Some general observations since the last time I judged this variety, there is a lot of variance in type. Some front constructions where over developed with some shoulders too upright, due to the lack of return of upper arm. Movement was very varied. Size is another challenge with some being too small. Heads are generally ok and not so many with pump handle tailsets.

MPD (3) 1 Hunt’s Carpaccio Red Knight. CC & BP, BOB. Red. Pleasing head and expression with correct conical shape. Good to see a prosternum and a keel, well ribbed back with a good loin and topline into a well made rear. Good rear movement with correct tail carriage. In good coat and condition and happy on the move. 2 Andison & Peel’s Clentry Tiger Feet. Happy character with a good conical head shape. Almond shaped eye with correct ear set. Good bone and feet, well ribbed back, but a touch long in the loin and hence lost his topline on the move. Should firm up with age. 3 Chapman-Reith’s Hayvenhund Hunky Dory

PD (5) 1 Young’s Craimose Adonis. Full of puppy exuberance and happy on the move. Good straight front with correct bone and with well arched feet. Well ribbed and good length of loin. Kept a level topline on the move, with reasonably good movement aft. This coming from a well made and correctly angled rear construction. Tailset good and carriage. 2 Paget & Carroll’s Marvale Statesman. Really liked this exhibit but just lost it with the reverberation of noise around the cattle sheds. Such a shame. Pleasing head and expression with a good almond shaped eye. Well ribbed back with strong loin. Good level topline and tail carriage. Moved well enough. Liked his overall balance. 3 Jennings’ Marvale’s Manifesto at Jenivon.

JD (3) 1 Rycroft’s Jacksondax Hornet Hurrah. In super coat and condition and well muscled. Pleasing head and expression, Good prosternum through a good return of upper arm and lay of shoulder. Slightly longer in leg than most but still balanced. Moved well with a free stride, keeping a correct topline in profile. Like a little more bone. 2 Rycroft’s Fantastic Frank at Trisensara. Made a better pair with 1 in this class. Nice size, make and shape. Plenty of substance to him, well ribbed back with a good spring. Strong topline and correct tail set. In good coat and condition. 3 Graham’s Marvale Chancellor at Ravold.

PGD (2) 1 Hinwood’s Adnerb Sheer Nanagins at Longmel. Pleasing head with a kind eye and correctly set ear. Conical shaped and well proportioned. Well constructed front assembly into a good set of ribs and strong loin. Good deep keel. Like a little more rear angulation. Good front movement and kept his topline in profile. 2 Rycroft’s Jacksondax Hornet Hurrah.

LD (3) 1 Small’s Almaznyi Laretz Ershalaim at Devondax. RCC. The most balanced of the 3 in the class with nothing overdone. Balanced head with an almond eye. Into a good strong neck, Well bodied with a good spring of rib and well ribbed back. Good prosternum with a keel. A well angulated rear. Moved off with some drive and was steady on the move keeping a level topline. 2 Rycroft’s Skywalker Blue. A different type but an honest dog with nothing exaggerated. Goof bone and feet with plenty of padding. Good depth of brisket and plenty of substance to his body. In super coat and condition. Tended to lose his topline on the move in profile. 3 Starkey’s Carpaccio Magnum Pi at Hamoura.

OD (3) 1 Cunningham’s Clentry Back to Black for Celandine. Preferred the head and expression with a kinder eye to 2. A well made dog, balanced and plenty of substance. Good bone and feet placed well under him. Clean neck and shoulder flowing into a good strong topline and a well made rear. Just like a bit more oomph on the move. 2 Hunt’s Carpaccio Suchard. Not the head and expression of 1. A well made front construction with clean neck and lay of shoulder. Good bone and feet and prosternum. Moved well enough with good front foot fall. Like a little more rear angulation. 3 Heels’ Daxanory Menacing Dennis.

MPB (3) 1 Chapman-Reith’s Hayvenhund Hissy Fit. BPB. I preferred the temperament and movement of this exhibit. Pretty head and expression. Conical shaped head, well proportioned. Good legs and feet, well ribbed back. Pulls herself into a good shape on the move, with some confidence in herself. Kept a good level topline in profile. 2 Borrelli’s Philabar Fallen Angel. Another with a correct conical head, good bite. Well made front and well ribbed back, strong loin. Felt she made a better pair with 1. 3 Wilkinson & Wakeham’s Raajput’s Canadian Winter with Wakywilks NAF

PB (2) 1 Tomlinson’s Melisdax Memories of May. Pulls into a well balanced make and shape. Good bone. Well ribbed back with a good strong loin. Going into a well made rear with some muscle. In good coat and condition. Would have liked a little more oomph on the move to have won BPB. 2 Datta’s Craimose Primrose. Moved out well in super coat and condition. A pleasing head and expression. Good feet. A good depth of chest and keel and well ribbed back. Would like more size to her.

JB (4,1) 1 Tomlinson’s Melisdax Magnolia in May. Another well made bitch with a balanced make and shape, which I preferred to 2. Plenty of substance to her, well bodied with a good frame to support her. Good rump to her. Considered her for RCC. 2 Andison & Peel’s Clentry Crunchy Carrot. Another nice feminine bitch. Good level topline. Just enough bone with good shaped feet with an arch to the toes. Well ribbed back and a good loin. Having a phantom which changed her balanced picture. 3 Datta’s Craimose Primrose.

YB (2) 1 Richardson’s Bronia Solar Corona. Good to see one driving off with some intent and power. A well made rear with a good round rump and correct tail set. And carried it well. Well ribbed back and good loin. In super coat and condition. Pleasing head and correct set ear. Handler could get more out of this bitch with some further experience and support from other exhibitors. 2 Stark’s Adnerbs Not On Your Nellie Gobannium JW. Would have liked a cleaner front construction with a little more refinement. Tended to lift her front feet on the move. Clean neck and good bone. Well ribbed back with a good depth of brisket.

PGB (1) 1 Young’s Daxiehun Dare to Dream with Craimose. Pulls inro a good well balanced shape when stood. With a well made rear construction and showed going away from you on the move. Carrying a little too much over the shoulder. Good spring of rib but a little short and longer in the loin. Nice to see a happy person on the move.

LB (6) 1 Jenning’s Clentry Sweet Melody. Lovely conical head and expression with a good eye and correct ear set. Pulls into a well made bitch with balance. Well ribbed back and strong loin. Good rear angles which was well muscled and showed with driving movement. Kept her topline level and correct tail set and carriage. 2 Small’s Ulybka Fortuny Zlatovlaska at Devondax. Little longer in loin compared to 2.Pulled into a good shape with a correct topline. Good bone and feet, but not quite the rear drive on the move. But a happy person. 3 Chapman-Reith’s Wanderhund Lets Celebrate for Hayvenhund JW

OB (4,1) 1 Roberts’ Cedavoch Blowing A Gale to Swansford. A well made bitch with a lovely feminine head and expression, balance proportion, feet well placed under her with a good prosternum and keel. Well ribbed with a strong loin with a correct topline. Moved well with some drive. 2 Tomlinson’s Bensarka Emerald Isle to Melisdax. Another nice mature bitch but not quite the head of 1. Good bone and feet, good spring of rib and well back. Strong loin and correct level topline. 3 Borrelli’s Philabar The Original
