DACHSHUND - WIRE HAIRED
I had a lovely day judging this delightful
variety. The overall quality was of a high standard, and the breed seems to be
in 'good heart' at present. However, I feel feet could still be improved.
Temperaments are still wonderful, the only downside was the ring, being uneven
with a large drainage cover on one side. Fortunately the dogs coped with it very
well and there were no mishaps.
MPD(2) 1 Dible's Liebling Sing A Rainbow. Smart d/brindle boy of
pleasing type and well put together, good head and dark eye, well constructed
with prominent forechest, good ribbing and strong quarters, moved out smartly
with good rear drive. 2 Adam's Sunsong Whisper A Secret To Angelholm. Delightful
brindle, just 7 months and still very much a baby, lovely head and expression,
pleasing overall shape and smart in outline, well angulated quarters, very happy
and exuberant on the move but covered the ground well, when he gets his act
together should do well, shows lots of promise.
PD(3) 1 Gibson's Allfreys Rock Of Gibralter. Handsome d/brindle puppy
of 9 months, lovely make and shape and really nice to go over, lovely head, eye
and reachy neck, liked his good body proportions, well filled front, good
shoulder and ribbing, well angulated quarters, lovely bone and neat feet, moved
out soundly and carries himself well, happy showman. Best PD. 2 Downes' Aventine
You Only Live Twice. 11 month d/brindle in super wire jacket, lovely masculine
head, good neck, well ribbed back and strong well angulated quarters, moved out
smartly keeping good topline, just preferred the overall balance of first. 3
Hooper's Strutting Arch At Starhill.
JD(4) Close decision. 1 Patton's Lesandic Sea The Stars. Res CC.
Eyecatching brindle of 15 months, super overall shape and well put together,
masculine head, dark eye, excellent front assembly, lengthy ribbing, firm
topline and strong well angulated quarters, moved with both reach and drive, is
true away and back, shown in tip top condition and a lovely wire jacket, pleased
to award him the Res CC. 2 Lewis-Crook's Barmaud Rufus. Most attractive red boy,
soundly made with super bone and feet, lovely masculine head, reachy neck, well
filled front, long ribbing, strong well muscled quarters with short hocks which
he used to really stride out, happy, confident youngster and a good showman,
very well presented, liked him a lot. 3 Carruthers & Marston-Pollock's Ambiesque
Adventure.
PGD (1) 1 Kirkby's Bystock Bananarama. Well presented brindle in lovely
coat and condition, nicely balanced with a smart outline, pleasing head and
expression, good neck, ribbing and strong well angulated quarters, lovely
outgoing temperament, showed well.
LD(7, 1) 1 Surrell &Coleman's Bokra Tabasco. Smart brindle of excellent
type and pleasing outline, good bone and substance, nice shaped muscular head,
good front construction, well ribbed body, good quarters and neat hocks and
feet, moved freely with drive in good coat and condition and carries himself
well. 2 Cloverley's Aventine Tropic Thunder JW. Pleasing brindle lad of 2 years
with super wire coat and in lovely condition, masculine head, good front, nice
depth of chest, well developed quarters, moved out smartly and covered the
ground well, just preferred rear movement of first, lovely outgoing temperament.
3 Rees' Ermewood Joint Effort.
OD(4) 1 Phillips' Cishelvine Swellagant Guy At Tendrow. Super quality
brindle, appealed for type and overall shape and his clean lines give a smart,
well balanced outline. I liked everything about him, attractive head, dark eyes,
reachy neck, good shoulder and upper arm with well filled front and neat fitting
elbows, lengthy ribbing and well angulated quarters, he has a lovely wire
jacket, good bone and neat feet, moved out really well in profile and is sound
away and back, an excellent showman, pleased to award him the CC. I was told
this gives him his title, well done. 2 McCalmont's Silvae Zealot. Attractive
d/brindle, soundly constructed with lots to like and pleased in all aspects,
masculine head, nice neck, good angulation front and rear, moved soundly with a
good driving action, in lovely wire coat and hard condition, a little unsettled
at times but a lovely prospect. 3 Moore's Grand Ch Daybreaks Classique Cruiser
TAF.
MPB(2) Two promising puppies. 1 Dible's Lieblings End Of The Rainbow.
Delightful red girl, 8 months, beautifully constructed with everything in the
right place, lovely feminine head, dark eye, good bone and feet, super wire
jacket, liked her well proportioned body, good angulation front and rear, firm
topline, moved freely, lovely showgirl, must have a rosy future. BP. 2
Rollinson's Nosinilor Artemis. Promising d/brindle baby, 6 months, with lots to
like about her, attractive head and expression, well constructed throughout,
still very immature but has all the essentials to make a lovely bitch, moved
well.
PB(2) 1 Coverley's Aventine Shaken Not Stirred. Smart brindle of nice
type and size, pleasing head and eye, good body and topline, deep chest, good
ribbing and quarters, won this class on her more collected movement and
maturity, lovely harsh jacket and very feminine in outlook. 2 Gibson's Allfreys
Lillie Langtry. Litter sister to BPD and very much in the same mould, but not as
forward or all of a piece yet pretty feminine head, good neck and well filled
front, well ribbed, good bone and feet, moved out freely, just needs time to
strengthen in topline and come together, well presented. JB(3)
1 Patton's Lesandic Sariska. Litter sister to dog RCC and has the same sound
free movement, and really strides out, beautiful head and expression, reachy
neck, well constructed fore and aft, good ribbing and topline, attractive
salt/pepper jacket of an excellent texture. 2 Seath's Sunsong Wish Upon A Star.
Very feminine young lady of a pleasing size and type, well constructed front and
rear, holds herself well with a firm topline, pretty head and dark eye, lovely
wire jacket, moved out soundly, liked her a lot and close up to first. 3 Pughe
&Fraser's Bystock Pussy Galore.
PGB (1) 1 Barrett's Ablebody Pulcinella. 3 year old red with a close
wire coat and nice to go over on the table, lovely head and dark eye, good neck,
well filled front and firm topline, moved and showed ok, would look more elegant
carrying less weight.
LB(6, 1) 1 Phillips' Tendrow Replayed In Red. Stylish red who had
immediate appeal, lovely for size and type, beautifully put together with a
super clean cut outline, loved her feminine head and expression, good
construction front and rear, well proportioned body, long ribbing and firm
topline, moved soundly with a free, easy stride, good coat texture and
delightful outgoing temperament, lovely prospect. Res CC. 2 Marston-Pollock's
Cloudside Lara. Immaculately presented brindle of a lovely overall shape and
well made throughout, attractive head, good neck and topline, nice spring of
rib, moved with drive in good coat and condition. 3 Seath's Boloria's Kaleena At
Sunsong JW.
OB(8, 1) Super class of top quality bitches. 1 McCalmont's Ch Silvae
Zest. Classy 3 year old brindle of a super type, full of quality and a pleasure
to go over, beautifully put together with an impressive outline, lovely head and
eye, reachy neck, shoulders well laid with good upper arm, well filled oval
front and long ribs, strongly made quarters, good bone and neat feet, moved very
soundly with a free easy stride, immaculately presented and super wire coat,

good front with snug fitting elbows, good ribbing and strong well developed
quarters, moved out smartly with a free easy action, in good harsh coat and tip
top condition, very outgoing temperament, giving her handler a challenging time
today, but could not be denied her place. 3 Patton's Ir Ch Lesandic Liberthine.
