Truly a most enjoyable assignment. Although cold it was dry which meant we were able to make the most of the large outdoor ring. I found the exhibitors to be so friendly and very sporting which was great to see. I really do think that as a whole the Wires are very good, which I am so pleased to say. Type did vary, though all on show were acceptable. Size is so good - even the few top size ones had no sign of coarseness. A few had light eyes and there were some with the odd tooth out of place - nothing to serious. Coats are so good all are a credit to you. Boy can your Wires move. I loved watching them go round the ring. Interesting that both my BCC and BP winners have American sires. The American out cross does seem to match the English wires, most interesting. The pup I found most exciting. I was so pleased with my winners and others with my BOB winner being just my cuppa tea. His long neck carriage and super body length (being in proportion) getting him the breed. You really have the Wires in good shape, at this rate the future is looking good. The best of luck with them.

PGD. (4). 1. Evans’s, Saxonbury Double Diamond. 2 years old dog. Well muscled all through, good head dark eye, good neck and carriage. Prominent forechest. Good bone and feet, firm topline. Ribs extend well back. Enough angulation behind. Tail a touch high set. Moves soundly in front with extension behind. Looking good in profile, super coat and condition. 2. Borman’s, Sonic Sir Galahad. Super coated dog. On the stack though him my winner. Super type and balance all through and good size. Built on clean lines with super hindquarters. Sound enough, but just didn’t open his gait in profile as the winner. 3. Phillip’s, Tendrow Jasper.

LD. (8). 1. Phillip’s, Wells Sea Breeze at Tendrow. Totally balanced and sound all through. Good honest Wire. Good head and eye, clean well arched neck leading into good front construction. Good forechest and width. Good bone and feet. Firm topline and good body proportions, enough angulation. Firm strong hocks, so sound coming and going. Moving out well in profile. Good coat and presentation. Should always be in the money. RCC. 2. Dible’s, Ritlo Make Mine at Liabling. Another very good dog. Super type. Loved his head and expression. Good neck leading into well placed shoulders. Excellent bone and feet. Well bodied with good spring of rib. Tail a touch high set, enough angulation. Moves well coming and going, just not as settled in topline as first. Very good coat and presentation. Close up. 3. Winchurch and Brown’s, The Late L Terony Flexible Friend.

OD. (6). 1. Moore’s, Ch/Ir Ch. Romanchi Comanche. Gave him BIS at Eastern cos as a youngster. Now at 3 years he is very much at his best. Totally bang on form on the day. His outline in profile with his super neck carraige was a joy to see. It’s all there. Totally balanced all through. Super tight Wire jacket. Best of bone and feet. Covering the big ring in style. My idea of how a top Wire should look. CC with no hesitation and BOB. 2. Paterson’s, Cishelvine Firedancer. Another top flight Wire. Top size but no sign of coarseness. Being well balanced and constructed throughout. Very good head, neck and shoulders. Grand body and firm well angulated hindquarters. Sound both ways and moves out well in profile. Tail a touch high and just coming back into coat. Should make it to the upper house. 3. William’s, Lieblings Pick ‘n’ Mix.

MPB. (4). 1. Seath’s, Mowbray American Pie at Sunsong. A star in the making. 7 months d/br baby. Totally taken with this one. She has it all for me. Still roly-poly but the promise is there. Super coat and type. Built on well balanced lines. Beautiful head, super forechest and width. Grand bone and feet. Good ribbing and short loins. Enough behind, needs to tighten as a baby should coming and going. But the profile action is there to see. BP with pleasure and down to the last three for the CC. Good luck. 2. Endersby’s, Mowbray Peggy Sue. Sister to first. Another promising baby. True to type, built on good flowing lines. Super coat and great character, as was her sister. Same remarks apply. First just taking the edge overall and tail a fraction set high. Well presented and handled. 3. McIlroy’s, Corrinmist Titania.

PB. (3). 1. Dible’s, Liebling on Golden Pond. 10 months red with super head and expression. Darkest of points and oval eyes. Good neck leading into well constructed front. Super bone and feet, well developed ribs extending well back. Well balanced quarters. Tail correctly set and carried. Sound enough coming and going. Looking good in profile. Great character. Very promising. 2. Vine’s, Liebling Sea Mist over Cashelvine. Although 10 months still a real baby. Good proportions all through, well balanced and lovely size. Well angulated fore and aft. Just needing to settle on the move. Has time on her side. 3. Hedge’s, Saxonbury Summer Storm with Silandajo.

JB. (1). 1. Derry’s, Ritterburg Lady Guinevere at Andlouis. Super bitch. Just 16 months and has it all there. So feminine, being well balanced and a beautiful size. Good clean head and expression with good furnishings. Enough neck leading into good shoulders. Firm elbows, nice tight feet. Plenty of forechest and heart room. Well sprung ribs, short loins. Super hind angulation. Strong short parallel hocks. Sound enough all round. Eager to please. Good tight coat. Just needs to mature on and project herself more. Top drawer stuff that will get there. RCC with pleasure.

PGB. (3). 1. Ryder’s, Sonic Knight Sky to Jaskar. 22 months with super Wire coat. Very good head and expression. Dark eye good neck and carriage. Firm shoulders, good bone and feet. Well bodied, firm loins leading into well muscled hindquarters. Tail well set and carried. Toes in a touch each way but opens her gait in profile. Very well presented. 2. Evans’s, Saxonbury Double Dutch. Not showing off her virtues on the day and playing the fool, wanting to be anywhere but a dog show. Pleasing type, firm topline, good ribbing, short loins, pleasing jacket.

LB. (4). 1. Ferguson’s, Allfreys Rainbow. Four very good bitches. Very feminine and well constructed throughout. So well balanced, good head. Would prefer darker eyes. Lovely long well arched neck. Firm front, good forechest. Best of legs and feet. Ample ribbing with firm topline. Hindquarters are well made and strong. Good tail set and carriage. Moving a shade close in front, sound behind. Really moves out in profile, opening her gait keeping a lovely outline. Coat in good order and well handled. 2. Pughe and Fraser’s, Bystock African Queen. Another very nice bitch, running first very close. Similar type but a fraction more of her all round. Good head. Eye shape good though would prefer them darker. Very good shoulders. Tight elbows, good body proportions, well let down hocks. Moving out well in profile, if a little close behind on the day. So well presented and handled. 3. Moore’s, Romanchi Tagish.

OB. (5). 1. Poulter’s, Ch. Lanklelly Black Bryony. Top flight bitch. Could find nothing to touch her on the day. Good head and furnishings, good neck and carriage. Sound front with super forechest. Good bone and feet, grand ribbing with short loins. Nice hammy quarters. Good tail set and carriage. Very sound moving both ways. Moving well in profile, looking better the more she went. Coat in great order. Presented so well. CC with a bit in hand. 2. Gordon’s, Silvae Gemstone at Cempsey. A really beautiful bitch. So feminine and lovely size. So well balanced all through. Very good head, enough neck, good body and condition. Enough angulation and short hocks. Looking good in profile, topline just needing to settle at times. Good harsh coat. Should make it upstairs. 3. Baxter’s, Lankelly Saffron at Kharmina.
