I was pleased with the overall quality. Temperaments were excellent, just one or two youngsters who needs more confidence.

PD (5) 1 Kerry’s Kireton Beau Diddley, b/t. A promising young dog, well balanced for his age. Long head, dark eyes, long neck & well defined forechest. Firm topline, well developed in body for age. Strong well muscled hindquarters. Very good ground clearance. Moved freely; 2 Williams & Moes’ Cwmdarhian San Andreas, red, another quality puppy, slightly deeper in body. Super head, very good reach of neck, prominent forechest. Firm topline, in lovely condition. Moved freely; 3 Raggett’s Amlida Vantage for Dansila. JD (0). BD (1) 1 Clark & Hastie’s Sirius Rising, VHC in previous class. B/t young masculine dog with a super temperament. Shown in lovely condition. Not as balanced & topline could be firmer. Movement was difficult to assess. PGD (9,1a) 1 Andison & Peel’s Fireball Gang Della Parda, red dog who is well balanced, good size. masculine in head, long muscular neck, very good forechest, firm topline, would like to see him put more into movement. In lovely condition; 2 Hunt’s Carpaccio Trouble In Store, b/t well presented. Slightly heavier all over. Looked the part on the table. Masculine head, lovely neck & well laid shoulders, deep well ribbed body, not as strong behind as the winner. Moved quite well; 3 Hone’s Pachego Compare The Market with Oxondachs. LD (5,1) 1 Seago & Gibbard’s Amlida Spirit, choc/t. Liked his outline, very pleasing to go over. Well shaped head, lovely neck & forechest. Good group clearance. Well boned & tight feet. Would like to see him move with more drive; 2 Macdonald’s Jagies Nabucco at Bensarka, red dog in lovely condition. Liked his head & expression. Good reach of neck. Firm topline. Slightly heavier type. Rather unsettled in front movement, moves well in profile; 3 Gatheral-Graham’s Phaeland Seal The Deal. OD (9) An impressive class. 1 Tite’s Phaeland Special Driver at Rijobeau, this dog appealed greatly for breed type & overall balance. True head, excellent neck & lay back of shoulder, prominent forechest. Firm topline, strong hindquarters, tight feet. In super condition & moved freely. CC, I understand this was his 3rd which makes him up. Well done; 2 Armstrong’s Ch Lauralee Nicholas Nickleby, b/t. Lovely to go over. A masculine quality male with a matching head, long muscular neck, correct forechest, slightly deeper in body, firm topline, strong hindquarters, tight feet. Lovely coat. One of the movers today. RCC; 3 Norton’s Matzell Man Of The Match. VD (0).

PB (11,2) 1 Williams & Moes’ Cwmdarhian Hotoff The Press, I was very impressed by this red puppy bitch. Difficult to fault. Great outline, well made throughout. Super head, excellent reach of neck, firm topline, balanced angulation. Lovely mover. BP & RCC, daughter of my BOB; 2 Hunt’s Lauralee Miss Marple at Carpaccio, b/t. Came to her own on the move & moved with good reach. Lovely size & like her outline. Feminine head, very good reach of neck, firm topline. In lovely condition; 3 Reynolds’ Cwmdarhian Look Whos Talkin. JB (4,2) 1 C Look Whos Talkin, 3rd in the previous class, litter sister to the winner. Very similar in type & size. Liked her head & expression, long neck & well laid shoulders, good body for age, firm topline, lovely red coat. Moved freely; 2 Playfair’s Demorgan Secret, different type, somewhat heavier all round. Preferred head of winner, well defined forechest. Firm topline. Moved quite well. Needs a bit more practice on the table. BB (1) 1 D Secret. PGB (9,1) 1 Wand’s Wanderhund Scarlet Witch, high quality red bitch who caught my eye as she entered the ring. Feminine bitch with a lovely outline, pleasing head, dark eye, very good reach of neck & well laid shoulders, strong hindquarters. Tight feet, very good tail carriage. Moved freely; 2 Andison & Peel’s Shardaroba’s In Dream, well presented red bitch with pleasing lines. Pleasing head & feminine expression. Lovely shape just lost on topline when moving; 3 Lovick-Gibbs’ Roleta The Lewis Goodbye. LB (9,1) 1 Macdonald’s Bensarka Sarabi, another very pleasing red bitch, well proportioned. Good ground clearance. Quality head, lovely reach of neck, well developed body, tight elbows, firm topline, firm hocks, moved well; 2 Smith, Connor & Sorrell’s Lady Godiva Vd Mibaf’s Hoeve at Conchur, very smart dapple who is well presented. Loved her size & outline. Good reach of neck & enough forechest, firm body, tight feet. Nice tail carriage, moved freely. Today not in her best coat; 3 Higgins’ Leveliss Hong Kong Garden. OB (7,2) 1 Williams & Moes’ Hampdach Merinda, top class bitch, full of quality & could not be overlooked. A true Dachshund built on flowing lines. Shown in excellent condition. One of the movers today. CC & BOB; 2 McNaughton’s Ch Cedavoch Sornn, not surprised to see is a champion. Very much the same type & size. Well balanced. Liked her head, lovely neck & well developed body, strong quarters, firm topline. Tight feet. Moved well, but could not match movement of winner; 3 Cunningham’s Ir Ch Sontag Say The Word for Celandine. VB (3) 1 Norton’s Ch Matzell Mildred, I gave this high quality bitch her first CC some years ago & still like her very much. She has retain her excellent outline & movement. Shown in excellent condition. Lovely to see her again; 2 Cunningham’s Ir Ch Carpaccio Elegant Emerald for Celandine, free moving veteran, lovely size & well balanced. Lovely head, forechest & firm topline; 3 Turner’s Marictur Moulin Rouge.
