WIREHAIRED

Despite the heat none of the exhibits flagged and all appeared to enjoy the outing. They were presented in excellent bloom and muscle tone and temperaments were a delight. I was impressed by the overall quality and thought shoulder construction good although I would have preferred more prosternum development on many. The atmosphere at the ringside was, as usual at this prestige show, excellent.

PD (3). 1 Derry’s Andlouis The Tempest. Promising p with good head and eye, well placed shoulders, good ribbing carried well back, best movement in the class, pleased to award him BPIB; 2 Pinkerton’s Skye Walker At Menigma. Nice shape, both standing and moving, would prefer a touch more length, needs to tighten behind; 3 Norman and Ratcliffe’s Silvae Hotshot.

JD (5). 1 McCalmont’s Silvae Patriot. Excellent head, good shoulder placement with sufficient ribbing, correct rear angulation, rather fond of his tail at the moment, otherwise lovely movement; 2 Moore’s Romanchi Carrier. Not quite the substance of 1st. Excellent shoulders with good front movement, happier on the ground than on the table; 3 North-Row’s Barmaud Dean Martin.

SBD (2). 1 Norman and Ratcliffe’s Ermewood Buzfuz. Masculine head, good front and spring of rib, rather straight behind but moved quite well.

LD (9). 1 Dible’s Liebling Here Comes The Boss. He really was in charge today! Lovely red with excellent silhouette both standing and moving. The correct size for me, correct front and rear angulation, well-ribbed and the best mover here today, commanding ring presence to win his 3rd CC and BOB; 2Derry’s Soneve Pharaoh At Andlouis. Similar size to the first with excellent front and ribbing, not quite as true moving behind as the winner, but otherwise of similar type; 3 Moore’s Silvae Fitzbill In Romanchi.

OD (8). 1 Moore’s Ch Romanchi Beaver. Nice shape and size, good head, neck and shoulder placement, correct ribbing and good rear angulation, moved positively both fore and aft, showed well to gain the RDCC; 2 McCalmont’s Ch Silvae Pickwick. Slightly larger all through with lovely flowing movement in profile, not quite as positive coming and going; 3 Seath and Freeman’s Am Ch Stonevale Chairman Of The Board.

SVD/B (5). 1 Hitchens’ Champion Cloudside Petty Officer Of Ashihna. A favourite of mine, well made all through, masculine head and eye, correct shoulders and ribbing, excellent rear angulation, moving well both ways and enjoying himself; 2 Ree’s Champion Ermewood Jolly Roger. Pleasing head on good neck with correct front construction, rear angulation not as good as the 1st; 3 Gordon’s Champion Silvae Gemstone At Cempsey.

PB (4). 1 Lewis and Hitchen’s Ashihna Hi Jean At Trixhund. First of two similar type b’s both with lovely heads and fronts, first moving better and more mature than the 2nd; 2 Dible’s Liebling Ponder A While. Similar in all respects and better hind angulation than first; 3 Kent’s Liebling Star Attraction.

JB (7). 1 Moore’s Romanchi Chichora. Easy winner here with feminine head set on good neck with pleasing front and ribbing, correct rear angulation and moving reasonably but needs to settle behind; 2 Clifford’s Ritterburg Rose Adagio With Ablebody. Pleasing overall shape and size, and reasonable front construction, needs to mature and settle on the move; 3 Robinson’s Tagundnacht Rosy Of The River.

SBB (2). 1 Coverley’s Romanchi Tigua At Aventine. Pleasing head and neck, reasonably constructed at front. Would prefer better hind angulation, moved quite well both ways; 2 McInnes’ Cloudside Red Orchid At Morvern. Up from VHC in Junior, good shape in silhouette but not helping her handler on the move.

PGB (12). 1 Gordon’s Cempsey Florin. Heading a difficult class, well constructed front and pleasing rear end, moved with purpose and drive, could be tighter in front; 2 Phillips’ Saxonbury Playday At Tendrow. Pleasing shape overall with correctly constructed front and excellent ribbing, not quite the rear angulation of the 1st, moving well both ways; 3 Kent’s Liebling Sweet Charity.

LB(6). 1 Borman’s Sonic Sugar Babe. The best overall shape in the class could do with less weight at the front, feminine head, good spring of rib and correct rear angulation, moved v true both ways; 2 Harris and Hitchens’ Liebling Boss Anova With Ritlo. Similar type to first and same remarks apply to head and ribbing, moved well and with drive coming and going, not quite as good in silhouette as first; 3 Burke and Manston’s Bonavoir Betty Rickard.

OB (12). 1 McAlmont’s Champion Silvae Picnic. Heading a lovely class, presented in good jacket with best of heads, shoulders and fronts, lovely free mover and moving with class and drive both ways, pleased to award her the CC; 2 Poulter and McDonald’s Champion Lankelly Kelsey Rose. V feminine and slightly all over the 1st, pleasing head and front construction with good length of ribbing, moving truly but not quite as positive behind as the winner, showing well to win the RCC; 3 Patton’s Champion Lesandnic Like A Butterfly.
