I consider movement to be very important. I look for parallel movement with a free, easy stride. The top awards went to exhibits that met this criteria.
Puppy Dog
1st McNaughton’s Cedavoch Struuann. This confident, composed dog moved very well. He was collected and all of a piece. Well balanced conical head with dark eyes. Good length of neck running into well layed shoulders with a good length of upper arm. Well developed chest, ribbing carried well back. Broad hind quarters, well padded feet. Movement was parallel coming and going, free with good drive from behind. BP. RDCC
2nd Morton & Morgan’s Lauralee Lannister At Cotherstone. Good head of correct proportions with dark eyes. Good length of neck running into well placed shoulders. Level top line held standing and on the move. Ribbing of good length. Sufficient chest. Well padded feet. Movement was somewhat untidy.
3rd Steel & Aitken’s Carpaccio Band Of Silver.
Yearling Dog
1st Andison and Peel’s The Hinks Dream Twizzlers (IMP ESP) Good head with dark eyes. Good length of neck running into well layed shoulders. Well developed chest, ribbing carried well back. Top line level standing and kept on the move. Parallel action coming and going. Would prefer better arch to feet.
Novice Dog
1st Playfair’s Kaimknowe Ansas. Head of good proportions with correct eye colour. Good length of neck. Shoulders could be layed back further. Well developed chest. Ribbing of good length. Well padded feet which could have a better arch. Movement was parallel coming and going.
Limit Dog
1st Reynolds Cwmdarhian San Domenico At Glenariff. RAF. A confident
dog with conical head and dark eyes. A little longer in body than 2. Good length
of neck, well layed shoulders and well developed chest. Level top line. Ribbing
of good length. Correct parallel movement. In the challenge he moved out well
with driving action from behind to take the DCC and BOB
2nd McNaughton’s Cedavoch Finwe. Conical head with dark eyes. Body length slightly shorter than 1. Good length of neck, well layed shoulders and prominent chest. Level top line, good length of ribbing. Movement was a little unsettled.
Veteran Dog
1st Steel & Aitken’s Proud Hunter Big Mac (IMP HUN) 7 years old.
Good head with dark eyes. Slightly greying muzzle. Neck could be a shade longer.
Well positioned shoulders, prominent chest, sufficient ribbing. Movement was
better in front and good in profile. BV
Puppy Bitch
1st Andison & Peel’s Cedavoch Argentine Tango. Well proportioned head with dark eyes. Good length of neck leading into well layed shoulders with corresponding good length of upper arm. Well developed chest, level top line. Unsettled which showed in her movement which was not positive. RBOS
Junior Bitch
1st Playfair’s Kaimknowe Capella. Good head with dark eyes. Neck of good length, well layed shoulders, level top line. Chest could be a little more prominent for better balance. Ribbing could be carried back a little further. Would like more arch to the feet. Hind movement was better than front which was a little choppy.
Limit Bitch
1st Rodger’s Cedavoch Sophisticate At Thundergay. Conical, feminine head with dark eyes. Good length of neck leading into well layed shoulders with corresponding good length of upper arm. Well developed chest, ribbing carried well back. Good hind quarters, good feet. Moved freely with parallel action coming and going to take the BCC
2nd Tomlinson’s Bensarka Emerald Isle To Melisdax. Good head with dark eyes. Good length of neck running into well laid shoulders. Ribbing could be carried back a little further. This bitch did not show herself to best advantage on the day. She hunched up her body which spoilt her top line and overall shape. Movement was somewhat untidy.
Veteran Bitch
1st Rodger’s CH Thundergay Bebop A Lula. 10 years old. Weight a little heavy for her frame. Little grey on muzzle. Good length of neck leading into well positioned shoulders. Good chest, kept a level top line standing and moving. Steady movement coming and going.
