It was an honour to be invited to judge at this prestigious show. A good entry with sadly a large number of absentees, for which we have to blame our extraordinary ration of blazing sun. Apparently we did exceed all records with the temperature on the day, and the dogs that did attend, certainly noticed but coped well.

JD. (3). 1. Burke and Manston’s, Bonavior Kellys Eye. Well made red boy with good bone throughout and mature looking for his 10 months old of age. Good masculine heads nice dark correct eye. Good reach of neck and well placed shoulders. Lovely oval front and depth of keel sweeping through to well ribbed body. Nicely rounded quarters with which he drove with purpose on the move, showing clean pads and keeping a level topline. BP and BD and BOB. I will watch his progress with interest. 2. Rollinson’s, Nosnillor Grenadie. Shares the same sire as one but not the bone and substance. A lovely pin wire jacket. Lacks maturity which will come. A good head and eye. Nice reach of neck. Not the lay of shoulder of first but nevertheless he moved quite well, but needs to muscle up. 3. Rowes’, Boloria Persus.

PGD. (2). 1. Brown’s, Merlanrose Rhapsody. A nicely proportioned pinwire brindle boy who has matured well since I judged him as a puppy. Masculine head and good expression. Excellent front and depth of keel, nice tight feet. Good reach of neck and well placed shoulders. Could prehaps do with a little more length of rib to give a better picture. Good hind angulation and moved well. 2. Rollinson’s, Nosinillor Muskateer. A nice brindle boy with good jacket but not the bone of first. Good reach of neck and looked nicely balanced in profile. Nice tight feet. Moved with a level topline but tended to move a little close behind.

LD. (4). 1. Abbott’s, Gayteckels Seaexpectation. On his won in this class. A big brindle boy with nice head and expression. Would have preferred a bit more depth of keel. A little wide in front and could have done with a bit more angulation. Hind angulation good. Moved fairly well but a little close behind.

JB. (6). 1. Salisbury’s, Brocklewood Diorella. 10 and a half months old. Pretty brindle pinwire bitch. Nice feminine head and good correct eye. A little light in bone and I would have preferred more length. Good hind angulation and moved keeping a level topline.

OB. (2). 1. Rollinson’s, Moorsedge Blackberry. A mature pinwire brindle bitch of lovely proportions and a front and feet to die for. Good reach of neck and well sprung ribbing of good length. Well angled and rounded hindquarters. BOS. Carrying a tad too much weight which had her moving a little reluctantly which cost her BOB. In all casses teeth were clean and bites correct.
