Birmingham National Championship Show 2021
BEST OF BREED : 4772 MCNAUGHTON, Ms L Cedavoch Struuann
Thank you for one of the best numerical entries this year. I found type to be
quite varied. Without doubt there are some good Smooth’s. I enjoyed judging this
entry, presentation was super, not much you can hide on these dogs & as ever you
can only judge what you have in front of you on the day. The way an exhibit
performs at that moment in time obviously excludes anything that they have
previously done. My notes on each individual dog reflects this. Without doubt I
found my BOB very exciting & have no doubt that he will make a big name for
himself

1st: 4772 MCNAUGHTON, Ms L Cedavoch Struuann. Absolutely stunning 9 month Red in
every way. He really is special & quite exceptional. Full of breed type & shouts
quality. Stunning head & expression, dark eyes & points throughout, long well
arched neck that he uses so well on the move. Copy book shoulders & good tight
elbows. Plenty of forechest that sits so neatly in his crook, keel extends well
back. Super bone throughout on exceptional feet. Ribbing & body is well
developed for his age, cast iron topline, short thick loins. Quarters are well
made, hammy & a good length of second thigh. Hocks are strong & parallel & this
reflects on the move with his sound driving action from behind. So precise in
front action, his outline & carriage in profile is really something with
fabulous reach in front & follow through from behind. In gleaming coat &
condition. I had no hesitation in awarding him The CC (his second), BOB & BP &
he continued to put up a fabulous performance in the group where he gained many
admirers from those who obviously know a very good Dachshund. Congratulations &
good luck with him
2nd: 4777 PAGET, Mr M J & CARROLL, Mr G Marvale Seal The Deal. Just short of 12
months & a really lovely boy who excels in breed type. Shorter coupled than 1 &
not the drive from behind when it came to the crunch. Loved his head & confident
outlook, beautiful oval shaped eyes, long well arched neck, very good shoulders
& tight elbows, plenty of forechest, ribbing is well developed for his age &
extends well back. Short thick loins leading into well muscled quarters. Tail
correctly set. Certainly ultra sound coming towards me & a real showman in
profile retaining an appealing outline. No doubt will go onto bigger things

month B/T. His temperament & outgoing personality needs to be bottled!. Nothing
phased this boy, so eager to please. Lovely head & eye, strong teeth & jaws,
well arched neck leading into very good shoulders which are beautifully muscled.
Super bone, legs & feet, plenty of forechest that fits so neatly with plenty of
width throughout. Ribbing is good with correct top & underlines, short thick
loins leading into well angulated quarters. Hocks are strong & parallel & his
tail set is clearly a continuation of his spine. Ultra sound coming & going,
moving out so freely & with ease in profile covering the ground with great style
while retaining a faultless outline. RDCC & without doubt one that will go onto
bigger things

1st: 4754 HEELS, Mrs C J & HEELS, Miss K Daxanory Menacing Dennis. 2 yr Red that
excels in profile action. Very good type & my hands flowed going over him.
Lovely head & expression, correct ratio’s from muzzle to skull, enough neck
leading into well placed shoulders, correct height to length ratio’s with super
body & ribbing. Short thick loins, well muscled quarters with strong parallel
hocks. Ultra sound going away but here a shade untidy coming towards me.
Beautiful in profile retaining a lovely outline that draws your eye & secured
him the class
2nd: 4770 MCNAUGHTON, Ms L cedavoch finwe. 18 month Red, lovely size & type.
Totally in proportion throughout. Appealing head & expression, well arched neck,
plenty of width throughout, excels in body & ribbing, correct top & underlines,
short strong loins leading into thickly made hammy quarters. Moving a shade wide
in front coming towards me & not as precise as 1 here going away. Another who
looks good in profile with his defiant head carrige

