WIRE HAIRED

I thoroughly enjoyed my first time of awarding CCs to Standard Wires and I thank the exhibitors for the quality entry and very few absentees. There was a large variation in type and size amongst the exhibits present and trying to combine correct construction, movement and the type I prefer sometimes wasn’t possible. Some of the males in particular were far too big and coarse for my liking. However, there were plenty that I liked immensely and I was delighted with my principle winners and could have handed out many more CCs comfortably.

PD (1) 1. Phillips’ Chiselvine Swellegant Guy at Tendrow What a super start to a lovely entry, this 9 month brindle dog was just my cup of tea. Super size and type. Lovely front and shoulder placement, correct ribbing carried well back and neat rear. Very sound on the move for one so young with excellent reach and drive. Very close up for top honours, I’m sure we’ll here a lot more about this smart puppy. BPIB.

JD (5) 1. Surrell & Coleman’s Bokra Tabasco Red brindle dog with pleasing head, lengthy neck leading into a good topline. Moved soundly holding his outline well. 2. Clifford’s Ablebody Razzmatazz Pin wire of good size, good head and neck. Good length of ribbing and correct topline. Would like a straighter front. A bit unsettled on the move. 3. Kenyon & Churchill’s Bardings Bilbo Baggins.

PGD (3) 1. Bates & Maes-Jones’ Derochaise Mutineer Dark brindle with excellent coat. Looked a real picture stacked. Lovely to go over with a beautiful head, reachy neck and excellent front construction. Long ribbing, correct topline and neat rear. Very true coming and going, could use more drive in profile. I think he still needs time to mature, lovely dog. 2. Coverley’s Aentine Tropic Thunder Different type to 1, being rangier throughout, but has an excellent head and front. Good ribbing carried well back, correct topline. Moved well showing a good outline. True coming and going. 3. Rees’ Ermewood Joint Effort.

LD (4) 1. McCalmont’s Silvae Paradigm Loved this boys head and expression, super type, well angulated both ends. Looked very balanced on the move with good reach and drive. 2. Norman & Ratcliffe’s Silvae Abraxus Very similar in type to 1 and the same comments apply, just preferred the width of the first throughout. 3. Rowe’s Boloria Calico Jack ShCM.

OD (5) 1. McCalmont, Heywood & Pedrosa’s Am Ch Treis Pinheiros Zucchini Just loved this dog, super type and size. Lovely head and expression, reachy neck, well placed shoulders and good pro-sternum. Excellent ribbing and top and underline. Well angulated rear which he used to best advantage on the move. Very pleasing coming and going and held a lovely outline in profile with good reach and drive. Looked a picture and was delighted to award him the CC his 3rd I was later told, congratulations. 2. Moore & Coverley’s Ex Sentia I’m Bond James Bond (IMP POL) Very smart, correctly sized young dog of not yet 2 year old and hence didn’t have the maturity of 1, however he pushed him all the way. Beautiful head and neck. Good layback of shoulder and upper arm, correct pro-sternum, Good ribbing and topline. Very neat rear which he uses well on the move. True coming and going and good profile movement. Very close up to 1, but had to settle for the RCC today. 3. Dible’s Ch Lieblings Stormin Norman Lovely red dog of excellent type, just flagging in the heat today and not showing his best.

PB (2) 1. Phillips’ Tendrow Replayed in Red Lovely red girl of excellent size, good head, lovely front. Ribbing carried well back. Very promising puppy who just needs to settle on the move. 2. Squire’s Silver Sixpence Dark brindle with the makings of a lovely bitch. Needs to settle on the move. Taller all through than 1, but good angulation, nice head and neck.

JB (3) 1. Rowe’s Boloria Anisia Bella Chocolate bitch of lovely type. Good head, excellent front and shoulders. Correct topline and good rear angulation. Moved really well. Very nice. 2. Moore’s Cloudside Lara Taller and more angulated type than 1, looked very impressive stacked and lovely to go over. Beautiful head and neck, excellent front assembly and fabulous pro-sternum, just not as coordinated on the move. 3. Smith’s Salixian Elise.

PGB (5) 1. Davies’ Atahira Centissima Nice dark brindle bitch of good type. Excellent head and good front. Good topline. Well angulated rear. Sound mover. 2. Piper’s Aventine Second Edition Nice brindle bitch of good type, good head and front assembly. Ribbing could be longer. Good topline but a little cut up underneath. Sound mover. 3. Gibson’s Allfrey’s Starduster.

LB (5) 1. Bates & Maes-Jone’s Derochaise Black Orchid Beautiful dark brindle bitch of the highest quality. Fabulous head and neck. Lovely shoulder placement and upper arm. Excellent pro-sternum. Ribbing carried well back giving her a correct top and underline. Lovely rear. Moved so well both coming and going and in profile where she holds her lovely outline at all times. An outstanding bitch who I was delighted to award the CC and BOB to. 2. Patton’s Lesandnic Look Here Very nice brindle bitch who excels on the move. Excellent head and front. Good topline and neat rear. Just a little narrow through. 3. Edwards Lovehayne Blue Pixie.

OB (9,2) Excellent class with quality right down the line. 1. Patton’s IR Ch Lesandnic Liberthine Lovely bitch who I have done well for before. Lovely head, good length of neck leading into correct shoulders and good length of upper arm. Ribbing carried well back. Not always the most cooperative to stack but comes into her own on the move with a powerful lengthy stride and true coming and going. Excellent coat and condition. Pleased to award her a well deserved RCC in excellent company. 2. McCalmont’s Ch Silvae Zest Lovely type of bitch, excellent head and expression. Lengthy neck and good shoulders. Excellent top and underline. Moved well with good reach and drive. Tail set a little high for my liking. 3. Patton’s IR Ch Lesandnic Lily Agnes.
