WIRE HAIRED

PD (3,1a) 1 Skinner’s Ritterburg The Magician, interesting pair, quite the opposite in type, look forward to watching their progress, 1 scores in head, neck, bone & masculinity, very stylish, super expression, excellent feet. Understandably raw & needs to come together going round; 2 Dible’s Lieblings Stormin Norman, neat & well put together red, excels in outline, correct topline standing & moving, more collected going round. Not quite forechest of 1. JD (4) 1 Rowe’s Boloria Calico Jack, caught my eye, long & low, houndy head, excels in neck & shoulder, super length of ribbing, plenty of forechest, real athletic type, wonderful reach in front. At this stage slightly more rise over loin than ideal but with maturity could have an exciting future. Close up to RCC; 2 R The Magician; 3 Moore’s Cloudside Harvey. PGD (6,3) 1 Clare’s Cempsey Sun-Light at Mabellene, neat red, OK head type, good basic shape, well laid shoulders. Could be a touch stronger in hindquarters. Looked the best going round retaining his topline; 2 Davis’ Knotts Greene King, attractive body & balance, masculine head, coat coming through, OK topline. Insisted on pacing but eventually settled. Preferred forehand of 1; 3 Lever’s Reveldown Glenmorangie. LD (5) 1 Norman & Ratcliffe’s Silvae Hotshot, real hound, excels in head & neck, plenty of style, super topline, used himself on the move. Could just have a little more front angulation; 2 Clifford’s Ablebody Rock N Roll, more compact, smaller red. Not quite so masculine in head or in such good coat. Well bodied. Preferred slope of 1 but this one really made the most of himself on the move; 3 Barrett’s Abbeydac Sorrel at Lowjinks. OD (7,1) Various types each with their individual virtues. 1 Phillips’ Tendrow Special Edition, not the most ‘extreme’ but scored on his honest, sensible type all through, sound coming & going, very collected side gait, good head carriage, correct bone & substance for his size, well ribbed. CC; 2 Rollinson’s Ch/Ir Ch Nosinllor Grenadier, handsome houndy boy, long & low, classy head type, lengthy ribcage, strode out well if not quite the carriage of 1. RCC; 3 McCalmont’s Ch Silvae Pioneer. V (2) 1 Harris’ Ch/SA Ch Silvae Blacksmith at Ritlo, great to see this handsome, hard-bitten happiest of dogs in such good form at 11 years. Harshest of coats, still means business on the move, well muscled; 2 Ferguson’s Allfreys Rainbow at Teaselwood, pretty typy bitch, very feminine, well bodied, plenty of length. Not angles or topline of 1.

PB (8,1) 1 Gibson’s Allfreys Grace Kelly, baby with astonishing presence, carriage, gorgeous quality & personality, excellent topline, strong powerful hindquarters which she used to the full, real beauty. BP; 2 Dible’s Lieblings Drama Queen, very good type, attractive head type, well balanced, long & low. Not yet so true front & rear as 1 but looked lovely going around; 3 Phillips’ Tendrow Poetic Justice. JB (5) 1 Gowlett’s Tendrow Mirror Image at Minalsa & 2 Phillips’ Tendrow Special Legacy, two lovely sisters by DCC winner, similar in type though 1 looked heavier as she was in fuller coat. Feminine heads, good eye shape, sufficient neck, compact bodies, both looked the part going round. 1 had marginally stronger hindquarters; 3 Gibson’s Allfreys Carolina. PGB (7,1) 1 Poulter & Macdonald’s Lankelly Eloquent Rose, scored on overall balance & kept her shape best going round, very feminine, low to ground without exaggeration, good top & underlines. A touch close going away; 2 Coverley’s Aventine Vanilla Sky, bigger bitch of very houndy type, scored on head & neck, good bone & front, substantial underline. Cut up a little, not quite bend of stifle of 1; 3 Rollinson’s Nosinllor Joan of Arc. LB (4,1) Three nice ones. 1 Rowe’s Boloria Anastasia, really lovely chocolate, close up to the RCC & should make up. Sensible size & not too heavy, very good side gait when she settles, ideal topline, full of quality, true behind. Slightly narrow in front movement but a real Dachshund; 2 Gibson’s Allfreys Ursula, super head & neck, well bodied, ideal bone for size. Not quite angulation of 1 but perhaps surprisingly in spite of that was the best mover of the day with astonishing reach & drive; 3 Phillips’ Tendrow Special Formula. OB (7) Super class. 1 Pughe & Fraser’s Ch Bystock Pumpkin Pie, beautiful bitch of tremendous scope & substance, gorgeous head, neck, shoulders, bone & front, super ribbing, in good coat, well presented. Moved extensively but she never flagged. CC & BOB; 2 McCalmont’s Silvae Mystic, has all the quality of her lovely dam Picnic, super presentation, can match 1 for her immaculate forehand, super topline & ribbing, scored on hindquarters. Not the animation or bold defiant head carriage of 1. Perked up in the challenge for RCC – typical!; 3 Davies’ Ch Cempsey Centime by Atahira.
