WIRE HAIRED
What a charming breed, all with fantastic
friendly temperaments with “glad to see you” tails and such knowing expressions.
One of my stewards, Mrs. Alexander of Dalmatian fame, was quite enchanted by the
breed and she said how much she had enjoyed watching them being judged.
PD (6/2) 1 Williams’s Swincombes Noss Mayo, and 2 Derry’s
Abbydac Parsley with Andlouis two extremely happy youngsters and at first glance
they could be litter mates. So similar in make and shape with well weighted
bone, excellent feet and when stacked they have such good necks and firm, level
backlines. I know the second was in fuller jacket which was to his benefit, But
I felt that Mayo had that shade more upper arm length and as they circled the
ring it just gave him the edge in forward reach and to keep his backline firmer.
Two promising puppies. 3 Edward’s & Lavin’s Swincombes Darite
JD (3) 1 Skinner’s Ritterburg the Magician I liked his head
balance, beautiful eyes, ears and expression, strong foreface and so well
furnished. He handles well on the table once his luggage has been checked, is
blessed with a good neck, excellent ribbing and not overdone in length of loin.
Perhaps his angles could be a bit more pronounced as although sound both ways,
he does not really cover too much ground in profile. 2 Patton’s Lesandnic
Larsson appeared as naked as a jaybird when standing next to the winner as at
present he is almost bereft of much furnishing. His head is well balanced,
stunning eyes & expression,, has a decent length of neck and a good sternum.
Ribs have depth but both standing and moving he lets his topline rise which
detracted from his appeal. Front and rear actions are true as can be and what
little jacket he had was truly harsh to the touch. 3 Lapworth’s Tendrow Jury’s
Out
PGD (5/1) 1 R. the Magician 2 T. Jury’s Out quite a problem lad as he
was satisfactory to handle on the table, is a good size, plenty of substance for
a male and his head is a decent length, little stop and a powerful muzzle. He
was so well presented in body and coat but when asked to strut his stuff on the
move he was simply lethargic, sound enough but somewhat short striding, almost
as though he was bored! 3 Davis’ Knotts Greene King
LD (7/3) 1 Davis’ Tecklegarth Tom Thumb I liked his head pattern,
decent length, all male in outlook, beautiful mouth, shade short in neck for me
but he does have a good layback in shoulder with a strong breast bone and well
boned legs. His backline is level, the rump denoting power and he made the most
of his action when circling the ring. Shown in excellent jacket. 2 Coverley’s
Romanchi Choctaw 6 years old and lots to like about him. He has a pleasing head,
eyes not quite so tight as the winners, but his expression is confident and
kind. He was in excellent body condition, his coat beautifully presented and he
has a lovely length of ribcage to fairly compact loin. His side action shows
balanced but I felt he was not quite so true in front as Tom. 3 Edwards &
Lavin’s Nosinllor Fusilier
OD (6/2) The best class of the day and close decisions. Headed by 3
very good Champions. 1 CC & BOB Borman’s Ch. Sonic Pickpocket this ultra sound
moving fellow is so handsome in headpiece, totally alive in expression and just
oozes quality. He is beautifully put together in construction, has a more than
useful neck, lovely sternum, ribs carry well back to a shortish loin so he has
that compactness there with his length coming from good angles fore and aft.
Back firm as a rock, in superb condition both in muscle tone and coat Add that
he is ultra sound showing real reach and drive in profile and you have a winner.
Delighted to learn he was short listed in the Group. 2 & Res. CC Moore’s Ch.
Aventine Raiman at Romanchi JW interesting to see he is by Ch. Tom Cruisen On,
who also sired the res CC wining bitch as well as the BPIB. Another presented in
spanking body and coat condition and looks every inch a deserved titleholder.
Lovely head, very good eyes for size, shape, colour and expression. Good length
of neck and very well ribbed. When standing his backline was less firm than the
winner, yet once he was moving it tightened up and he kept his shape. 3 Derry’s
Ch. Andlouis the Tempest.
PB (10/2) 1 & BP Moore’s Molloney Ann Other at Romanchi an ultra sound
moving little bitch of excellent size and substance. Her head is a long, clean
wedge, well defined ridges, good dark eyes and well carried ears. Owns a more
than useful neck, is well ribbed and has such a good bend of stifle. So sound on
the move and presented in good coat. Shows much promise. 2 Edwards’ Lovehayne
Black Opal another delightful baby which is not nearly so forward in coat and
furnishings as Ann, but she does have appeal. She is shapely, pretty head and
expression, well laid shoulders with really good fore action when viewed coming
towards you. Side on she holds herself well, excellent carriage and am sure will
do well. 3 Mease’s Weaverwire Florin
JB (5/2) 1 & CC Gibson’s Allfreys Grace Kelly. This was love at first
sight on my part. She just looks like a teenage star, bags of style, oozes charm
and is utterly feminine in every respect. Beautifully constructed, lovely
angulation both ends, a decent rump and her side action just knocked everything
else into a cocked hat. Her head is a lovely shape, enough length, good ridge
definition and the most beautiful eyes and expression. OK she is short of
furnishings at present but this is temporary. I’m sure has a bright future. 2
Patton’s Lesandnic Lily Agnes another quality youngster, more forward in
furnishings than the winner, super headpiece, the darkest of eyes and a
temperament which will win many admirers. Her ribs carry well back, the loin is
fairly short and her hindquarters are well muscled. Just failed to live up to
her construction in profile action where I felt she could have shown more oomph
or drive. 3 Edwards’ Lovehayne Black Eyed Susie
PGB (3/2) 1 & Res CC Paterson’s Cloudisde Isodora at Ambiesque, I don’t
think there was a better presented exhibit on show. Totally immaculate, every
hair in place and looking the part when stacked. On the table she proved to have
a really good head, the skull has strength, little stop, the most lovely eyes
for shape, colour and expression and her ears were ever on the alert to enhance
her expression. Her ribs are well sprung, she has balanced angulations so her
side action is smooth and even stepping. Will surely be a contender for her
title next year.
LB (6/3) 1 Seath’s Sunsong Gypsy Rose not the biggest girl in the world
but lots of shape and style. Everything fitted so well, she has a really good
neck, adequate ribbing and firm in backline. She is well off for substance, is
strong in hindquarters and she really used her hocks well in profile. Pleasing
head, dark eyes and good ears. 2 Coverley’s Aventine Vanilla Sky. I thought had
the best balanced head, beautiful eyes and expression. Whilst she has a good
spring of rib, I feel they could carry back farther and she is a shade overdone
in length of loin for me. In good coat, she was moving a little close behind. 3
Rollinson’s Nosinllor Joan of Arc
OB (6/4) 1 Gibson’s Allfrey Ursula has appeal when stacked, her well
arched neck and level back adding to her charm. She has a good spring of rib,
the elbows are fairly tight and she is well boned. Her rump is well rounded and
she is well let down aft and stands on firm hocks. Pleasing head, good mouth and
neat ears. 2 Patton’s Lesandnic Solerina I liked her head properties, excellent
skull/foreface balance, really good eyes and expression, ample length in neck,
topline dips behind the withers which lessens her appeal, but she is well boned,
has a good sternum and is sound moving both ways. Not quite the fullness in coat
of the winner.
