
and Best PB. 2 Sontag Shanda Leah. Red, very exciting prospect, superb for type
and outline, still very much a baby with a touch too much puppy fat which when
she looses and hardens up will reveal a youngster with a bright future. 3 Sontag
Sue Chersels. JB 1 Sontag Shanda Leah. 2 Cedavoch Sornn. A
little more extreme than the winner, great length of neck, good forechest,
correct underline with nice bone and feet. PGB 1 Rijobeau
Cookies And Cream. Black and tan, fabulous head and expression, free moving,
elegant neck, correct ground clearance reveals correct underline, super front
assembly, maintains good outline on the move. 2 Phaeland Shy 'N' Demanding. More
compact black and tan with excellent proportions, has a very nice outline but
carrying way too much
weight which completely spoils her underline,
very nice for her head type and a nice expression. LB 1
Thundergay Bebop A Lula. Thundergay Bebop A Lula. Top quality black and tan
bitch, picture of femininity, moderate length with excellent topline. very
attractive expression and a nice eye, superb front assembly with great layback
of shoulder and a perfect return and length of upper arm, nice boning, well
ribbed extending well back. short loin, rounded rear, sound and stylish, close
up in the challenge. OB 1 Matzell Maid In Time. Top quality red
bitch, exudes femininity, classic headpiece with length and chiselling, conical
with good under jaw and super expression, she has a beautiful outline which is
maintained both standing and on the move, she has a rock hard topline and
correct underline with sufficient clearance to allow unimpeded movement, not
surprising that her front and rear assemblies correspond in their correctness,
ribbing is excellent she has a short strong loin, on the move she displays style
and soundness. CC and BOB then later delighted to see her go BIS in tough
competition. 2 Rijobeau Done N Dusted. Black and tan with classic outline and
standing she has it all, her type and balance, is quite lovely, she was today
somewhat erratic on the move. 3 Ch Carpaccio Cognac Diamond.