1st: 4776 MOES WILLIAMS, Mr C Ch Cwmdarhian Rocket Man. 2 year Red, masculine
throughout without any sign of being course. Strong head & houndy expression
with the strongest of jaws & big teeth. Long elegant neck which he uses so well
on the move, good shoulders with correct angulation, feet could be better, well
filled front with plenty of width throughout, very good ribbing with short
loins. Well made hind quarters with the desired length of second thigh, hocks
are strong & parallel. Looks really good in profile with his easy action &
lovely head carriage.Certainly was the stallion hound here & for me just a
little bit too much of him especially up against the youngsters in the
challenge. Will I’m sure continue to appeal to many
2nd: 4764 KERRY, Mrs T & Miss R Kireton Beau Diddley. Super for type, 6 yr B/T
is certainly fit for function & has less exageration than the winner which
appealed. Very good head & expression, lovely dark almond shaped eyes, strong
well muscled neck, very good shoulders, tight elbows & everything when viewed
front on fits so beautifully. Very good body & ribbing, firm backline, short
thick loins. Well made quarters with enough angulation with rock hard muscles.
Hocks are strong & parallel. Moved soundly coming & going & although he retained
a very good outline in profile, here he didn’t open his gait or match the
elegance of 1. Coat gleaming & condition throughout an object lesson to us all.

1st: 4786 STARKEY, Mrs W Ch Carpaccio Jasper From Hamoura Sh.CM. I found this
really lovely 10 yr old B/T so good to go over on the table. Your hands flow
from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail. When he hits the floor he
doesn’t dissapoint either, he is elegant & retains a faultless outline in
profile clearly enjoying himself & showing of his many virtues. Super for size &
type & a credit to his owner

1st: 4763 JENNINGS, Miss J Clentry Sweet Melody. Such a feminine baby of just 6
months. Loved her size, type & overall shape, sweetest of heads & dark points
throughout, enough neck leading into very good shoulders for one so young.
Plenty of front & width, feet need to tighten & they will, good ribbing, enough
angulation behind, tail correctly set & never stopped wagging!. So sound for one
so young & in profile clearly displays already good reach & follow through.
Absolutely delightful!
2nd: 4781 PEEL, Ms K & ANDISON, Mr J Clentry Little Me. Stunning colour,
beautifully marked 9 month Brindle & still full of puppy sloppiness which is
absolutely fine. In stance she has it all there ready to develop & firm up to.
Gorgeous head & expression, so feminine, well arched neck, shoulders are in the
right place & once tightened her front will be fabulous. Good body & ribbing,
enough angulation behind with short hocks. No where near developed as 1 even
though that little bit older, but one I will continue to watch as she develops
as she appeals for lots of reasons, another delightful baby

1st: 4759 HIGGINS, Mr P Ralines lindy Hop into Leveliss. I really fell for this
10 month B/T. A real beauty that just shouts breed type. So well made & balanced
throughout. Her head & feminine outlook is classic, lovely dark almond shaped
eyes finish her outlook perfectly. Elegant neck carrige lead into good shoulders
on the best of legs & feet, plenty of forechest & width throughout, cast iron
backline & correct underline with the desired amount of ground clearance. Short
thick loins & well developed & angulated quarters. Moving ultra sound coming &
going & in profile moved out elegantly on a loose lead whilst retaining her
outline. Out of my BCC winner, the same beautiful type & pushed hard in the
challenge
2nd: 4774 MELBOURNE, Mrs D Marvale Double Dealing with Melriding. Very elegant &
arrogant. 12 month B/t who also has the sweetest head & expression. Long elegant
neck leading into very good shoulders with the tightest of elbows. Super bone &
feet. Very good ribbing that extends well back, a shade longer cast than 1 but
in proportion. Enough angulation behind & so well muscled throughout. Not as
precise here as 1 coming & going although her profile action really demands a
second look & never falters. In gleaming condition

1st: 4784 ROBERTS & SMITH, Mrs & Miss E Rijobeau Cherry Berry. 21 month clear
red, lovely type, very good head & expression, long elegant neck, good
shoulders, more than enough breast bone & width, feet could be better, good body
& ribbing although would benefit from loosing a few pounds, short thick loins &
nicely made behind. Long & low but her height to length ratio’s suit her. Looks
good in profile & I’m sure will be able to hold her own with others once she
gets a little fitter.

