I thank the exhibitors for accepting me as replacement judge. We were sorry Mrs Lovick-Gibbs was unable to judge due to the ill health of her husband. We wish them both our best wishes. She had drawn a gd entry. Not having judged the breed since I did them at Crufts in 1997, the exhibits were mostly new to me. There is still a diversity of type & this showed in some of the line-ups. A number of exhibits who looked gd standing, failed in hand movement - I feel this is something that needs to be watched. As the standard says - legs & feet should move parallel to each other when viewed from front & behind. However, I was pleased with my main winners. Coats were in the main correct though some did need a bit of trimming! VD/B (6). 1 Gordon’s Ch Silvae Gemstone At Cempsey. Had recently judged her in her first Veteran outing. A well made b of the correct size. Pleasing head & expression & body lines. Moved well both ways; 2 Rees Ch Ermewood Jolly Roger. Upstanding, well made d with masculine head, gd front, body & quarters, bit erratic in head movement; 3 Baxter’s Lankelly Saffron At Kharminit. MPD (4). 1 Dible’s Liebling Walking On Water. Lovely p full of himself! Nice head & expression. Gd front, feet & neck. Well made body & angulated quarters. Stylish, sound mover, retaining topline. BDP; 2 Gibson’s Allfrey’s Balthasar. Nice p, v much a baby. Pleasing head & expression. Nice body lines & quarters. For age moved well both ways; 3 McInnes’ Morvern Augustus Snodgrass. PD (1). 1 Dible’s L W O Water. JD (4). 1 Derry’s Andlouis The Tempest. A v pleasing exhibit of a nice size. Masculine head & expression. Nice front, neck & feet. Well made body & angulated quarters. Moved soundly retaining his outline; 2 Moore’s Romanci Carrier. Another quality youngster. Pleasing head & expression. Gd front, neck & well made body & quarters. Went well round the ring; 3 Norman & Ratcliffe’s Silvae Hotshot. ND (1). 1 Robinson’s Allfreys Ship Anchor. Happy d using his tail well! Nice head & expression. Bit narrow in front, firm muscular body, movement needs to tighten up.PG (5). 1 Norman & Ratcliffe’s Ermewood Buzfuz. Not until I read the catalogue did I see that this was one of three litter mates that I placed well. V well made d of nice size & type. Pleasing head & expression, gd front, neck & body lines. Well made quarters. Moved soundly both ways; 2 Baxter’s Lankelly Timothy Grass At Kharmina. Had recently judged this d of pleasing type. Masculine head & expression. Nicely made muscular body. Moved round the ring well; 3 Evan’s Saxonbury Playmate. LD (9). 1 Ticehurst’s Ermewood Fizkin At Wirecrest. Litter mate to PG winner. V sound well made d, that the more I looked at him, the better I liked him! Nice size with masculine head & expression. Gd front feet & neck. Pleasing outline with muscular quarters. Moved soundly both ways keeping outline. RCC; 2 Burke & Manston’s Bonavoir Kelly Eye. Another one I liked - did not really help his handler too much. Pleasing head & expression. Nice front & neck, well made body & angulated quarters. Moved soundly, returning his outline; 3 Derry’s Soneve Pharoah At Andlouis. OD (6). 1 Dible’s Liebling Here Comes The Boss. My star of the day! A lovely d of the right size. Masculine head & expression, gd neck, front & feet. Well made muscular body & quarters. Free flowing movement, moving true both ways, retaining his outline. Has a lot to offer the breed & will look forward to seeing what he produces. Was delighted to award him the CC & BOB; 2 William’s Ch/Ir Ch Lieblings Pick N Mix. Larger type but nevertheless a well made d. Nice head & expression. Gd front & body lines. Muscular quarters. Moved soundly; 3 Moore’s Romanchi Beaver. MPB (6). 1 Gibson’s Allfrey’s Ursula. Liked the p, v promising. Sweet head & expression, nice front, neck & body lines. Well made quarters, moved soundly for one so young. BP; 2 Rowe’s Boloria Just A Dream. Larger type than above. Feminine head, nice front & feet. Well made body & quarters. Movement a bit difficult to access; 3 Heffernan’s Rilto Maid Merrian TAF. PB (4). 1 Kent’s Liebling Star Attraction. Pretty b of nice size & conformation. Sweet head & expression. Well made body & angulated quarters. Movement bit wide behind. JB (6). 1 Moore’s Romanchi Chicora. V pleasing b. Feminine head & expression. Gd front, feet & neck. Well made body & well muscled quarters. Moved soundly both ways; 2 Clifford’s Ritterburg Rose Adagio With Able Body. A lovely b not quite making the best of herself today - though her young handler did v well! Pretty head & expression. Gd front, feet & body lines. Well angulated quarters. Could carry a little less weight! Moved soundly; 3 Morthlock’s Hertsmerry Safe Keeping. NB (2). 1 Mortlock’s Hertsmerry Stealing Heaven. Larger type of b with nice head & expression. Firm body & quarters. Moved with style round the ring. PGB (12). 1 Gordon’s Cempsey Florin. Pleasing b of nice type & size. Feminine head & expression. Gd front & well made muscular body & quarters. Moved soundly retaining her topline; 3 Rollinson’s Spitchwick By The Moor At Nosinllor. LB (8). 1 Seath’s Sunsong Secret Affair. I surprised myself & I thank the owners in this class! A lovely dark brindle with excellent coat & outline. Feminine head & expression. Gd front, feet & well arched neck. Well made body & muscled quarters. Perhaps a bit on the leg but so well made all through. Moved soundly both ways. Was delighted to award her the CC: 2 Rees Ermewood Arabella. A close decision between these two. Litter sister to the RDCC winner & PGD winner. A lovely well made lady with pleasing outline. Pretty head & feminine expression. Gd front, feet & neck. Nice body lines & quarters. Moved soundly retaining her outline. RCC; 3 Munro’s Lankelly Just Tasmine For Stornum. OB (8). 1 Gordon’s Cempsey Coquet JW. Smaller type of b. Full of quality. Lovely outline with gd front, body & angulated quarters. Moved soundly both ways; 2 Davies Cempsey Centime By Atahira. Another nice b of pleasing lines. Feminine head & expression. Nice front & well made body. Moved soundly; 3 Ryder’s Ch Sonic Knight Sky To Jaskar. BRACE (4). 1 Cliffords. Well matched pair. BBIS; 2 Davies.
