Many thanks for the lovely entry. I have to say that I was appalled by the number of exhibits with dirty teeth, & surprised by some hind action. (NB – speed does not equal drive – some exhibitors move their dogs far too quickly, where this fashion has come from I do not know, but it does not suit every d & can be quite detrimental!) What I kept seeing were dogs which had no hind extension. It was a v, v, hot day & this will have affected movement, certainly I did not ask dogs to move as much as I usually do. Exhibitors decided they wished to stay out in the sun when I offered them the choice. Temperaments & coats were good, size varied but I was able to find several really good exhibits of the correct size. I found a few level bites, fewer than normal missing pre-molars (which I don’t penalise, I just like to know!), & one kink in a tail. Many eyes were not as dark as I would have liked & some seem to be losing the typical expression. Length in some exhibits was not accompanied with adequate ribbing.

MPD (1) 1. Pinkerton’s Bystock Skye Walker at Menigma, promising p, good dk brindle coat, nice size, good front, topline running slightly up at present, not helped by tailset, good front movement, not so good behind, lovely temperament.

PD (1) 1. RCC, BP Derry’s Andlouis The Tempest, brindle, good coat, sound front, good hind angulation, better ribbing & underline, lovely head & eye, moved v soundly, queried topline in class but in challenge looked really well & I fell for his size & soundness.

JD (1) 1. Moore’s Romanchi Carrier, large brindle, coat tidy but not so harsh, slightly long coupled, gave me a headache – lovely forehand, moved really well in front with best reach of day, but today was unsound behind.

PGD (3) Difficult class as the third, a d I like, was not moving at all well behind, frustratingly I found several from this line moving the same. It could have been a reaction to the heat as I have not seen it before. 1. Gibson’s Allfreys Seabiscuit, correct sized brindle, well presented, compact d who moves so freely, maintained his front on the move, tailset tends to affect topline & even the heat today could not stop him playing the fool, typical wire. 2. Norman & Ratcliffe’s Ermewood Buzfuz, looks the part when stacked but lost his front on the move & lacked drive behind. 3. Baxter’s Lankelly Timothy Grass at Kharmina.

LD (5) Again difficult as all different types. 1. Burke, Manson & Williams’ Bonavoir Kellys Eye, large red d with good coat who could lose a few pounds, by far the best mover in class, classic outline, good front, ribbing, hind angulation, really sound & drove around the ring. 2. Higgott’s Sonic Sir Galahad, better sized brindle with good coat & lots to like, not so good in front, but again a sound free mover. 3. Davies’ Atahira Bags The Blue, darker & heavier brindle boy who looked really well standing but had no drive at all on the move today.

OD (9) v good class, the heat may have affected some placings as may coat growth, unfortunately I only had one red card, hind movement was main deciding factor further down the line. 1. & CC Rollinson’s Nosinllor Grenadier, nice sized well made brindle with excellent coat, moved soundly & freely round the ring, with good hind thrust, short coupled with good ribbing & underline, pleasing head & expression, well angulated at both ends, deserves to gain his title. 2. Dible’s Liebling Here Comes The Boss, another nice sized young d with a good red coat, lovely head & eye, moved v well behind, with good hind extension, but lacking in front for me, a bit of a character not always at one with his handler, seriously considered for RCC but looked as if he could mature further. 3. Ticehurst’s Ermewood Fizkin at Wirecrest, love this larger brindle boy for his type & quality, lovely head & expression, good ribbing, slightly longer coupled, just no drive at all today which affected his outline on the move.

MPB (1) 1. Pughe & Fraser’s Bystock Skye Lark Ascending, super coated brindle b with good front & excellent front movement, sweet head & eye, would like more ribbing, queried hind movement.

PB (1) 1. BPB, Kent’s Liebling Star Attraction, correct sized b with good red coat, lovely head, eye & expression, v sound free mover, good front, ribbing, tail carriage, best b p on hind movement & ran d p close in challenge.

JB (5) Difficult decision between first three, 1. Moore’s Romanchi Chicora, big brindle b with a beautiful front, moves really well in front, long coupled, hind end not as good as front but sounder here than 2. Mortlock’s Hertsmerry Safe Keeping, v impressed with this hard coated darker brindle who is a better size & more feminine, was excellent in profile, just needs to tighten behind, handler needs to practice stacking her as some judges may miss her otherwise. 3. Sexton & Knight’s Cloudside Rheane at Molloney, v sound free mover but not as balanced as 2 & has not got her coat.

PGB (8) 1. Kent’s Liebling Sweet Charity, correct sized brindle b with a lovely head & front, moved v freely & soundly holding her shape & was a serious contender for top honours. 2. Phillips’ Saxonbury Playday at Tendrow, brindle b with a beautiful outline, if a little low on the move, did not want to play with her handler today & not quite the coat & condition of winner. 3. Higgott’s Soneve Phoebe of Elaton, another lovely brindle of correct size with a good coat, front & ribbing, tail detracts from outline on the move but sound & free,

LB (11) This was a lovely class – I would have been happy to place any of the bitches here & could have signed a CC for any of today’s top 5. 1. CC & BoB, Borman’s Sonic Sugar Babe, feminine brindle on top form today, might be a little low to ground but everything else is so good, super for size, coat, head, eye, expression, front, ribbing, hind angulation, flowed around the ring with good reach & extension–loved her. 2. Phillips’ Saxonbury Playtime at Tendrow, nice sized, balanced, feminine brindle, super shape on the move, a little straight & not quite putting it all in behind, v well presented, 3. Davies’ Cempsey Centime by Atahira, lovely to go over, bigger darker brindle than first two, tailset detracted on the move where she lacked hind drive & freedom of movement today.

OB (9) 1. RCC, Gibson’s Allfreys Genevieve JW, brindle b in really good coat today, lovely head & expression, in the challenge appeared slightly larger than I would like her to be but just right here, so sound on the move, keeping her shape at all times, v good behind, with good top & underline & tail carriage, won the RCC in good company. 2. Seath’s Sunsong Secret Affair, similar sized much darker brindle with excellent coat, have never been impressed by her from the ringside, suspect this is because her head & expression do not appeal, but on going over her she is really well made, kept her shape on the move where she was sound & free, just slightly unsettled by different handler. 3. Ferguson’s Allfreys Rainbow at Teaselwood, lighter brindle with classic outline, v good behind, just not enjoying today’s heat.
