Wire-Haired: No CCs on offer for this variety. Quite a respectable entry on paper but the absentee rate was high, a regrettable feature of modern shows. PD (2,1) 1 RBD & BP, Hodgson's Lieblings Matinee Idol, 9 months dog, long head, strong jaw, good bone, very good forehand & width through front, good turn of stifle. Stood a shade high in rear at times. Moved with drive, lovely outgoing temperament. JD (1) 1 repeat. PGD (2,1) 1 Hodgson's Kenmillix Columbus, masculine dog, good bone, houndy outlook, a shade broad in skull, very good harsh coat. A bit narrow through the front. Stepped out OK, in lovely hard muscle. LD (1) repeat. OD (2,1) 1 BD & RBOB, Derry's Ch Andlouis The Tempest, very houndy dog, quite low to ground, masculine expression, strong jaw, good angulation. Could be a shade smoother over the shoulder. Lovely harsh jacket, outgoing temperament, positive mover. PB (3,2) 1 Butler-Hughes' Alpha The First, 9 months bitch, quite feminine but carrying too much weight. Attractive head of good length, good bone. Upper arm a shade too short. Good temperament, just needs time. JB (1) 1 BB & BOB, Heffernan's Ritterburg La Traviata at Mamutik, 15 months houndy bitch of lovely type & balance, beautiful head & expression, long neck, harsh jacket, lovely long stride. Still has a bit of maturing to do but won the day with her striking outline & overall look of quality. PGB (2,1) 1 Derry's Schutzenwald Penny Lane at Andlouis, feminine bitch of good size, quite neat, houndy outlook, good bone. Front movement a tad choppy. Shoulders OK, good harsh jacket, moved well behind. RBB in Wires was the winner of PGB.
