VD (1) 1 Starkey's Carpaccio Jasper From Hamoura ShCM, b/t of extremely good quality. Not exaggerated in length of head, beautiful eyes for shape, colour and expression, uses his reach of neck to advantage, level backline with a hint of a rise over the loin. Shining jacket completed a very satisfactory figure and he moved out with a positive stride.
JD (1) 1 Jones' Adnerbs Rock-A-Billy Rebel, red with a pleasing headpiece, good ears, eye a shade hard for me, enough neck, shade over long in loin but he has a decent reach of neck and his back is firm. Excellent keel, perhaps could benefit from a little more bone but his feet are good. He circled the ring with a positive and balanced stride showing good hock extension.
LD (4) 1 & Res CC Manish's Wanderhund Viva Las Vegas the more I looked at this handsome headed b/t the more he appealed. He is so well balanced in length/height ratios, excellent ribbing, short loin, good croup and tail and his hindquarters are so well muscled and angulated with the firmest of hocks. His head has quality, a decent length, strong underjaw, beautiful eyes and expression. On the move he excelled, fluent, active and keeping his shape so well. 2 Hunt's Laurelee Huckleberry Finn at Carpaccio JW, this red is another very good quality example of the breed. A size larger all through than the winner, beautiful headpiece, correct eyes and ears combining to give him a handsome appearance. Blessed with a good neck and fore assembly, coat was smooth and shining and he co-operated so well with his handler. Not quite the firmness in pastern of Vegas. 3 & BP William & Moes Cwmdarhian Hot Onya Heels.
OD (6,1) 1 & CC McNaughton's Ch Carper Ag Von Nordor (Imp FCA), a red of outstanding make and shape which simply commanded the class from the word go! A male of real quality, beautiful headpiece, correct ears frame the face so well, his muzzle has strength with a good underjaw, the neck almost arched and lengthy and his ribcage well sprung and not over deep. He has good angulation both ends and his free striding action confirmed he had to be the winner. 2 Seago & Gibbard's Amlida Spirit, a very attractive chocolate which is so stylish, especially on the move. A clean wedge head, smooth cheeked, such expressive and bright eyes. Firm in a well muscled body, enough neck, shade close going away but his side action was even striding and positive. In super coat. 3 Armstrong's Ch Laurelee Nicholas Nickleby.
SPEC BEG B (1) 1 Chapman-Reith's Wanderhund Let's Celebrate for Havenshund, this b/t has much to like. Ultra feminine in head, delightful expression from such dark, well shaped eyes. Glossiest of jackets, super neck and firm backline. Her rear angulation is good, just a little narrow in front.
PB (6) 1 William & Moes' Cwmdarhian Welsh Affair, very stylish red with areally good fore assembly, well balanced head with especially good ears and underjaw. Nice neck, well laid shoulders, little loose in pastern at present, nicely ribbed with a level back and really good hindquarters. Stunning coat condition and she covered the ground well in profile. Could easily finish with her title once matured. 2 Higgin's Leveliss Rock Lobster, pleasing head and just about enough length of neck. Not quite the layback in front of the first but she is well ribbed, shortish loin, well set tail and in excellent coat. Not yet such an accomplished performer as the winner and she was not quite so outgoing as she went around the ring. 3 Stark's Adnerbs Won Vision of Gabannium.
JB (3) 1 William & Moes Cwmdarhian The Dutchess red, long, low and ever so shapely!! Has a lovely arched neck which she uses to advantage, ribcage really well developed, comparatively short loin and such good muscle definition in herhindquarters. Her jacket is truly smooth and shone with well being. She moved around the ring with drive and confidence. 2 McNaughton's Cedavoch Urbane, this red had more my type of head than the winner but she played her handler up so much that it ruined her chances. A delight to handle on the table as she is really good as far as construction goes, well laid shoulders, decent neck, good ribbing and supple loin. Did not put all in on the move which edged the red card to the Dutchess. 3 Hunt's Carpaccio Faberge.
PGB (2) 1 Hinwood's Longmel Special Truffle, nice sized red, underline cuts up a bit too sharply for me and she could be shorter coupled. I liked her head and expression, she has enough neck, holds herself well even on the move where her smooth, steady action won her the class. 2 Allam's Meganhol Daydream Believer, this b/t has just about enough forechest, very good reach iof neck, ribcage could carry further back and her loin is a tad too long. She has a good head, well shaped eyes and a decent underjaw. On the move she did not acquit herself as smoothly as the first and needs to firm up in hock when going away.
LB (3) 1 CC & BOB Mtchell's Cedavoch Solar Storm at Bronia, a real cracker of a femme fatale, red in colour, oozes quality in head and has a delightful expression. Super neck, so correctly ribbed and bodied, well angulated both ends, spotless jacket and moved around the ring with such precision and drive. Delighted to learn that this win makes her up and that she is her owner's first Standard Smooth Champion and even more remarkable she is her 75th UK Champion!! 2 Jones' Adnerbs Lexi Get Fizzical JW Sh CM another really smart red bitch of good type, well constructed and shown in such good bloom. Pretty head and expression, enough neck and good ribbing but she does tend to slacken her backline off when on the stack which detracts from her appeal. Once moving, it tightens and she floats around the ring showing good hock use and keeping her shape. 3 Wand's Wanderhund Phoenix Sky.
OB (5) The best class of the day. Simply spoiled for choice. 1 & Res CCWilliams & Moes Ch/Ir Ch Cwmdarhian Look Who's Talkin this is a quality red with a super outline as she is blessed with such a good neck, holds her head high, her fore assembly is good, lovely keel definition and a spirit level back. Ample substance throughout, shown in superb coat and she acquits herself so well on the move. Looks every inch the titleholder she is. 2 McNaughton's Ch Cedavoch Rainstorm, another very worthy Champion, again red in colour with a delightful head, eyes and ears, well arched neck of good length, level back, smooth croup and well set tail. Not quite the rear angulation of the winner and I felt she could have used her hocks a little more positively. 3 Armstrong's ChLauralee To The Manor Born