1st: 4785 STARK, Mr & Mrs M Adnerbs Won Vision Of Gobannium JW. 3 yr S/Red that
is built on lovely flowing lines & is free from exaggeration. Beautiful head &
expression with the darkest of points, well arched neck which she uses so well
on the move. First class shoulders, tight elbows on the best of bone & super
feet. Correct top & underlines, short thick loins leading into well angulated
quarters that are strong on the neatest of short parallel hocks. Sound enough
coming & going, no sign of being narrow. In profile she projects herself so well
retaining a lovely outline that’s free from exaggeration while covering the
ground effortlessly. One that will always figure I’m sure
2nd: 4771 MCNAUGHTON, Ms L Cedavoch Quenya. 18 month B/T with the most pleasing
head & expression. Well arched neck leading into good shoulders & tight elbows.
Plenty of width & depth through her front with her keel extending well back.
Ribbing is long & well developed & her hind angulation is good with strong firm
hocks. Ultra sound coming & going, she opens her gait really well in profile but
has a tendency to dip slightly behind the withers at times due to being a little
too proud with her head carriage. Slightly more exaggerated than 1 but quite
pleasing throughout with a delightful temperament

1st: 4753 CHAUHAN, Dr M Adnerb Forever Charmed at Raajput. 18 month Red who
really captivated me, sheer elegance personified & I loved it. Together with her
ultra femininity & elegance in profile I couldn’t take my eyes off her. Most
beautiful head expression with the darkest of almond shaped eyes. Long elegant
neck leading into very good shoulders, tight elbows & a Keel that extends well
back. Very good length of ribbing with correct top & underlines. Short thick
loins leading into well made hammy quarters that are strong on short neat hocks.
Her tail is correctly set & carried at all times. Coming & going she is ultra
sound but its her profile action that leaves you breathless, sheer elegance with
everything flowing & moving so correctly together in harmony. A real beauty who
will only continue to improve with time & when fully mature without doubt will
be hard to get passed. RBCC
2nd: 4757 HIGGINS, Mr P Leveliss Rock Lobster. More mature 2 year Red, just not
the elegance throughout as 1 although a well made honest bitch. Appealing head &
expression with dark points throughout, well muscled neck leading into well
placed shoulders although not quite the layback as 1. Forechest fits neatly into
the croup, good top & underlines with decent ribbing although I think would look
even better with a little less weight. Her quarters are balanced with enough
angulation on solid hocks. She moves out positively coming & going & holds
herself well in profile keeping a firm backline

1st: 4767 LOCKETT-WALTERS, Mrs R Ralines For Pete's Sake. 6 yr B/T bitch that
was bang on form. She is classic in type & outlook & shown at all times on a
loose lead without any stringing up & moved at correct sensible pace. Ultra
feminine in head with the most beautiful expressive dark eyes, well defined
arched neck that she uses so well at all times to project herself. First class
shoulders & front construction, everything fitting just as it should. Super bone
& feet. Ribbing is well sprung & extends well back with correct top &
underlines. Short firm loins lead into equally well angulated hind quarters
which are balanced & have the correct length of second thigh. Hocks are solid &
parallel with her tail & set being a clear continuation of her spine. Ultra
sound coming & going & in profile covers the ground easily with no effort
clearly displaying a natural free gait. Coat was gleaming with muscles an
Olympian would be proud off. An absolute delight to have a Smooth that reminded
me of days gone by & to award her The BCC which I understand is her well
deserved fourth, congratulations
2nd: 4751 CHAUHAN, Dr M Adnerbs Take A Chance On Me At Raajput. 2 yr B/T with
her batteries working on overdrive. I’ve always admired this beautiful girl who
now carries her well deserved title. Lovely type & so free moving clearly
displaying at all times her amazing temperament. Lovely head & expression, super
shoulders & front, plenty of width throughout. Very good body & ribbing with
cast iron backline, beautifully made behind & another with amazing muscles &
condition throughout. Very sound coming & going & retains a lovely outline in
profile. However today in her eagerness to please her profile action at times
gave me the impression that she was scrambling & loosing co-ordination. Then up
against her kennel mate for The RCC the Limit winner just stole my heart with
her femininity. One very lucky owner!
