A lovely entry awaited me & I was pleased with the quality of the exhibits, which made for some close decisions & I enjoyed my day.
MPD & PD (0). JD (2) 1 Skipper’s Lauralee Artful Dodger, smart 16 month b/t of pleasing size & type, very well balanced with a clean cut outline. Lovely conical head, good neck & topline, well angulated fore & aft. Ribs good. Well back & quarters are well muscled. His movement is neat coming on but at present is slightly bowed behind. However he strides out smartly in profile & keeps a good shape; 2 Goffin-Thorogood’s Matzell Malizani, attractive 13 month red, different in type & larger in frame to 1 but also had a lot to like. Handsome masculine head. Good neck, well angulated throughout. Good depth to rib. Moved well, but not as settled as 1 today & still needs to firm up a tad, just need more time to mature, promising. PGD (3,1a) 1 Kerry’s Kireton Beau Diddley, I liked this pleasing b/t youngster who is well bodied firm in outline with good bone & substance. Lovely masculine head, reachy neck well filled oval front ribs are well sprung & go well back, good rear angulation. Moved soundly has a good head carriage & covered the ground well; 2 Clark & Hastie’s Sirius Rising, neat b/t boy of 19 months who is still very immature attractive conical head, good neck, enough forechest, nicely ribbed back, well angulated rear. Not at all settle either stacked or on the move & needs to relax more. Is still young & has time on his side. LD (6,2a) 1 MacDonald’s Jagies Nabucco at Bensarka, well constructed red, please for size & type, soundly made with good bone & feet. Pleasing head & expression. Good neck flowing into firm topline, ribs are carried well back with good top & underline. Strong well made quarters. Moved out soundly with a good head carriage. Close up in challenge; 2 Payton’s Minalsa Mulberry of Marajo, quality s/r. liked his lovely conical head & expression, balanced angulation front & rear with good depth & length of rib, moved out freely with good rear drive. Would have liked a little more ground clearance, showed well; 3 Crosbie & Holroyd’s Bonavoir Red Hector. OD (6) Super class of quality males. 1 Armstrong’s Ch Lauralee Nicholas Nickleby, I was immediately drawn to this handsome b/t lad who I gave JD to as a roly poly youngster last time I judged he is of a high quality & has matured into an impressive hound. Very masculine in outlook with a firm well knit body. Lovely outline & good ground clearance. Appealed for size & type is well balanced & beautifully put together. Loved his houndy head & strong jaw, good length of neck which flows into well placed shoulders with good upperarm, his ribs are well sprung & carried well back with short loin, well muscled quarter with short strong hocks. Moved so soundly true away & back with excellent read drive & good forward reach in profile. In lovely coat & gleaming condition. An excellent showman who carried himself so well. Pleased to award his CC & BOB; 2 Tite’s Ch Phaeland Special Driver at Rijobeau, this quality 2 year upstanding red has also matured into a smart lad since I last judged him. Handsome conical head, dark eye & appealing expression, long neck & firm topline, stands on good bone & neat feet. Well filled front with close fitting elbows, ribs go well back. His quarters are strong & well muscled. In lovely coat & condition carrying just the right amount of weight. Holds a good shape on the move & very sound & free in his movement. RCC; 3 Seago & Gibbard’s Amlida Spirit. VD (1) 1 MacDonald’s Multi Ch Bensarka Phoenix Sun, very elegant red, full of quality, who I have done well before is looking really good for his 7½ years. Love his size & type, well constructed throughout with good top & underline. Was sound in movement with an excellent head carriage & outline. Shown in lovely coat & condition. BV & delighted when he took G.
