Sincere thanks for your entries. I enjoyed my day. Temperaments were super. Type was varied, I was very pleased with my main winners. OD, LB and OB were hotly contested. Heads were mainly acceptable - though still some round eyes, shoulder placement is still a problem, as are short upperarms. This hampers front movement, the forechest completely disappears on the move. Correct shoulders give reach of neck and a clean flow into topline. Most had bone and substance. Where are the tight feet and well arched pads? Some good puppies to come - but my middle bitch classes were disappointing. Coats were generally good - some were excellent: harsh, crisp and dense with desired undercoat. Keel depth and prominence in general were acceptable - a few were excellent, some were ‘terrier-fronted’.

SpPD (7) 1 Clifford’s Winterstorm Symphony with Ablebody. Very smart brindle in excellent coat. Sound and free moving. Head, eye, neck and shoulders good. Front well developed, hind angulation good, strong quarters. Has bone, substance and very good feet. Tailset just spoilt a nice picture. 2 Phillips’ Romanchi Chowasha. Very nice type and size, tight correct coat. Pleased in body construction. Pleased in profile, movement good both fore and aft. Not yet as mature as the winner, front still needs to develop - but with a 5 month age gap, I’m sure he will finish very well. 3 Gibson’s Allfreys Tristran. Lighter built boy, not the coat of the 2 above. Liked his head, has reach of neck, shoulders adequate. Basic construction pleased. Moved freely, front needs to develop and would like more hind angulation.

SpJD (2) 1 Patton’s Lesandic Limestone Lad. Nice sized brindle. Head appealed with dark eye and ‘saucy’ expression. Body condition in general good. Enough bone for size. Coat texture good, moved with verve.

PGD (8) 1 Abbott’s Gayteckez’s Sea Expectation. Super coated light brindle. Pleased in head shape and eye. Reachy neck, was good in front and has well sprung ribcage. Held his topline on the move. Strong quarters. He moved pout and back with precision and drive. 2 Patton’s Lesandic Limestone Lad. 3 Brown’s Merlanrose Rhapsody. Nice type dark brindle. Pleased in make and shape. Well bodied, has bone and substance. Moved well enough but needs more hind angulation and forechest.

LD (6) 1 Evans’ Saxonbury Double Diamond. Dark brindle in hard condition. Harsh jacket. Pleased in head with dark eye, has good bone, is well bodied. Shoulders, front, spring of rib, topline and underline good. Moved well in front. Good profile on the move. Wou;d like more rear extension. 2 Higgott’s Sonic Sir Galahad. Liked type and size. Super tight harsh coat (this type of coat gives such clean lines). Head well shaped, dark in eye. He is clean in neck and shoulder. Forehand good, he has depth and well sprung ribs. Topline kept on the move, strong hammy quarters. Would like a shade more length and more drive from behind. 3 Winchurch and Brown’s Terony Flexible Friend. Good headed. His neck, body, depth, top and underline presented a pleasing picture. Has bone and substance. Quarters good. Would like more front profusion and to fill the crook. Moved out well. Needs to co-operate with handler.

OD (8) 1 and CC, Phillips’ Ch Wells Sea Breeze at Tendrow. Dark brindle, excellent harsh coat. Has come together really well. He is balanced and well constructed. Everything fits without exaggeration. Head masculine but with quality eye - dark and oval. Neck flows into good shoulder layback, well ribbed with correct oval thorax, has good front and well angulated quarters. Movement good both fore and aft. 2 McCalmont’s Ch Silvae Pickwick - Res CC. All quality, correct coated light brindle. Masculine head and expression good. Reachy neck flows into well laid shoulders, low and level and keeps this profile on the move. Very good in body proportions. His movement is true and free - he extends well. 3 Harris’ Ch SA Ch Silvae Blacksmith. Very smooth looking in type. Excellent in forechest, depth and prominence. Spring of rib and body depth good. Has clean neck flowing into good shoulder layback. Good in underline and well angulated quarters. This really hard dark coated brindle has such clean lines. A strong free mover.

SpVD (1) 1 and Best Veteran Clifford’s Ch Ir Ch Ablebody Pizzkato. I had the pleasure of giving him a CC as a youngster and he is wearing well. Lovely head, body construction good throughout. Super bone and tight feet. Moved well as usual - though a little rotund.

