 It is some years since I judged this variety of Dachshund. Temperaments were, as usual, excellent and my winners pleased me: on the minus side some feet were very splayed and I was concerned about the length of ribbing in quite a few exhibits, I also found some undesirable hind movement.

MPD. (3). 1. Williams’s, Swincombes Moss Mayo. Well up to size. Good in head. Fair front. Went well. 2. Edwards and Lavin’s, Swincombes Darite.

PD. (3). 1. Dibles’, Lieblings Stormin Norman. Took my eye straight away. Dark eye, correct head. Good angulation kept his topline at all times. Surely one for top honours. RCC and BP. 2. Swincombes Darite.

JD. (5). 1. Lever’s, Reveldown Glenmorangie. Head slightly lacking furnishings. Good reach of neck and well filled front. Level topline. 2. Rowes’, Boloria Calico Jack. Dark brindle lacking a little in front. Good jacket. 3. Williams’s, Swincombes Shropshire Lad.

LD. (5). 1. Baxter’s, Lankelly Timothy Grass at Kharmina. Good all round type. Crisp coat. Good topline and a steady mover. 2. Clifford’s, Ablebody Rock n Roll. Lacking the angulation of winner with a softer coat. 3. Barrett’s, Abbeydac Sorrel at Lojinks.

OD. (6). 1. Moore’s, Ch. Aventine Rainman at Romanchi JW. Classic head plenty of forechest. Good length of ribbing and kept his topline at all times. Moving true. CC. 2. Doble and Moon’s, Eng Ch/Ir Ch. Liebling Cross the Pond to Barmaud. Red of ample proportions. Coat a little soft. Correct head. 3. Rollinson’s, Ch/Ir Ch. Nosinllor Grenadier.

MPB. (2). 1. Scott’s, Ablebody Tantino. Crisp coat. Nice length. Shoulder well angulated. 2. Locksmith’s, Abbeydac Coriander. Just 6 months old. Very much a baby.

PB. (3). 1. Gibson’s, Allfreys Grace Kelly. Promising puppy. Very mature for her age and a nice size. Well put together. Liked her head and she had a good reach of neck. True mover. BPB. 2. Clifford’s, Ablebody La Traviata. Longer type. Steady, well handled. 3. Locksmith’s, Abbeydac Rosemary. JB. (4). 1. Didle’s, Lieblings Drama Queen. Red of good coat texture. Firm topline, well balanced type. 2. Gibson’s, Allfreys Carolina. One of good size. Well put together in good coat. Not as settled as her kennelmate. 3. Clifford’s, Albebody la Traviata.

PGB. (3). 1. Kent’s, Monisi Calamity Jane. Brindle with good body and coat. Fair front. Moved steadily.

LB. (5). 1. Rollinson’s, Nosinllor Joan of Arc. Lovely head and good eye. Well angulated. Kept her topline at all times. All topped off with a super harsh coat. True mover. RCC. 2. Gibson’s, Allfreys Ursula. Another good one from this kennel. Just preferred the head of the winner. Has a good body. Sound mover. 3. Rowe’s, Boloria Anastasia.

OB. (6). 1. Moore’s, Aventine Minority Report at Romanchi. She caught my eye as soon as she entered the ring. Excellent body. Lovely head and neck flowing into well placed shoulders. The best of ribbing and a very sound moving bitch. CC and BOB.
