A most enjoyable day with some lovely Smooths to go
over. I last judged this variety in 2011 and was just as thrilled with
my winners today as I was then. You really have some good quality
Smooths. Size is so uniform throughout and your girls are so feminine.
Looking back through my past judging records of this variety I see that
Lauralee, Hampdach and Phealand breeding have previously done well under
me on several occassions and Im not surprised but thrilled that once
again this breeding figured in my main winners today. Certainly a credit
to their dedicated breeders and lucky owners. Some rather plain heads
have creeped in with some lacking in underjaw and being rather broad
over the skull. Some wrinkle was evident on some but not in abundance.
No incorrect bites and no kinky tails though a few where highly set. My
BOB is a real Stallion Hound in fit hard condition and my BOS was a real
find that impressed me so much, both complementing each other so well.
Thank you to the committee for their hospitality and to my steward Billy
Rowell all helping to make my day so enjoyable. I appreciated my entry
especially with The National being held the following day where both my
CC winners repeated their wins and the bitch gaining her much deserved
crown! V (3). 1, Norton's Ch Matzell Mildred, beautifully maid
throughout, lovely size and so feminine, super head and expression, dark
almond shaped eye, well arched neck leading into very good shoulders,
lovely body shape and proportions, neat and correct throughout, well

His overall make and shape greatly appealed. OD (7,1) Lovely quality
class, 1, CC and BOB, Armstrong's Ch Lauralee Nicholas Nickleby, Simply
stunning 2 year old B/T on top form. His coat was gleaming and muscular

he was the closest exhibit here today to match my interpretation of our
breed standard. Congratulations. 2 and RDCC, Chauhan and Cerasini's GCh

well angulated shoulders, very good bone and feet, ample for chest and
length of keel, good ribbing and body proportions, correct top and

another that covers the ground in great style in profile. Gives a really
pleasing overall picture, for me Nicholas had a touch more ground
clearance but it was a close thing between these two top quality hounds
and given the chance I'm sure he will go onto much bigger things,
lovely. 3 Seago and Gibbard's Ch Amlida Dreamtiker. MPB (3,2) 1,
