WIRE HAIRED
I very much enjoyed judging this variety where quite clearly great strides have been made by breeders co improve the breed. Fronts, shoulder placements and mouths particularly have improved significantly. Most exhibits were presented in clean, hard condition and I found very few poor coats. I was especially pleased to find some promising youngsters in puppy and junior which bodes well for the future. The ringside attitude was an example some other varieties could emulate, with every class applauded. I thank the exhibitors for a quality entry and for the sporting way in which they accepted my decisions making it a thoroughly pleasant day for me. PD (2) 1 Skinner's Ritterburg Storm Trooper. Dark brindle boy of lovely type, super head, decent reach of neck with well placed shoulders and correct ribbing. Maturing very nicely. Moved soundly keeping a firm topline, just needing to settle in the rear, when he does will trouble the best. 2 Dible's Barmaud Rafael. Very raw brindle baby of just six months so giving a lot away in development. Very happy and full of wiggle and wag so hard to assess on the move! Well constructed all through and absolutely correct both ends. Just needs time. When mature will be one to watch like his sire who was my B.O.B. JD 1 Phillips' Cishelvine Swellegant Guy At Tendrow. Brindle of lovely type, not a big one but well off for bone. Decent head, neat front with good layback of shoulder, correct ribbing and strong loin, super rear which he uses to advantage of the move. Well presented and handled. 2 Skinner's Ritterburg Storm Trooper. 3 Maxwell's Tannahill Ash At Bardrestan. PG (8,1) 1 Smith's Salixian Eclat. Compact brindle dog, shown in good order. Very neat and tidy all through with nothing overdone in any way. Really busy mover who showed good drive and extension and kept a really good topline at all times. 2 Paskins' Sonic Footloose At Kindeace. Brindle dog, bigger and longer cast than 1, but does not have as much angulation. Really sound, honest, type. 3 Rees' Ermewood Joint Effort. LD (8,2) 1 McCalmont's Silvae Paridigm. Elegant brindle dog in super hard, condition. Correct head proportions, tidy front, good reach of neck with well laid shoulders. Decent length and spring of rib, strong, well angulated rear. Moved with drive maintaining a good topline. Well handled and presented. 2 Moore's Romanchi Mohican. Workmanlike dark brindle of lovely make and shape. Excels in ribbing and can really move. Another one who was correctly made both ends. 3 Coverley's Aventine Tropic Thunder. OD (6,2) 1 Dible's Ch'liebling Stormin Norman. Have never had my hands on this red dog before but having done so can appreciate why he has had such a successful show career. Absolutely sound all through, with no exaggeration anywhere. Wherever you put your hands on him it all fits perfectly. Excels on the move, just flowing with no apparent effort on his behalf. Looks like he could go all day which I am sure he can. Put down to the minute in super coat and condition and handled to get the best from him. Delighted to award him the C.C. and later B.O.B over his daughter. 2 Moore & Coverley's Ch/Ex Dentia I'm Bond James Bond. Brindle boy of super type and size. Another high profile dog with nothing to hide. Really gives his handler a hard time and definitely doesn't do “statue”! That said he is so well made all through and really comes into his own on the move. Just inclined to throw himself onto the forehand which can unbalance him slightly. Super dog Res CC. PB (4,1) 1 Seath's Boloria Kaleena At Sunsong. Super sound brindle bitch with everything going for her. Super head and expression, correct front with good shoulders, well ribbed and sternum well back. Tidy rear which comes together better when she moves which she does with drive and extention. Well presented in super condition B.P. and pleased to see her later go B.P.I.S. 2 Phillips' Tendrow Replayed In Red. Lovely Red bitch in smaller moulD with a super coat for a red especially such a young one. So neat and tidy to go over and moves really well. Just dropping off over the croup a bit here. Really well presented with a super temperment. 3 Vine's Cishelvine Ice Folly. JB (4,2) 1 Mccalmont's Silvae Zeal. Absolutely stunning brindle bitch of super type, beautiful head and expression, terrific reach of neck with super shoulders. Absolutely correct in front and hind assembly, strongly ribbed up with sternum well back. Strong loin and firm topline maintained at all times. Really comes into her own on the move, a little unsettled here but this did not spoil her for me, Such a pity she did not make the challenge, would have been a strong contender. 2 Vine's Cishelvine Dream Of Sea. Typy dark brindle bitch of lovely make and shape, my notes say ‘very naughty!' which she was but this did not detract from her many virtues. Lower to gound than 1 and of different type. Moved with drive and considerable enthusiasm! PGB (7,1) 1 Smith's Salixian Elise. Little sister to Post Grad Dog winner and very much of the same mould so similar comments apply. Moves in the same busy, active, way as her brother. Very nice bitch. 2 Gibson's Allfreys Starduster. Neat red bitch in her underwear! Well constructed all through and moved with drive. Just falling away over the croup a bit. 3 Paskins' Kindeace See Emily Play. LB (6,1) 1 Davies' Atahira Centissima. Super dark brindle bitch I have always admired. Glorious head and dark almond eye, super reach of neck, correct shoulders, fab ribbing with strong loin of correct length, super quarters and a firm topline. Moves with terrific drive showing a clean pair of heels. A real handful, she gives her handler a hard time, but is so happy and full of wire character. Daughter of the Dog CC winner so clearly showing is not his only forte! Pleased to award her the CC, her 2nd. Hope she soon gets her crown. 2 Seath's Sunsong Gypsy Music. Very sound and typey brindle bitch, super head proportions with good reach of neck. Shoulders spot on, neat front and well angulated rear. Just did not want to co-operate on the move here refusing to open her gait which was a pity as she is a very nice bitch. 3 Paskins' Sonic Fancy Free At Kindeace. OB (5,2) 1 Mccalmont's Silvae Mystic. Elegant brindle bitch, super head proportions, correct front with good pro sternum, good reach of neck and well placed shoulders. Well ribbed and well angulated rear. Sound mover with plenty of drive, keeps a correct topline at all times. Lovely bitch. Res CC 2 Seath's Sunsong Gypsy Rose. Chocolate bitch of really good stamp, litter sister to 2nd in limit. Very similar but maybe a bit more scopey, really well made all through and put down in super nick in good coat, moved soundly, driving well, keeping a firm topline. 3 Moore's Molloney Ann Other At Romanchi.
