I would like to begin by thanking the Scottish Kennel Club Committee for inviting me to judge the non CC classes at their October 2021 show. Well done for going ahead with the back to back shows amidst a back drop of uncertainty with the ongoing pandemic issues. Thank you to my steward for keeping the classes moving briskly and on time. Finally, I would like to thank the exhibitors for their entry and allowing me to go over their pride and joys. There were some lovely examples of the breed present, however, I did note that some of the miniature wires were closer in the rear than I would have preferred.
PD/B (2,1) 1 Jennings’ Clentry Sweet Melody. Red bitch full of puppy happiness, flowed freely round the ring and when stood demonstrated a long neckline leading down into nice topline into muscled hindquarters, close knit feet and well ribbed with good bone BP.
PGD/B (8, 3) 1 Melbourne’s Marvale Double Dealing With Melriding. BOB. Black and tan bitch that caught my eye straight away. Both fore and hindquarters had good angulation and as well as solidly muscled. Elegant head with strong jaw nicely placed ears, long muscular neck and level topline with good rib. Moved with smoothness, elegance and presence round the ring. BOB, BB. 2 Paget & Carroll’s Marvale Seal The Deal. Black and tan male. Very much like first, equally balanced and with the regal muscular male physique you would expect, on another day would have easily placed first, however, on this occasion first had that little more presence and grace when on the move BD.
OD/B (5, 3) 1 Reynolds’ Cwmdarhian San Domenico Of Glenariff (RAF). Boy with good angulation front and rear, good rib and depth of chest moved smoothly round the ring. RBD. 2 Macdonald & Macdonald’s Bensarka Limerick. Strong jaw and a nicely proportioned head, good length of neck and down into a good topline, muscular forequarters with good rib and keel moved nicely round the ring although not quite as smoothly as first.
SBD/D (2,1) 1 Playfair’s Kaimknowe Capella. Head of correct proportions with nicely set ears, good angulation in the fore and hindquarters with a nice topline. Slightly longer in the leg and moved smoothly and purposely round the ring RBB.
