Northern Eastern Dachshund Club 2007

 WIRE HAIRED

This was one of the most expensive appointments I have been on, mainly as my back was bad we decided to come by train. The journey was pleasant but the hotel miles from the leisure centre which was the usual soulless place with unflattering lighting. I would like to thank my efficient ring steward who also got us back to civilisation! The entry was poor & this made it more difficult for me as those I did have were split into two types. Those larger that had all the right attributes & those taller, shorter & frankly more terrier-like. I had to choose which in a larger entry would not have been a problem. As someone said to me "they won't enter under you as they don't know what you'll do." Praise indeed though it was not meant as such, but is something I have relied on all my showing life. The main problem for me was feet, being small & splayed & with long nails. Breeders should also watch as some keels were rather short & therefore you don't get the sweep into the ribs to hold that long body stable. Shoulders were so improved, breeders have done an excellent job with imports & selective breeding. STANDARD WIRE: P (2). 1 Moore's Aventine Rainman. What a joy he is, if rather large. Super head with the correct strong jaw. Long neck flowing into gd shoulders & ribs. His feet are big & tight & nails short & he moves so effortlessly. I was bowled over by him. DCC & BOB & RBPIS; 2 Phillips's Tendrow Special Format. This was a smaller v gd youngster but as yet does not have the maturity which eventually may not be to his disadvantage. PG (1). 1 Hodgson's Kenmillix Columbus. Nice long d with a gd head. His keel is rather short & his movement a bit stilted. L (1). 1 Coverley's Romanchi Choctaw. A gd Dark Brindle d with an excellent sweep of keel & long ribbing. The front movement was a bit uncertain & I felt this gd d would be better on grass. O (5). 1 Borman's Ch Sonic Pickpocket. What an excellent d in lovely condition. Gd tight feet, gd shoulders & ribbing. He moved really well, just not the fluidity of the CC winner. Thank you for bringing him. RCC; 2 Moore's Ch Ir Ch Am Ch Raydachs Tom Cruisen On. What a mover & he passes it on. Gd long head, lovely shoulders & ribbing, he really is so gd but just that tad more length needed for me. All his offspring have this plus his many virtues. What a force as a stud d; 3 Ch Andlouis The Tempest. PB (6). 1 Moore's Aventine Minority Report. This girl had a lovely head with a strong jaw. Long neck sweeping into gd shoulders. A really excellent sweep of keel, nice tight feet & a gd bend of stifle. Her movement was easy & true. Here we had this beauty & breed type in a larger package than I would like but she never put a foot wrong & was all Dachshund. BCC; 2 Coverley's Aventine Vanilla Sky. A lovely b with gd shoulders & a lovely sweep of keel & gd ribbing. V promising. How proud you must be of these lovely youngsters & how gd the future looks with broods such as these; 3 Borman's Sonic Water Lily. J (6). 1 Skinner's Ritterbur Walkure. She is really well made with excellent shoulders, gd sweep of keel & long ribbing. Her bone is lighter & feet smaller. Her foreface is rather short giving an untypical expression. Her pin wire coat & colour is v attractive; 2 Gibson's Alfreys Jennifer Eccles. A lovely b, long & elegant with a beautiful head. She was rather shy so didn't make the best of herself but if she gets to like showing could do really well; 3 Derry's Shutzenwald Penny Lane At Andlouis. PG (2). 1 Ritterburg Walkure; 2 Heffernan's Ritlo Maid Merrianne At Mamutik. This b was gd type but not the front or shoulders of 1. L (3). 1 Gibson's Allfreys Ursula. This is a really lovely b who has a beautiful elegant head, gd front & ribbing. Excellent tight feet & moves well. She has the body length so there is no need to overstretch her as she is not comfortable & it makes her drop her topline. RCC; 2 Borman's Sonic Fancy Nancy. A gd b with a huge front but rather short keel & her movement was rather restricted; 3 Wright's Sonic Sugar Candy. O (3). 1 Davies's Cempsey Centime By Atahira. This b had a gd front but the angles of her shoulders were a little straight & keel rather short. She had gd tight feet & moved well; 2 Patton's Ch Ir Ch Lesandic Like A Butterfly. Finer & of superb quality & a favourite of mine but I felt she needed more body & although her movement was true it lacked any sparkle today. Like me a bit too far from home & feeling the journey. Thank you for bringing her.
