Crufts 2011 - Wire Haired

A few observations I feel should be addressed. Firstly, the standard of presentation was, in some cases, very poor. I found several suspect mouths, and more importantly, size was a great problem. The standard calls for ideal weight 9-12 kgs! And I am sure some could not work as originally intended. On the plus side, temperaments were excellent, as one would expect, and coats, on the whole, were good.

VD(3) 1 Patton's Ch Lesandnic Limestone Lad. 10 years old, didn't show it, well made, good ribbing, level topline. 2 Moore's Ch/Ir Ch/Am Ch Raydachs Tom Cruisen On. Not the body of first, shoulders ok, went well. 3 Baxter's Lankelly Timothy Grass At Kharmina. Good coated dog, lovely head, fair front.

Sp PD(4, 1) 1 Rollinson's Bystock Double O Seven At Nosinllor. Larger than I would like, but a sound dog, good topline, crisp coat. 2 Patton's Lesandnic Sea The Stars. Good reach of neck, sound front, a little too proud of his tail. 3 Hastings' Leandnic Sublimit. Front movement ok but needs to firm up behind.

PGD(10, 2) 1 Smith's Salixian Eclat. Well bodied, nice head, good shoulder angulation, firm topline, went well. 2 Paskin's Sonic Foot Loose At Kindeace. Longer type, kept his topline, not the feet of first. 3 Hunt's Norriska Yellow Diamond. Softer in coat and not the angulation of first and second.

LD(15) 1 Draganescu &Muntean's Treis Pinheiros Sunday Silence. A dog of correct size, good reach of neck flowing into well placed shoulders, well ribbed, good mover. 2 Phillips' Cishelvine Swellegant Guy At Tendrow. Tight coated, fair head, good hind movement, good size. 3 Coverley's Aventine Tropic Thunder. Larger type, sound mover.

OD(11, 3) 1 Dible's Ch Lieblings Stormin Norman. One I have judged when he was a puppy, he didn't disappoint then and certainly not today, a mature good sized red, good proportions, classic head, firm front, level topline, all topped off with a good harsh jacket. CC, thought in the challenge for BOB he just flagged a bit. 2 Hubbe Treis Pinheiros Matisse. Brindle, lovely eye and head, running into a good reach of neck, correct front, well bodied, kept his topline on the move, pushed first hard in the challenge. Res CC. 3 Patton's Ir Ch Lesandnic Larsson. Pin wire, nothing out of place, he is a little on the large side for me.

Good Citizen D 1 Smith's Salixian Eclat.

VB(8, 1) 1 Poulter's Ch Lankelly Kelsey. Tight coated bitch of good size, nice head, firm body and moved out well. 2 Patton's Ch/Ir Ch Lesandnic Like A Butterfly. Another nice bitch, lovely head, good shoulders, nice forechest, level topline all with good coat. 3 Kent's Liebling Sweet Charity. Not the head of above, had good hindquarters.

Sp PB(9, 1) 1 Pughe &Fraser's Bystock Pussy Galore. Classic lines of this puppy stood out, scored in head, neck and very good feet, all topped off with good wire coat. BP. 2 Barney's Maloney Denise For Romaunt. Close up to first, well proportioned of good size, tight coat, good mover, very close decision. 3 Seath's Sunsong Wish Upon A Star. Not as mature as above, had correct front with good width of forechest, just a bit softer in coat.

Sp JB(6, 1) 1 Seath's Bolorias Kaleena At Sunsong. Elegant bitch, super head and neck, lovely body, well angulated rear all topped off with a good harsh coat. Res CC. 2 Skinner's Ritterburg Desert Storm. Good all round type, carried level topline, not moving as freely as first. 3 Phillips' Tendrow Replayed In Red. Young lady who needs to mature but has lots to like about her.

PGB(11, 4) 1 Quitrutec Somehow Here At Toftwick. Of good overall proportions, good in head, neck, well off for bone, good steady mover. 2 Piper's Aventine Second Edition. Larger type, not the head of first, firm body, kept topline, good mover. 3 Vine's Cishelvine Dream Of The Sea. Sound bitch with everything in the right place, just a trifle too low for me.

LB(12, 2) 1 Mease's Weaverwire Florin. Feminine bitch of good size, lovely head, good lay of shoulder, well ribbed, good hind angulation all topped off with a good coat, her movement was a joy to watch, certainly she had personality plus which won her the CC and BOB. 2 Patton's Lesandnic Look Here. Good all round type, unlucky to meet first in such good form. 3 Rowe's Boloria Anisa Bella. Choc brindle, nicely made, good mover.

OB(14, 1) 1 Bates &Maes-Jones' Ch Derochaise Black Orchid. Just a little large for me but she was well made with proportions to her size with a good wire coat, felt in the challenge she didn't put her all in. 2 Ch Allfreys Grace Kelly. Elegant type, well made and good mover, just a shade soft in coat. 3 Salette's Ch Gauloise Dri. A bitch of good size, nice head and front but long hocks let her down.

Good Citizen D (2) 1 Patton's CH Ich Audleys Roads To Lesandnic. Sound type, well muscled coat, good true mover. 2 Perry's Petal Rebecca Von Tagundnacht. Light brindle, happy sole.
