WIRE HAIRED
I found it very interesting to judge Wires on the
day having not judged them for some time. I was quite disappointed to find that,
in my opinion, the variety has not improved in fact some things seem to have
deteriorated. Trying to judge to type is virtually impossible as they are so
divergent. I found very short ribcages were the norm rather then the exception
and pro sternum seem to have vanished in a lot of cases. Many dogs that look
good standing lost outline on the move and showed little hind drive. Also many
bites were very tight bordering on level. On the plus side I saw many better
coats and presentation in general was excellent. I’m sure the heat affected some
dogs more that other which showed on the move.
PD. (3). 1. Moore’s, Aventine Rainman. Well presented brindle dog. Excellent
head and neck into good shoulders. Tight elbows nicely developing pro sternum.
Good hind angulation with positive hind drive which gave good extension when
viewed from behind. Kept outline on the move. To be critical would prefer lower
tailset. Real showman who really pulled out the stops in the challenge. Felt he
was beginning to flag in the heat for BOB. Awarded CC and BP. 2. Phillips’,
Special Format. Another nice puppy. Excellent coat. Lovely head and expression.
Nice type. Not the movement of winner. 3. Levers’, Reveldown Glenmorangie.
JD. (5). 1. Vines’s, Cishelvine Sea Swell. Nicely balanced dog with
typical head and expression. Good shoulder placement with tight elbows. Held
shape on the move. Good hind angulation which allowed him to move with drive. 2.
Clares’, Cempsey Sunlight at Mabeline. Larger red dog. Reasonable front assembly
but not the quarters of winner. 3. Harmer’s, Ballanroo All Fired Up.
PGD. (6). 1. Williams’, Swancombe Shropshire Lad. Won this class on
movement. Correct size and balance. Outline held on the move. 2. Barrett’s,
Abbeydac Sorral at Lowjinks. This dog was not putting all in on the move on the
day which affected my decision. Nice overall picture with good coat and type. 3.
Clares’, Tendrow Willy Willys at Mabeline.
LD. (6). Very difficult class with different types made for close decisions
for first three places. 1. Bormans’, Sonic Pickpocket. Good ribbing which
supported strong topline. Excellent head and neck with good keel. Moved out
well. Good depth of body. 2. Norman and Ratcliffes’, Ermewood Buzz Fuzz. Again
dog with ribbing. Super head flowing into elegant neck and reasonable shoulder
and upper arm. Moved well holding outline. Good coat, well presented dog. 3.
Seaths’, Sunsong Totally Frank.
OF. (4). 1. Rollinson’s, Nosinillow Genadier. This dog looked on form on the
day. Has slot weight to his advantage. Better ribbing than most, tight elbows
and good keel. Superb coat. Good head proportions flowing into correct neck and
shoulders with tight elbows. Kept outline at all times. RCC. 2. Moores’, Ch/Ir
Ch/Am Ch. Raydachs Tom Cruisen On. Completely different type to winner. Lovely
head and neck. Moved out well. Just preferred height to length ratio on winner.
3. Williams-Burke and Manston’s, Bonavior Kellys Eye.
V. (3). 1. Harris’s, Ch/Sa Ch. Silva Blacksmith at Rinlto. Good condition
for age. Still retains excellent coat. Super head and front assembly. 2.
Ferguson’s, Allrefreys Rainbow at Teaselwood. Very nice bitch. Lovely type and
still retaining topline on the move. 3. Grays’, Teckelgarth Andromeda.
PB. (13). 1. Gibson’s, Allfreys Jennifer Eccles. Bridnle puppy of lovely
type. Nicely proportioned head flowing into good shoulders and tight elbows. One
of the few in this class that held outline both standing and on the move.
Promising. Coat could be improved. 2. Moores’, Aventine Minority Report. Litter
sister to Dog puppy winner so liked her type. Like many in this class needs to
settle on the move. 3. Derry’s, Schutzenwald Penny Lane at Andlouis.
JB. (1). 1. Skinner’s, Ritterbug Walkure. Fabulous coat on this bitch.
Feminine head and good reach of neck. Good tight feet which many lacked. Felt
she carried weight over the shoulder on the day which affected her topline and
movement.
PGB. (5). 1. Rowes’, Boloria Anastasia. Real rarity a chocolate bitch. Liked
this bitch a lot. Good size with lovely breed type. Really came into her own on
the move. Powered round the ring holding her outline at all times. 2. Skinner’s,
Roterbug Walkure.
LB. (7). 1. Harris’s, Rilto Be Dazzler. Red bitch with excellent coat. Loved
her overall type and quality. Head and neck flow into good shoulders. Ribbed
well back, short lion and hammy quarters. Nothing exaggerated but very sound. CC
and BOB. 2. Pughe and Fraser’s, Bystock Pumpkin Pie. Different type but again
lots to like. Shown and handled to perfection. Good head and neck. Excellent
shoulders and good tight elbows. Kept her outline both standing and on the move.
Moved with purpose, hard and fit which showed, especially in the heat. RCC. 3.
Hitchen and Lewis’s, Ashina Hi Jean at Trixihund.
