WIREHAIRED
I thank the exhibitors for the excellent entry of 81 dogs.
Some classes were very good with little separating the winners. Two points which
did cause some concern were short ribbing and poor hind movement, both points
needing careful attention by the breeders. Breed type and general shape and
outline have improved considerably and it would appear that the limited use of
the American lines have benefited the breed with size uniformity, elegance and
presence. My grateful thanks to my most capable steward.
PD. (7). 1. Dibles’, Liebling Walling on Water. Very impressive puppy with
super front. Correct shoulders and ribbing. Thick tight feet. Strong hard coat.
Very masculine head and expression. Free long movement. Can steady a little in
hind movement. BPD and later BPIB. 2. North-Rows and Dibles’, Liebling Cross the
Pond to Barmaud. Excellent red dog of good presence. Lovely breed type. Very
good head and eye. Excels in quarters. Strong prominent front. Moved very
soundly. Interesting to see he is the litter brother to the winner. At present
not the maturity of his brother. Most promising puppy. 3. Pinkerton’s, Bystock
Skye Walker at Menigma.
JD. (4). 1. North-Rows’s, Barmaud Dean Martin. Brindle dog of good size.
Well placed firm shoulders. Excellent quarters giving sound free long movement
with plenty of drive. Very good coat. Pleasing head and eye. Well handled and
presented. 2. Derry’s, Andlouis the Tempest. Brindle dog of good size. Very good
head and eye. Rather low, would like a little more length of leg. Sound movement
but lacked the drive and extension of the winner. Well handled and presented.
PGD. (6). 1. Norman and Ratcliffe’s, Ermewood Buzfuz. I liked this brindle
dog very much, no exaggerations. Very good head and eye. Reachy well muscled
neck. Well laid shoulders, excels in length of ribbing. Tick tight feet. Well
angulated quarters gave excellent movement. Handled to advantage. Pleased to
award him the RCC from a very good topline of unbeaten dogs. 2. Collis’,
Caligari Poseiden. Dark brindle dog presented in good condition. Not the overall
balance of the winner. Would like more length to height. Moved soundly.
LD. (6). 1. Derry’s, Soneve Pharoah Andlouis. Brindle dog of excellent type
and size. Clean well laid shoulders, strong quarters and close harsh coat. Good
head and eye. Free movement with good extension. Well handled and presented. 2.
Davies’s, Atahira Bags the Blue. Young brindle dog with a lot to like. Good head
and eye. Super feet, long ribbing and a strong front. Big framed dog and needing
more maturity and to steady in movement. Well handled. 3. Burke, Manstons and
Williams’, Bonavoir Kellys Eye.
OD. (6). Very good class. 1. Dibles’, Ch. Liebling Here Comes the Boss.
Outstanding red dog of excellent type and size. Great ring presence and
personality. Presented in tip top condition. Very good head and eye on reachy
strong well muscled neck. Long ribbing, strong quarters. Thick bone and very
tight thick feet. Moved with great drive and extension. I was delighted to award
him the CC and later BOB over a top class bitch. 2. McCalmonts’, Ch. Silvae
Pickwick. Another super dog with a fabulous head and eye, oozes type. Very good
front and shoulders. Soundest of movement. Would have liked more body. Still a
worthy Champion. 3. Goodall’s, Gayteckles Seaexpectation at Renlott.
PB. (13). Good class some of the bitches in the class giving a lot away
to the older puppies. 1. Bormans’, Sonic Fancy Nancy. Brindle bitch loved her
type. Excellent construction. Strong front, clean shoulders. Long well ribbed up
body. Very sound movement. Hard coat which was well presented. Well handled.
BPB. Most promising. 2. Pattons’, Liebling Ponder on Me. I liked this red puppy
bitch very much. Excellent long ribbing. Very sound movement. Coat changing at
present. Not the maturity or finish of the winner at present. Should be an
exciting prospect for the future. 3. Gibson’s, Allfreys Ursula.
JB. (5). 1. Hitchens and Lewis’s, Ashina Jean at Trixhund. Brindle bitch.
Excellent bone and substance. Long ribbing, short loin. Excellent front. Very
good head and eye. Sound movement. Topline can just settle a little. Well
handled. 2. North-Rows’, Barmaud Rita Hayworth. Nice brindle bitch. Good sound
movement. Correct hard coat. Good head and expression. Not the maturity of the
winner at present. Well handled and presented.
PGB. (13). 1. Higgotts’, Soneve Phoebe of Elaton. Brindle bitch. Strong
front, firm topline. Good head on strong neck. Hard coat. Free sound movement
with good reach and drive. Well handled and presented. 2. Pattons’, Audleys
Roads to Lesandnic. Brindle bitch of similar type and size to the winner. Good
quality bitch that moves very soundly. Quite difficult to separate. Just
preferred topline of the winner on the day. 3. Gordon’s, Cempsey Florin.
LB. (12). Very strong class. 1. McCalmonts’, Silvae Pastiche. Lovely bitch
of great quality. Super head and expression, dark eyes. Strong neck. Correct
shoulders and quarters. Hard correct coat texture. Long well sprung ribs. Moved
with great drive and extension. Gave the handler a difficult time. RCC. One with
an excellent future. 2. Moores’, Cloudside Red Rose. Very elegant red bitch.
Beautiful head and eye. Strong neck running into well placed shoulders. Long
ribbing, firm topline. Again moved with great drive and extension. Just needing
a little more body maturity. More will be heard of this one. 3. Davies’s,
Cempsey Centime By Atahira.
OB. (7). Excellent class. 1. Pattons’, Ch. Lesandnic Like butterfly JW.
Beautiful bitch of excellent type and size. Very good head and eye, feminine
expression. Strong reachy neck. Close hard coat. Firm clean shoulders and good
forechest. Excellent width throughout. Excels in the move. Very pleased to award
her the CC and gave the dog a close run for BOB. 2. McCalmonts’, Ch. Silvae
Picnic. Top class bitch of excellent breed type. Superb movement. Again very
good head and eye. Strong neck and the hardest of coats. Just preferred the
tailset and quarters of the winner and the Limit winner on the day. A great
pleasure to judge this worthy Champion. 3. Gibson’s, Allfreys Genevieve JW.