MPB (3) 1 Armstrong’s Lauralee To The Manor Born, delightful 8 month red, very feminine & beautifully constructed. Lovely head & dark eye. God bone & neat feet, like her well proportioned body, good angulation front & rear. Neat well made front with snug fitting elbows. Moved freely keeping a good topline. Lovely showgirl, must have a rosy future. BP, showed well in the puppy hound group to take G4; 2 Tite’s Phaeland Sweet Dancer, elegant s/r baby of 7 months. Lovely for type, nicely put together with balanced angulation, well ribbed back. Feminine head & dark eye. Moved out smartly at present is still carrying a shade too much weight on her front & needs time to firm up; 3 Clark & Hastie’s Demorgan Tania. PB (5) 1 Lockett-Walters & McDermot’s Ralines For Pete’s Sake, smart b/t, 10 months. Appealed for size & type with a lovely conical head, well set leathers & good neck. Well angulated throughout, long ribbing with good width, lovely bone & feet moved out smartly & is very soundly with good rear drive, happy temperament, promising baby; 2 MacDonald’s Bensarka I Like Twucks, pleasing red also 10 months & close up to 1. Very much in the mould of her side & has many of his qualities. Liked her feminine head, reachy neck. Well made front & long ribbing. Moved soundly away & back, keeping a good topline. Not quite the rear drive of 1 today. Well handled & presented; 3 Tite’s Rijobeau Caught On Camera. JB (3,1) 1 Hunt’s Lauralee Miss Marple at Carpaccio, I was immediately drawn to this super quality b/t girl who I see is a 15 month daughter of my BOB. She is beautifully made, very feminine of an ideal size with a touch of elegance & is lovely to go over. Pleasing head & expression, neck flows smoothly into correctly placed shoulders with good return of upper arm, well filled forechest, long ribbing & short loin & well angulated rear. Held a good shape both standing & on the move & was shown in gleaming coat & condition. Moved true away & back with free easy stride in profile. Loved everything about her, pleased to award CC; 2 Stringfellow’s Oxondachs Amethyst at Silvatica, neat bit of 13 months & still quite immature, attractive head & expression. Well filled front, nicely ribbed back with good top & underline, can still drop a little in hindquarters. A little unsettled at times but moved out smartly in profile in lovely coat & condition. PGB (3) 1 Kerry’s Kireton Daisy Belle, smart well made b/t who was a fidget on the table, however got her act together on the move, sound both ways & really striding out in profile. Liked her size & type. Lovely conical head, elegant neck. Neat front, good ribbing & quarters. Would ideally like a little more ground clearance, but an overall sound girl. Sympathetically handled to get the best out of her; 2 Alton’s Kiersha Futures Dream, mature b/t just 2½ years. Pleasing overall shape, conical head, good neck & topline, well ribbed back, good bone & neat feet, adequate ground clearance, moved out soundly. Holding a good shape. Just didn’t find her very feminine; 3 Seago & Gibbard’s Amlida Asintended. LB (2) 1 Paterson’s Phaeland Sent Direct to Ambiesque, stylish red who I see is litter sister to my RCC. Lovely for size & type, beautifully put together with a clean cut outline. Feminine head & expression. Reachy neck, well constructed with balanced angulation front & rear, well proportioned body, long ribbing & firm topline, moved soundly with a free easy stride. RCC; 2 MacDonald’s Bensarka Sarabi, very elegant s/r of a pleasing size & shape. Feminine head & dark eye, lengthy neck that flows into a firm topline, well constructed throughout with good ribbing & short strong loin, good bone & neat feet. Quality girl who moved soundly. Not quite the freedom in profile movement today, liked her a lot. OB (4,1) 1 Bennett’s Shardaroba’s Dream Baby, quality 3 year red of an excellent type, who is really well made & pleased in outline. Liked her attractive feminine head & expression, well filled forechest, close fitting elbows, long ribbing, good in both top & underline, well angulated hindquarters, moved out smartly, sound away & back with good forward reach & drive. Has a touch of elegance & showed well; 2 Armstrong’s Lauralee Girl Crush, very smart red litter sister to my CC winner. Lovely conical head, reachy neck, well made throughout with good angulation front & rear. Her ribs are well sprung & go well back, lovely bone & neat feet, good ground clearance, moved out soundly with good rear drive. Ideally would just have liked her a tad smaller but a quality girl who must have a bright future. VB (1) 1 Higgins’ Ch Leveliss What She Said, lovely 7½ years b/t with good bone & substance & presents a pleasing outline. Attractive feminine head, good length of neck, balanced angulation fore & aft. Her ribs are deep & well sprung & her feet are well padded. Is looking really good for her age & holds herself well on the go around, moving soundly with a free easy stride.