SpPB (9) 1 Gordon’s Cempsey Coquet. Best Puppy. Good coated brindle. Has clean lines, pleased in expression and eye colour. Neck has reach and flow into the shoulders and topline. Underline, rib length, well let down quarters, short hocks and forechest all pleased me. Profile good - free mover. Should finish well. 2 Phillips’ Somthying Special. Super coated dark brindle. Very typy. Head, eye, neck, shoulders, body and quarters pleased. His body, depth and good underline. Front still to develop and not thew freedom of movement of the winner. 3 Vines’ Cishhelvine Wispa of Jazz. Brindle in good coat. Type and body construction good. Sound free mover, well proportioned except for her, which is small and no strength of muzzle.

SpJB (5) 1 Fitter’s Ritzo On the Mississippi. Red with harsh coat texture in need of a good ‘tidy up’. Liked the size. Has a very good head and oblique dark eye. Neck, shoulders and body adequate. Front needs to develop. At present rather rangy and movement needs to come together, and training be given. 2 Endersby’s Monbray Peggy Sue. Bigger brindle, looked heavy on the day which shortened outline. Coat texture good but another in need of attention. Head and eye good. Quarters strong and well let down. Topline not good, she is short in upperarm. Movement hampered by too much weight. 3 Patton’s Lesandnic Lizzy the Lizzard. Super dark hard coated brindle. Small and light all through for me. Eye dark, forequarters reasonable. Head square, loses topline on the move. Lacks hind angulation.

PGB (7) 1 Baxter’s Lasnkelly Saffron at Karmina. Dark superb coated brindle. Head , eye and earset pleased. Won this class on her very good front construction. Oval thorax and good ‘crook fill’, tight elbows. Neck and flow and shoulders, good tight feet. Rather tight over quarters. 2 Latter’s Terony Flo Jo at Speldax. Good type brindle bitch with bone and substance. Her body shape is pleasing, she has depth, ribbing and strong quarters. Tends to lose topline on the move. and seems a reluctant mover. 3 Johnson’s Sumojo Show Business. Big brindle girl in good coat. Head and eye pleased, has adequate front. Good spring and length of rib. Strong quarters. Topline rises on the move and needs more length of stride.

LB (10) 1 Seath’s Mowbray American Pie at Sunsong. Young brindle bitch with excellent tight, hard coat. Beautiful head and eye and strength of muzzle with a ‘melt your heart’ expression. Reach of neck, topline, ribbing and quarters, good turn of stifle. Strong bone, feet good. Liked body structure and clean lines. She held her outline on the move. With maturity should trouble the best. 2 Ferguson’s Allfreys Rainbow. Typy brindle, so well made and soundly constructed. Has good front, needs ribbing (both length and spring). Strong well angulated quarters. Has bone and substance. Moved out and back in good order. 3 Andrews’ Royandas Robina. Brindle girl I have judged before. A good honest bitch of good type. Well made throughout. Head, neck, body, depth, top- and underline all pleased. She has strength in quarters. Moved well with drive. Just fails in forechest and prominence.

OB (8) 1 McCalmont’s Ch Silvawe Pickwick. Bitch CC and Best of Breed. Super light brindle who fits the Standard to perfection. On entering the ring she takes the eye with her absolute freedom of movement. Her rear drive and extension arte a rare treat to behold. Really covers the ground, has good forward. To go over her is to confirm your first impression - everything fits. Conical head, lovely typical wire expression, neck, shoulders, top and underline. Good hind angulation, it’s all there. Profile good at all times. 2 Pughe and Fraser’s Ch Bystock Black Queen. Res Bitch CC. Dark brindle of excellent type, who can win well in any company. She has a short harsh coat. Have given this lovely girl a CC as a youngster and at almost 7 years full maturity suits her. Head, eye, reach of neck, good shoulders. Has keel and chest depth, well ribbed. Top and underline good. Has turn of stifle and strong quarters. In really hard condition. Another who moved with freedom, keeping ex cellent profile at all times. 3 Poulter’s Ch Lankelly Black Bryony. This nice sized bitch has a dark jacket - the texture of which is truly ‘to die for’. Her front assembly is excellent with correct layback of shoulder and upperarm length. Viewed from the front she presents a lovely oval which fills the crook. Has well boned, strong straight legs which end in super cat-like feet. - not many about! Quarters well angulated. Not the rear drive or extension of the first two.

SpVB (1) 1 Orchard’s Hanrose Minnie the Minx. I can remember this girl as a very nice bitch, with a good head, neck, body properties, who was good in profile and movement. Has lost none of her enthusiasm, especially when the ‘sausage’ came into view!
