Eastern Counties Dachshund Ass 2012
|
I thoroughly
enjoyed my day at ECDA, but I was disappointed to find several dogs with level
bites, too very narrow in front with without much prosternum. The breed
standard asks for a complete scissor bite, moderately long and moderately low
with good bone and a good spring of rib. However, on the plus side I thought
that coats have greatly improved since I last judged them. Sadly the above
points are lacking in the breed at present and greatly influenced my
placements. However, I felt my CC winners reflected the breed standard
correctly, not overdone in any department. PD. (4). 1. Rowe's,
Boloria Cadbury's Surprise. Very outgoing with lovely expresion. Good length of
rib. Good feet. A good size. Moved out with dribe. 2. Davies's, Atahira's Joie
de Bleu. Larger than winner but well constructed, excellent rear. Moved well.
JD. (1). 1. Paskin's, Kindeace Blue Savannah. Brindle dog of
just 14 months. Excellent in head. Good reach of neck. Lovely quarters and nice
tight feet. Harsh coat. Moved out well. One to watch for the future just needs
time. LD. (7,2). 1. Vine's, Allfrey's to Catch a Thief at
Cishelvine. Brindle dog. Good head, dark eyes. Long reachy neck. Good width in
front. Keel going well back. Enough turn of stifle. Moved well fore and aft.
Well spaced, nice to see. 2. Singleton's, Tendrow Drum Crazy Jethard. I really
liked this dog in all aspects. Good depth of muzzle, well put together. Not
overly long. Good coat and feet. Moved with dribe and purpose. OD.
(2). 1. Dible's, Multi Ch. Leibling's Stormin Norman. Red dog I have admired
for a while now. A quality dog and worthy Champion. Excellent in head and reach
of neck. Well placed shoulders. Good prosternum, ribbing going well back. Firm
well made rear. Super coat, lovely to go over. Moved true and free. CC and BOB.
2. McCalmont's, Ch. Silvae Zealot. Lovely head on a good reach of neck, good
shoulders not as prominent forechest as winner and a tad longer. Well angulated
rear. Moved out well. RBOB. PB. (6). 1. Coverley's, Aventine
Dawn Patrol. Brindle bitch of just 9 months with good dentition. Lovely reach
of neck. Good front, enough ground clearance. Tight feet. Movement won her this
class. 2. Moore's, Romanchie Bella Bella. Smaller type bitch. A bit raw at
present. Good prosternum, sadly lacking in so many. Good reachy neck. Good coat
texture. Just needs time. JB. (3). 1. Bates and Maes Jones's,
Derochaise Elegancia. Lovely well put together little bitch with a super front
assembly. Good underline, enough ground clearance. Nice hammy quarters. Good
length, harsh coat. She had some tough competition on the day but she is only
14 months old and has lots of time to gain great honours. Well hancled. 2.
Rowe's, Derochaise Atlantica to Bolivia. Litter sister to winner. Another
lovely bitch front his kennel. Same comments apply. Hope they both do well in
the future. PGB. (4,1). 1. Singleton's, Tendrow Dance with you
Jethard. Good in head and neck, front, not over long. Well made rear. Moved
best of the three in the class. 2. Stockdale's, Wireline Cooks Companion.
Lovely red. Well made with a good reach of neck. Excellent ribbing. Moved ok
but could have given a bit more of herself. Lots to like and more to give.
LB. (13,3). 1. Phillips', Tendrow Peaches. Super red, oozes
quality. Very soundly made the right things in the right places. Very happy
nature. Well muscled. Moved true and freely. CC. 2. Dible's, Leibling End of
the Rainbow. Another nice exhibit from this breeder. Good in head, neck, front
and rear. Very sound bitch and ture on the move. Well handled. OB.
(8,1). 1. Allfrey's, Ch. Grace Kelly. I liked this bitch, very elegant. Good
head and eye. Good reach of neck. Well rounded rear. Moved and handled well.
RBOB. 2. Pugh and Fraser's, Bystock Pussy Galore. Another lovely bitch. Small
and neat with good ground clearance. Good in head, neck, shoulders and rear.
Moved out well.
